This place is a dump. I would not stay here if you paid me to. I was expecting 4.5 star I would rate it a 3 star. Burn marks on carpet, bathroom was dirty. Room smelt. Marks on the walls, chewing gum on the carpet. Quilt on the bed had pilling on it and looked like something that was second hand. Dust on the ceiling fan and ceiling it self. Stale water in the fridge. Fridge smelt like it had something dead in it. Before we made our way up to the room we ate at the Brasserie, we ordered a pizza which took them half an hour to bring out which I think is pretty poor considering there was no one else there. They also allowed a group of young males to have alcohol which they did not buy from the hotel itself in the pool area.

I would never recommend this place. The first room they gave us had a large hole in the wall, the whole room smelt of smoke, the coffee cups had been used as ash trays, there were burn marks all over the carpets and the TV blew up when we turned it on. They moved us to another room and it had rotten corners around the ceiling, the shower head flooded the bathroom floor every time someone used the shower and we spent 2 HOT sleepless nights with NO air conditioning. They told us it was out of gas. We went with family and friends and had 4 rooms booked in total and everyone had problems. It will be an unforgettable weekend and not for good reasons.

We love this place. Staff are always fantastic, food is great and has good options for vegetarians (which in other hotels - is not the case). Spa is bubbly. All good.

This hotel is slightly old fashioned with decor and furnishings but very clean and with a very helpful and friendly staff. The pool area is big. beautiful, green and lush with a great area for kids. I spent hours floating from one end of the pool to the other. A few minutes walk to the centre of Surfer's Paradise but a comfortable and flat walk. The rooms facing the road (sea view) are noisy all day and night so if you want a quieter aspect ask for a canal view room.

The only reason why I have choosen bad for cleanliness is because of the veranda/ railings had dried up alcohol on it and was still sticky etc. when we arrived there.

Breakfast provided is excellent. Dinner in the restaurant is not cheap but the food is excellent and the serves are a good size.Service is also very friendly. Location of hotel is ideal - just out of Surfers but close enough to walk.

The hotel is in a great location as well as the rooms being a good size. The hotel has a limited number of car parks that cannot be prebooked - first come first serve basis.

the Australis Sovereign is quite dated in room appearance, is on a very noisy road, and is poorly fitted - portable stove, a clock radio for music...to name a few

Rooms were dated but had everything we needed and were very clean. Be aware that if you book twin share, there are no queen/double beds as all their twin share rooms are single beds only.
