I was only in Athens for a few days. The hotel was fabulous, but it was in the middle of the ghetto. It's a 5 minute walk from the metro, but you have to travel through a pretty sketchy neighborhood. The location is fine for business travelers or adults, but i would not travel with children here. The hotel staff was excellent and very helpful. The rooftop resturant is pricey but it has a perfect view of the acropolis. If you want to save money don't eat dinner and just get a bottle of wine to enjoy the view.

At first we got a smoking room that smelled, they moved us to a lesser room. We paid more for a room with a view. We got half a building on the seventh floor in the way of the view. Stay away from 740. The hotel is nice but I paid for a room with everything, with a view of the city and got a smaller room with a building in the way of the view that I paid more money for. Price for dinning where very high. Breakfast cost 45 dollar a person or 32 euros. Food in the city was very cheap. The hotel price where very high on food.

All the staff was great on every encounter. The room had no air conditioning and smelled of fumes. I would not stay at this hotel again. The hotel was in a very out of the way location and the basic plant was old and outdated. We had no air conditioning in the room and an electrician stopped by to see if the AC was working. His comment was yes and the entire hotel was like this. We opened the windows to get some air, the noise from the streets was unbelievable, and all night long, for three nights, even a Sunday night. The staff was wonderful though, and they did a great job.

The rooms were exquisite with incredible views, and more importantly, large bathrooms and beds you didn't want to leave. The front desk attendants were the nicest, most helpful people i have ever met, and by the end of our trip, my boyfriend and i felt that we had made a few greek grandfathers. i would comment on the food but we weren't able to try it due to our budgets. the location was great.....the parthenon and syntagma square were both within walking distance, as was plaka and an amazing vegetarian restaurant just up the street that boasted the best dessert waffles in the area (and they were). i would do more than stay there again, i didn't want to leave. definitely a home away from home :)

Usual high quality service and comfort for Intercontinental, but not optimal location and a little noisy duen to high traffic roads near by

Accommodations were extraordinary! Had breakfast at the hotel, buffet only, would have preferred to have been able to order from a menu. Excellent accommodations, staff very responsive and welcoming. A delightful end to a 2 week vacation in Greece. Thank you!

The Intercontinental is a 5* hotel. The hotel is located about 45 minutes from the airport. It's 2 metro stops or 5 minute taxi ride to the Acropolis. The rooms are clean and spacious. Ppl say the neighborhood is a little shady but we didn't have any problems. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Great location to see all that Athens has to offer. A 10 minute walk, at best, and we were in the heart of the city, the Plaka, Acropolis, Olympian Zeus. The staff was super friendly, very courteous, and made traveling in a different country very easy. The rooms where very clean, large, and had everything a vacationer would need.

Spend the extra money and get the Business class rooms. It wasn't that much more, and the business class room was so much nicer than the regular rate rooms! Well worth the money. Excellent service, staff and very modern room. We would stay there again if we travel to Athens again.

The concierge was very helpful when my wallet was stolen. The reservationist was rude when I asked her to throw away an empty soda can.

Was very friendly staff, especially the concierge. We were disappointed that we didn't get tot eat at the restaurant on top of the hotel - must have reservation.

Great concierge, good pool, liked shuttle bus. Front desk personnel very cold and unhelpful. To me, this is not a 5-star hotel. Good pool, nicely appointed rooms, great concierge service, but snooty front desk and poor location in Athens. Also, a tendency to nickle-and-dime for small things that are free at many hotels and to overcharge for restaurants. Fantastic roof bar -- a real plus!

Although the hotel is not situated in the center of the city, the hotel shuttle made places accessible. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The view of the Acropolis from their Premier Restaurant is breathtaking. The open buffet at their main restaurant, Cafe Zoe, had a great selection of dishes for breakfast and lunch. Our room was spacious, well maintained and with a very good view of the Acropolis. As expected!

The hotel offered a convenient shuttle to the direct city center. The restaurant, bar, and internet access pricing was outrageously high.

Quality, and service. Great hotel, excellent quality, shuttle service makes perfect access for city center.

The lobby and common area facilities are well kept. Drinks at the bar were very expensive. Good location. Definitely up to par with other intercontinental hotels. Very helpful staff.
