First of all I want to start out by saying that I have never reviewed a hotel. But this hotel was so disgusting that it compelled me to let others know how bad this hotel truly is. When we arrived they were unable to find our reservation with out the email confirmation that I had printed out. Once we got to our room, the first thing you noticed was the odor. It smelled like a mixture of BO and cologne. The middle of the bed was sunken in from many years of wear and tear. The place was noisy on a Monday night, with a teenagers birthday party in the rooms next door to ours. We asked if we could change rooms but they told us that all of the rooms were the same. At the point we knew that we were going to have to find a new hotel. We found another hotel by walking around and finding a vacancy. When we returned the next morning to see if we could get our money back for part of the 3 day reservation, we noticed couples checking out without luggage&which was a clear indication that this 2 star hotel is really the seedy downtown hotel where prostitutes take their clients! We did not get any money back! When I told the man at the desk that the room was disgusting he told me what did you expect&its a 2 star hotel. Dont waste your money like I did. We had a great vacation in Europe besides this terrible hotel. We loved all the other hotels and hostels we stayed in!

Nothing, hotel is a 2 star, not a 3. Sign by the door says it. Everything, if my wife was traveling alone she wouldn't stay there for many reasons. The Spanish government officially rates hotels and they post a sign out front. The previous week I was in Madrid at a 4 star property. This was definitely not a 3 star; it was officially a 2 star. My personal rating would be between one and two stars. Location was fine but it was entirely misrepresented. Think of a seedy run down day's inn or motel 6. You get the picture. I demand an explanation, a full refund, and a voucher for a free one night stay at a legitimate three star hotel. This is the second time you burned me, the first was in Miami beach but there you represented a property as 5 stars and at best it was a good 3. This time you did no research to check the property. I booked a property with you the previous week in Amsterdam and it was excellent. I paid more for this flea bag flop house in Madrid than I did in Amsterdam, moreover this was not the opaque pricing, and this was a selection from your priced listings with descriptions. I am very disappointed.

The room was spacious and attractive. However the noise from the street can be a problem for some rooms. Staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was fine.

Very dissapointed with this hotel, the noise was terrible and the only redeeming feature was the location.

Madrid weekendWe stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. 2 couples. We did not look at the rooms before we checked in. We were given 2 keys for 2 rooms. My wife and i got the short straw. Very, very basic room with twin beds (not good for the romantic experience) The bathroom was very small but i suppose adequate. Our friends room was much larger and had a very big bathroom with bidet and big mirror. Theirs had 2 balconies where as ours had only one (this sounds like sour grapes eh!) However, we did not spend much time in the rooms or the hotel as there is so much to do and see in Madrid.We got good sleep even thought the traffic outside is constant (a fact of Madrid city life)The shutters on the balcony drowned out most of the noise.Would we return to this hotel? Why not! It;s reasonably priced and all things considered it suited our requirements. I just wished i'd have chosen the other key:) lol

the location is perfect, very near to any monument area. room was clean, but only has a problem of sound insulation. the price was very accepatable for such place just in the centre. it'll still be my choice of my next visit to Madrid.

The hotel is very shabby. In the room there is no tea and coffee making. The domestic staff are very friendly, but the reception staff are rude and unfriendly. We would not stay here again.

Our stay in Madrid was excellent and the hotel ideally situated for on foot exploring of the city, however the standard of the hotel was not ideal. Staff very freiendly and helpfull and we couldn't complaine about the standard of care and room service. Problems : Lift not working when we arrived and on a couple of occasions during stay. Interior of hotel badly in need of clean/re-decoration No faciities in room .. coffee maker/fridge/kettle etc Hanging space and clothes drawers of very poor qualith and badly sitedThis could be a lovely place to stay and has real potential but at the moment it is no better than a second rate B&B

The room I was assigned overlooked the noisy bar. The noise starts from 1:00 in the morning until 5:a.m. The room did not have an electric fan or ceiling fan. It was very hot and uncomfortable. I am hoping in the future that they can install some then I might stay there again. The restaurant is nice and is airconditioned with friendly workers.

In Madrid......in August.....without air conditioning....simple impossible to stay....Crazy fairs for internet connection (6 euro for one hour) and old facilities in hotel.Position is good, next tometro station and in 5 minute walking from Puerta del Sol.

The negative aspects: very noisy schoolchildren groups with no supervision; bar closes at 7PM; no hairdriers;tiny lift for 4 people only;

Very good location close to Metro and restaurants. Room was adequate, the only complaint being that the heating was turned up too high. Very good breakfast. Staff were very helpful.

We had a gorup of 7 people. We all loved the hotel. rooms/ bathrooms were spacious for Europe and the bathroom. The staff was friendly ans hellpful, and it was within walking distance of the metro and some of the sites.

Hotel service was very poor. Only one key per room (No swipe cards), and when asked if we could have two keys, an abrupt "NO" was the answer. The reception staff wasn't very helpful. Breakfast provided was very ordinary, I'd rather have reduced price per room and buy breakfast. Location was excellent , however as the hotel was next to a busy street , the noise kept us awake day and night (Madrid is a 24hr party city).
