We lived in Hanoi Astoria Hotel for 02 days and can highly recommend the hotel which is the best hotel in the Old Quater.

We were suggested the Hanoi Astoria Hotel through 1 of our friends from Hanoi and did stay here for 3 nights. Almost thing were very good from location to services. We were extremely happy by the behavior from the staff- They were very helpful and friendly. We highly recommend this hotel!

The room was very nice, clean, and comfortable. Comfortable, good-sized bed. Bathroom was nice, clean, and updated with new tile everywhere. Glass-enclosed shower - very good warm water. We could see the lake very well (we were on the 6th floor). Staff were all very friendly and helpful with all outside arrangements - no pushy "selling" at all. We were lucky to have the owner take us to a great buffet restaurant with another group of guests - private bus to the restaurant, exciting moto ride back to hotel. When we return to Hanoi, we will stay at the Hanoi Astoria Hotel again. Location in Old Quarter is very convenient to many shops, attractions (water puppet show), Hoan Kiem lake...

Fantastic staff -nothing was too much trouble. Good sized room with good facilities but no natural light and bed was very hard. Daily fruit basket a treat and excellent buffet breakfast - Western and Asian. Ongoing construction noise next door was a problem but would stay again once that building is complete especially as it will be a modern supermarket. Walking distance to Temple of Literature and not far to Mausoleum, though Old Quarter is a longish walk. Excellent $$ value for sure.

Staff were very helpful, they arrange the man went to airport pick up us. They always smile and run out to help us and sent to us the best information about the location, Tours and bus tickets are good value for money from the tour desk. Halong bay was perfect, no need to book tours with anyone else (They guarantee for the tours and make everything right way). Rooms were clean, large and comfortable. Thanks for everything.

I stayed at the Hanoi Astoria Hotel with my family in December. The hotel was located right in the middle of the Old Quarter which had loads of places to explore and shop at. We found the hotel surprisingly comfortable. In fact, it was the most comfortable hotel we had during our entire time in Vietnam. When you look at the hotel from outside, it doesn't seem big but it was lovely and warm inside. The room was well sized and the decor was beautiful. The family room had 2 double beds and so we all slept comfortably. Although the bathroom was small, the spa shower was a nice touch. I liked the private computer in the room too although it was an old one and therefore slow. The hotel staff were excellent and were quite helpful in planning our time in Hanoi. The maps they gave us were invaluable in finding our way round the town and locating places of interest. They also helped us to book trains to Hue from Hanoi.

We loved the Hanoi Astoria. We stayed here for five nights (planned on four nights) in December 2008 and are so glad that we did. The location was great and was only a short walk to the markets and the major attractions. The staff were all very kind and helpful (even after we had left the hotel they went out of their way to make sure a painting we left in Hanoi was returned safely to us in Australia). The rooms facilities were clean, we had a big, comfortable bed, complete with satellite tv and fridge. The free internet in the lobby was a definite bonus. A great breakfast was included (cooked in front of you in the kitchen by lovely staff always with a smile) and was a pleasant way to start the morning. We definitely recommend this hotel to budget travelers.

So great and fortunately when I have the good chances to travel and went shopping in Ha Noi's Old quarter and especially, the tours they organized for me was so great, its price is much cheaper than other travel agent in Ha Noi. Highly recommend Hanoi Astoria Hotel to everyone.

I booked Hanoi Astoria Hotel after reading the reviews on trip advisor and it certainly lived up to its expectations. Room was so cool and We booked the Boat Trip to Halong Bay The boat was beautiful and the small group which gave such a friendly atmosphere. We sailed out to a beautiful lagoon where we dived off the side of the boat and enjoyed swimming in the open clear blue sea.

Its a good location in the old quarter with lots of people. This is the area you want to be, if you like people hustling and bustling and a minimal night life as well. The only difficulty I had was to find the hotel. The only thing that they could add to my comfort is a small table and chair in the room and wifi access in the room. The people were really nice and gave good advice. Met some very interesting young people on the trip too.

Arrived at the hotel to be told our confirmed booking - one room - had been given away as we were late! The hotel knew we were late as they had sent a driver to pick us up from the airport and the one arriving plane was late. 30mins late. We had spoken with them 6 hours prior to confirm our flight arrival time! Super slick hotel staff apologetic that he had given our confirmed room away in the last 15 mins. I was unsurprised when he said he instead had a room available at his "other" hotel. This entailed a motor bike ride so presumably was not close, and he wouldn't name it or give address. Will be interesting to see if the hotel charges my credit card, particularly for the "free" airport - hotel transfer.

Being 11 days away from home, staying at Hanoi Astoria Hotel made me felt pretty much like home (I'm Asian). Though not all the staff speaks English, yet everyone is helpful in their way. There are 3 internet terminals and a cosy dining area to hang out when there's nothing to do. The laundry service is quick and efficient. The location is rather central as it's near to the tourist area (Silk area at Hang Gai, Lacquer and Lantern area at Hang Trong)and Hoan Kiam lake (where couples hang out and the rest do their walks). I think it is a pleasant hotel to stay in When I was there.

The hotel is located very near to Hoan Kiem Lake and lots of shopping and restaurants. There is a lot of construction going on around the hotel, but there is construction everywhere so it would be hard to find a hotel in the Old Quarter without the construction noise. The breakfast was nice and the staff was very friendly and got us off to a good start every day. Our room was nice and kept spotless by the cleaning staff, good a/c and plenty of hot water. We stayed at the Hanoi Astoria hotel for 2 weeks and I will say without hesitation that many days of that two week period would have been much less interesting and very boring, had it not been for the extremely helpful and cheerful attitude of the reception desk staff, most especially Thao. She was so helpful, honest and friendly; and booked all of our tours with good companies at good prices. Our thanks to Thao and all of the staff for making our two weeks in Hanoi very enjoyable and fun.

We had 3 nights at HaNoi Astoria Hotel. We enjoyed our stay and service here. All staff are friendly, funny & helpful, always try to help us by all their best. Room is good: large, comfortable with basic facilities, just bathroom is quite small. Breakfast is ok and serve for free. Very good value for the money paid.I would recommend HaNoi Astoria Hotel to any budget travellers.

This is one of the nicest hotels in the old quarter of Hanoi. The room which we occupied was so good and extremely clean. Staff was helpful, funny and friendly as well. Location was perfect to walk around. In general this hotel is good to stay - High recommend! Rachul from Malaysia

After a 26 hour flight, we were hoping our room would be ready early, and they kindly let us have a room as soon as we arrived. Nice room, not the luxury, but functional and clean. As a hotel for the tourist who wants comfort and convenience it is perfect. My rating is higher as I found all of the staff very helpful, and always knew the answer to any questions I had. Highly recommend !!! Gagliazzo

The hotel is in a wonderful location. You can walk everywhere within 5-15 minutes and we did. We walked to Dong Xuan market, Hoan kien Lake, Temple near the lake, Hanoi Opera House, Art Museum ect... It is a budget hotel and I thought the rooms and the maid service were adequate for the price. Our package included breakfast at the hotel daily. All in all I'd have to say pretty good for the price.

The hotel was great - much more than our expectation. The manager was a good man, he was so kind to help us alot of thing in Hanoi. Room, location and breakfast were very good and we don't mind to suggest this hotel to everyone.
