The best vacation. The only problem was that the pool bars closed at 5:30 pm after this time all the things to do are inside hotel.

Unhappy with the meal plan. We chose the gormet food plan but there was nothing gormet about it. It was too expensive. Choices were too limited and some restaurants on our list were closed. I never like a forced gratuity. Many of the restaurants were excellent and would have warranted more than 15% but some did not deserve any. Most of the staff were excellent but not all. The person that checked us in was not helpful. We had to find out most info on our own. Our stay would have been more productive and enjoyable with a better understanding of the property and a better check in. We did research before we got there but it was overwhelming. We stayed at the Royal Towers and later realized that it would have been better to stay at the Beach or Cove Tower because we were traveling with kids. Thats where most of the kids activities were located.

The hotel lives up to its name, just came back from spring break 09 and the hotel was beautiful. The service could be better, I think that is because the servers get 15% gratuity regardless so some of them really are not as attentive as they could be. We opted out of the meal plan option because your forcing yourself to eat on their property and you still have to pay the gratuity on your bill. Take a cab to town and eat at the Fish fry section, the food was great and it is reasonable. If you decide to stay on the resort Bimini's and Murray's were great choices with reasonable prices for the meals....Bring your own snacks/and your favorite alcoholic beverage and you won't be disappointed, because some of the drink prices at the bar are overpriced. The water activities are great......

Once you are at the hotel you are basically stuck paying outrageous prices for meals. The breakfasts run * per person and dinners start around * per person. Nassau basically closes down at 6PM so you have no options but to eat at the hotel or at the affiliated restaurants. The hotel was nice and the water activities were good, but for the money there are better places to visit. I won't be going back.

The resort is great! It really does feel like you are part of the Atlantis (the lost city). It is so beatifully designed and so much to see and do. I would have given this 5 stars; however, I didn't think the staff was friendly nor did they go above and beyond to please everyone, as a 15% tip is included in everything, you like it or not... so the staff doesn't feel like they need to go above and beyond anything. Everything has a charge associated with it. You can't even use the refrigeator to keep your drinks or food cold. The refrigeator in the room is weighted (hence if you remove something and don't even use it and put it right back within 1 second.. you get charged for it). They don't want you to bring outside food or drinks... it's a MONOPOLY. Dining is ridiculously expensive... If you buy the meal plan... it's not worth it, unless you are going to get up on time to eat the breakfast... the meal plan is only for Breakfast and Dinner.. not for lunch. If you don't mind spending the big bucks on food and getting terrible service... I strongly recommend this resort. If you are like me and can't see your self spending avg. $70 dollars a day per person... I recommend you pack half your bags with snacks and food. Overall, it's worth a few days of stay... however, anything more than 4 days would be too expensive.. we stayed there for 8 days... OUCH!

Tons of fun in the sun! Pay for the casual meal plan if you are going to eat at the resort- it will save you some money!

The Royal Towers Hotel at Atlantis on Paradise Island, Bahamas, was just that -- Paradise! The lagoons, pools, waterpark, grounds, etc., were a vision. The kids had a blast, and so did I! The beaches were gorgeous, there were opportunities to do all sorts of fun water sports, i.e. snorkeling, banana boat riding, parasailing, water trike riding, etc. The aquarium was amazing, as was the Predator Lagoon! We couldn't have had a better time in the Bahamas, and plan to return to the same hotel next year for our vacation! The staff was unbelievably helpful and nice - did not have one bad experience! If you are going to the Bahamas, please remember, all food items in the Bahamas are IMPORTED, since it's an island, so food is very expensive. It was all worth it! Security was top notch, and the food at the different restaurants at the resort was amazing!

The Atlantis resort is breath taking. The Royal Towers where we stayed was very clean and had fantastic views form the balcony. They have some funky deal where you are charged if the mini bar door is even openned...even if you didn't take anything. Keep the kids away from it. The grounds were spectacular. The variety of fish in the massive tanks is second to none. From the time we arrived until we left, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We enjoyed all the pools, lagoons, slides, lazy river, and fantastic weather. My favorite part of the grounds are the beaches. Very clean and safe. Excellent snokeling...great for kids. The food is very good but it is VERY expensive. The Marketplace buffet in the Royal Towers was massive...very tasty but for a family of 4, was just for dinner. Breakfast for 4 was around . There are some other options but you are still spending for what amounts to contenental breakfast. For a week, we spent roughly just on food. That not including cocktails. But it was vacation, on an island, economy stinks everywhere...so I sucked it up and just enjoyed everything. People watching is interesting. Good chance you'll run into celebs. We ran into several NBA and NFL players. We will go back again. I'd go tomorrow if I could.

The sheets are not changed while you are there. We stayed an entire week and the sheets were the same ones. The shampoo/conditioner etc. were not replaced when they would run out. Absolutely anything that you buy on the premises is very expensive, not to mention food and beverages. No wireless internet in the rooms!

Aside from being very clean and spacious, there was so much to do, plenty of amenities (poolside food service, plenty of chaise lounges, towels, space), beautiful grounds, very helpful staff.

