Ceiling fans weren't enough to keep the one bedroom unit cool in the summer humidity. Definitely ask for an air conditioned unit.

The price was way less than what it actually is worth. Excellent! Did not like the unit above ours. You could hear the people walking from one area to another in their unit. Excellent! Loved the ocean view, awesome and quiet grounds. Within walking distance to Brenneckes and Poipu beach.

We were in Building 7. The condo was very spacious but old and needs alot a work. The carpets, interior doors and walls were disgusting. Very dirty. I don't think the kitchen cabinets have been cleaned in 20+ years. The bathrooms were clean, new mattress in the master bedroom but couches and chairs were very uncomfortable to sit on. We would not recommend this unit to any family or friends. A big disappointment.

We rented a 2 bedroom/ 2 bath condo and the overall feeling of the unit was that it was fairly rundown. It could use some serious updating. The furniture looked shabby and the bathroom tiles looked like circa 1980 and the grout was really dark. Although the place looked old, it was clean. What we could not figure out was why the cleaning lady never stocked one of the bathrooms with a fresh supply of shampoo, conditioner, etc. We were there for 10 days. We liked the pool and the gardens were well maintained. The beach is about a 10 minute stroll away and it does have a nice baby beach. The place has ceiling fans which help keep the place cool. There is no onsite restaurant but there are several places that you can drive to that are worth it. We won't be staying here again.

Had an excellent experience! The rooms are very large, and equipped with everything to make you feel at home!

We stayed at the ResortQuest Poipu Kai for five nights over Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time. These are condo units so upkeep can vary, but ours was very clean, nicely furnished and well maintained. No A/C but really never needed it. It is a large development and our unit was about a 5 minute walk to the nearest beach, but our lanai looked out onto a grassy, landscaped common area which was very pleasant. Our unit was larger than we expected - one bedroom w/ small walk-in closet, large living room, decent sized kitchen and dining nook. Poipu beach has good snorkeling and Shipwreck Beach (about a 15 minute walk from our unit) has good surfing/boogieboarding. Plenty or restaurants in the area, but most are expensive so it was nice to have the kitchen and be able to cook for ourselves as well. I'd recommend Poipu Kai for anybody who prefers a condo to a hotel room and doesn't mind walking a few minutes to get to the beach.

We stayed at the Poipu Sands complex at this resort. We were on the second level. Our unit had an upstairs and a downstairs, each having separate balconies from which we had magnificent views of Shipwreck Beach and the ocean. Spacious rooms. Great master bedroom and bath located upstairs. Nicest condominium we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in some nice ones.

We stayed here for 5 days of our honeymoon.. We had a wonderful time and we really liked the resort.. We'll be back!!!

The view and location were great. They just have not updated this unit in 30 plus years. I don't consider myself to be too picky. The carpet and matresses stunk. The towels, toaster and microwave, washer and dryer were ok. Everything else was grimey, sticky, nasty as if it had been rented and nobody cleaned anything. The stove top was black with burned on stuff and none of the burners were even close to flat so you could cook. The shower was nasty with soapscum. We didn't even get in the pool because we looked into it at night and the water was nasty with hair and floaters. And there was a lot of construction going on. Luckily we spent so much time outside we had a great time. Even the room safe was dirty, really dirty. The curtains really stunk. This is not a 3 star resort.

The ResortQuest at Poipu Kai was very comfortable, clean and perfect for our family of 4. The kids had their own bedroom and bathroom downstairs with the balcony right off the living room and kitchen with a beautiful view of the ocean and swimming pool. The master bedroom was upstairs with a very comfortable king sized bed and bathroom area, again with a balcony overlooking the ocean and pool area. It was spotless, which is the most important thing to me. We would definitely stay there again.

We stayed here in 2002 and loved it, but this time, were assigned a unit that had never been updated in 20+ years, was so-so on cleanliness, and contained a horrible, old mattress that made it hard to sleep (and we are generally not particularly fussy people). Upkeep of units is left to the individual owners, apparently with no overall standards set by ResortQuest. Also, we were assigned an original unit next to (loud) construction, received no apology, and needed to wait three days to move to another unit (better location, no better on updates).

this is not a hotel but a condo. It set close to great activities. There was no airconditioning but March it was not necessary.

