when we got to our hotel room, theirs was a problem with the bathroom. we talked to the front desk and with no hesistation or questions they upgrade our room to an amazing suite. the experience was unbelievable, great location, but the only problem theirs is no hotel shuttle you must paid to be drop off at the hotel, but is a small price to paid for great service. Will return!!!

The hotel staff was very welcoming when we arrived. They were very informative and helpful. The room floor was so dirty I had to wear my slippers- even in the bathroom! Though the hotel staff was very nice and warm, that still didn't make up for the room. Given I knew it wasn't a five star resort. The floor was filthy, like it never gets shampooed. The bed skirts were stained with dirt- from the floor I assume. The pillow cases weren't changed since ours had someone else's hair still on them. Though the room was terrible, the location of the hotel makes it very convenient. It is right across from the beach and near tons of shopping places. I personally wouldn't stay there again.

We were very pleased with our hotel room accommodation - king bed, microwave and fridge were fine for our 3 day stay. Our room was clean and had some recent updating. The pool areas with barbecue facilities were very nice. The landscaping on the property was well kept. The staff were all very friendly, efficient and helpful. We required a later checkout time and staff were very obliging in helping with this and fitting in our request as the complex was very busy at this time of year. Large grocery-type carts were provided for moving suitcases to condos/rooms so this was also convenient to have. Our experience at this complex was very good and I would recommend Maui Banyan.

I'd read that because these are privately owned condos, the suites can vary quite a bit. When we checked in, I noticed how close we were to the pool and asked about moving, however the desk clerk said they were almost 100% full. She graciously said to give it a try and if there was a problem they would try to make some changes. We were gone most of the day and the pool closed at 10pm so we were never bothered with loud noises. We were a party of 2 so we booked a 1 bedroom/1bath. Our suite had a queen size bed with a sleeper sofa in the living room. There was an apt. size washer and dryer, a balcony from the living room and one from the bedroom. The fully equipped kitchen came in handy. We had a nice view of the ocean from our suite, it was worth the price. We ate breakfast out on the balcony looked at the ocean and planned our trip for the day. We packed lunches for the day and ate out in the evenings. Our suite showed some signs of age but it was clean and comfortable and everything worked. The furniture had a tropical feel with faux bamboo wood and fabric covered with palm trees. Hope this helps. Have a wonderful trip.

We stayed here 6 days and loved it. Although, if you are just a homebody, and want all the luxury comforts of home WHY ARE YOU HERE, STAY HOME! Great place to unwind after a day at the beach, snorkeling, taking the road to Hana, shopping... you name it. We had a unit with washer/dryer set up and complete kitchen. Although the view was not directly of the water, our 3rd floor balcony provided a nice place to watch the sunset and take in the mountains. The pool area was great, even outdoor grilling available by the pool area. Located in middle of everything, beach across street, main road to others right out of the entrance, and all less than 10 minute drive. Staff was very helpful and available for questions whenever we had them. Only problem I saw was that the maid staff would finally come around to straighten the room by 2 PM some days. Well, most of the time, you were already back from your morning activities and in the room for lunch and relaxation time then. But, other than that one issue, I would recommend the Maui Banyan in Kihei to everyone! We went to a couple of other places to check out their stuff, talked to some people we met who were staying at some of the other places, they all said they wished they would have booked with Maui Banyan when we were done talking. Although we wouldn't want to live in Maui all the time, we will definitely be back to visit it and Maui Banyan Resort! Aloha

Sherri at reception had a serious attitude problem. Not friendly at all. I felt like one of thousands that come through this place and was an inconvenience. The hotel itself is across a very busy street from a small public, very crowded beach. The room was standard hotel fare. No bathtub only a shower. The ony rooms that might have a beach view would be level 3 or higher. If you need a very economical, no frills room, this would work but that is all you get.

the hotel was right where i wanted to stay in maui.i have been there before and the location is just the right place for a family. walking to the beach takes 3 minutes.the room is just the right size for a couple and two young children to live for a week or two.

Very pleasant room. There was quite a bit of maintenance noise in the daytime. The room was quite nice, with wicker furniture and a small balcony. Conveniently located for beaches (one is across the street), and some restaurants and shops are nearby.

that is how i felt about this room. i got a hotel style room and it was horrible. you have to whisper the walls were so thin, or I just got some crabby neighbors. the rooms are connected by a door like in some hotels but unlike hotels, they dont keep the sound from coming from the other side. the noise that you can hear is similar to if you are at home and hear someone in the other room through the wall or door. this place has residents and guests that are there. there are tons of good parking spots reserved to the residents but if you are classified as a guest, be prepared to park on the third floor of the parking structure. i did not see any elevator for the parking structure. the room had some nice shampoo, conditioner, lotion and soap to use. i figured i could use the hair dryer in the room, bad idea, bring your own because the one in my room smelled like moth balls. I could not use it it smelled so bad. They also have actual metal keys still so be prepared that if you lose it you will pay a $* fee. The toilet didnt flush well, you had to hold the handle down. Also when you use the shower, if a neighbor flushes the toilet, you get scalding hot water so if the water pressure changes in the shower move back quick. The only nice thing about this hotel is its central in Kihei and it has a very nice pool and bbq area. I doubt I will ever recommend this hotel or stay here again.

Stayed in a unit on the 5th floor with partial ocean view. The housekeeping was good and always respectful. As far as activities, go see "Auntie Lei" at the activities counter, she set us up for a luau and a helicopter ride. Short walk to the beach, and it was never crowded, the view is fantastic. In the week that we stayed there we only heard 3 car horns and 2 sirens. Yes, the "strip" is rather busy, but we didn't hear it when we were in our room or out at the pool/smoking area. Can't smoke on your balcony, but that wasn't a problem. Would recommend this place to anyone. For dining out..can get a little pricey but we went to a place called "Oceans" .. right on the strip and the food was great and no more expensive than say an Applebees here at home. Lahaina is a tourist trap, but get off the beaten path and you can find some good deals. We were going to go on "the road to hanna" thing..but decided against it. If you are going to go on a helicopter ride, we went with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters, go when the tradewinds are blowing all the haze away from the islands. Great time, great trip and we are planning our next getaway to the same place.

This was our first vacation to a really nice beach and it was so nice and adventurous that we will go again for more than one week. We spent a lot of time shopping and not enough time for the beach. This whole package was great, the room provided useful things like dishes, soap, and I was suprised it provided a washer and dryer. One thing we disliked was the reservation rep seemed annoyed by our questions about Hawaii and she didn't give enough luau options. She directed us more to one luau. The plane was also great.

Washer in room. Card keys would randomly stop working. I rented three 2 bedrooms. It seemed the privately owned ones were in better condition then the hotel owned one. The BBQ was in great condition.

We found chocolate wrappers on the kitchen counter, a itinerary for a person SWAIN from Canada for CAN Dollars 4032.00 thru an online company and the beds had already been slept in. Management was indifferent. At the checkin we were given a a LUAU Buy One Get One Free offer with drinks and dinner. When we tried to use it they claimed that we had gotten it under false pretenses