You must visit Atlantis for the beauty but be prepared for THE BAD: $4.70/bottle juice, $11 egg sandwich (which costs $1.50-$2 home), $4 for a bagel, $7 for a slice of pizza, about $50-60 for bottle of $10 wine. After spending over $350 on Dolphin Swim, my mother spent $15 to watch her 3 grandchildren do the swim up close. She could have watched from a balcony but would probably not have made out their faces. Beach tower rooms need updating and please do not expect Ritz Carlton rooms, only prices. No marble in shower and hole in wall. $15/night to RENT refrigerator. Housekeeping not too good. Called 3 days to replenish coffee supplies. Phone issues. THE GOOD Beautiful grounds, staff was wonderful, sea life incredible, pools terrific, beach heavenly. Tons of entertainment at restaurants for children such as stilt walkers, clowns, face painting, balloon making music. Bring your wallet!

My 4th visit, my husband's 1st - he won company sales trip. We were nicely compensated for "non-company" sponsored meals, but restaurant & bar prices were SO overpriced the 450 "Atlantis Cash" lasted 1 1/2 days - it was ridiculous. Too many outside guests use hotel - my 1st trip was nearly 10 yrs ago when it WAS exclusive, but NOTHING has been updated (the 1st nite reception was even the SAME Junkaroo theme w/same props & singers!!!) We had not one, but TWO roaches in our room, yes they were alive. Pool towels were stained and threadbare, EVERY purchase includes automatic 15% gratuity so there's no incentive to provide exceptional service. Every common area has a miniature replica of condos they are hawking and they never stop yelling at you to sign up for the 90-minute presentation. Hotel in general has poor HVAC ventilation and moldy smell. Never enough towels in room considering we were showering at least a couple of times a day. No fishing lines were installed to stop seagulls & pigeons from attacking guests' plates. Numerous times we witnessed gulls swooping down and taking food while lifting forks to take a bite - no joke. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE unless your trip is FREE! Find a truly exclusive hotel that does not allow outside guests, cruise ships or have 'sister' properties using the facilities.

Wonderful place and people. The Hotel is a money sucking machine that gets you coming and going- you have no alternatives. However you do get what you pay for, even the 9 dollar water bottles. All in all a great experience except for travel to and from Miami on American eagle, bad service bad flight and the time it takes to get to and from the island is about 4 to 6 hours; for a 50min flight that is really preposterous.

We visited most all of the activity areas, there was a lot to do. It is great for children and adults. I felt the cost of food was very costly especially for the average family. A bottle of water $4.00 or a simple turkey sandwich $20.00 multiply that by 4 double that for dinner. A shuttle into the city would have been very nice for the guess to venture out without added expense. I would think the hotel would do well to have a package which included meals for a family on a budget if you didn't have an extra 2K to spend you would be in for a shock which some familes were.

Great resort, provides a lot of activities for the entire family. I would recomend buying bottled water and snacks in your home airpor to avoid the VERY huge prices of the food and drinks on the resort. all activites that you can do are average prices, but the food is very expensive. Unless you have a very large family going, I would avoid the meal plan all together. We stayed in the royal towers and the view was gorgeous, our room was very well made.

lock out of room b/c comp. glick for over 3 hours. Broke foot on coral and mang. refused to compinsate anything. I actually had to walk w/a broken foot all the way to the lobby to speak w/a mang. b/c all 7 times I called I got "she's in a meeting". couldn't eat in a rest. for 3 year aniversary b/c no reservations avail. 7 days prior. Guess you have to make them before you leave for your trip!!! Let too many other guests in other hotels have access to their grounds and therefore room around the pool is too tight. So basically you can save and stay at a surround hotel and still have access to the ATLANTIS grounds for a cheaper vacation. Food is OUTRAGEOUSLY priced in the hotel. Go into town. NOT WORTH IT!!!! Gambling--I played a min. of 5 hours per day and was not comp. even a soda!! What a rip off! Save and the hassel and go somewhere else..................trust me!!!

Hotel is beautiful and unlike any you have seen! Very geared to families with kids old enough to enjoy it. Very expensive dinners...go offsite for water and things like that. The staff was the best I have seen at any hotel from top to bottom. The casino is very nice.

We mostly just hung out at the pool and the waterpark. We have been there 4 times before so we didn't go on any tours or do extra things. The kids loved the waterpark and Club rush, a club for teenagers. They looked forward to that each night. It gave them something to do so my husband and I could do something. The food is expensive, but the kids always want to go back each summer.

I stayed at the Atlantis week of Nov,11,09 Clearly they are feeling the effectsof the economic downturn. I bought the casual meal plan, well 70% of the restaurants were closed down due to low occupancy so getting reservations was always a fight and the front desk staff is awful it was not until the I got the general manager involved did I find out that a memo was sent out from the food and beverage manager that the casual meal plan had been expanded to other restaurants. No one at the front desk told me this and I found this out the 3rd day of a 4day trip. The front desk staff needs to be more friendly for the price they charge. Also be prepared to pay a 15% gratituity on everything and do not pay it in cash there were 4 mistakes on my bill checking out. Nice place but way overpriced for what you get

Water, rooms, property all great. The second hand smoke was awful! Prepare to walk alot. Take the water taxi to Nassau. Visit the Dolphins @ The Blue Lagoon. Take advantage of the water park. Save up money before you go...it's a nice resort it's gonna cost a bit more than Mc Donalds! The staff was very helpful and friendly...the reviews of people not satisfied must have been rude to the staff?