Loved the place. The expansive grounds were well-manicured. Just walk the garden pathway and you're literally next to the beautiful Hyatt Resort. You can use the amenities at the Hyatt such as the restaurants and spa resort. We stayed in Building 3 at Poipu Sands and had an ocean view from the patio. Ceiling fans instead of A/C was okay. Access to 2 pools was okay. Will stay again here but ask for Building 5 next time for ocean front views. Awesome stay altogether.

Our stay at Resort Quest was and excellent experience. We were late getting to the resort but had instructions as to how to get key and received help within a few minutes. The accommadations were very good. Our only complaint were sthat there were stains in the carpet but that is understandable. The grounds are beautiful, access to other areas is easy and everything was just great. I would highly recommend the Koloa to anyone that is looking for good accommendations as a reaasonable rate.

I was amazed at the size of our unit (1 bedroom, garden view)and everything was clean and tidy. The shower/bathroom area was large and the shower wonderful A separate area with a long vanity and 2 sinks was great. The grounds were beautiful and seemed to be well kept. We did not use the pools so I cannot comment on them. The one pool area I did peek into was okay. The area was quiet. Reading previous reviews (when trying to decide where to stay)I was a little apprehensive since many mentioned the construction noise. There is a lot of construction in the area, but we heard none of it! It was a very peaceful setting. There were a couple of restaurants within walking distance. We enjoyed Brenneke's just across the road from Poipu Beach.

The condo was very beautiful, comfortable and well decorated. It had bamboo furniture, bedroom, livingroom, dining room and kitchen fully equipped. Our balcony was large and we could see the ocean at a distance. They were about 15 minutes walking distance from the beach and if you have towels, snorkeling gear and beach chairs it's hard, but only 5 minutes drive from the best Poipu beach. One thing I did not like is that the carpet was not clean and the carpet on the stairs up to the condo was not clean either. Tiles would be better because they can be cleaned every day. Also we had to call for toilet paper and soap because they didn't leave some every day. The location is great overall, close to a shopping center, and it was sunny every day. We loved going on a kayak up the river and swim under the waterfalls, we really enjoyed our cruise and snorkeling at Napali Coast and sightseeing at Waimea Canyon and Wailua River. Also other resorts provide you with beach towels every day. Here we were given only one white towel per person and we were told to wash them in the washer at our condo. So we decided to buy some more beach towels. There was no nightlife there. This allowed us to enjoy the starry nights unobstructed by lights or torches.

"The condo was lovely, spacious and well-equipped; but no one warned us about the construction on both sides. It was continuous noise from 8:00 am til 4:30 pm, Monday thru Friday. We tried to move to another condo, but the desk couldn't do anything about it. We are very disappointed as it looks like construction will be going on for a long time!"

The hotel was close to a nice beach but there were few places to go other then the beach. So suited for someone who wanted to read or snorkel close also the beach was good for young kids. The room we had was very dated and the carpets were stained and the lino was ripped and the kithcen counter was damaged. The bedding was clean yet threadbared. I only asked for housekeeping once in the whole week and yet when they came they only changed the towels and did not even vaccum the floors or clean the bathrooms. The accomodation however was very spacious and provided clothes washer and dryer which was very nice. I would never recommend it. (PS I do not usually stay at top end hotels so am comparing this to other mid range acc. )

This resort was great! everything you need for cooking was in the unit. You can get down to the beach from any unit in the complex within a 2 minute walk. Condo & grounds very clean. I couldn't have asked for anything more. Highly recommend!

We could not have been more pleased with our accomodations. The rooms were nicely decorated and very spacious. The huge Lanai overlooking the garden and ocean was just perfect to relax and have dinner on after a long day of sight seeing. There was no airconditioning but we never needed it. We kept the windows open and enjoyed a constant breeze. The location was perfect for us as we enjoyed the poipu beach area and found sufficient dining when we did not want to cook. We would definately return and recommend Resort Quest to our friends and family.
