this hotel was great i loved it the view was wonderful couldnt have asked for a better hotel everything was great about it except one minor thing the elevators... the elevator system they have is horrible. its one of those that you have to put your room card in and then hit your floor level but if you dont do it before the door closes its too late and the elevator goes up a couple floors then comes back down to lobby... i swear everytime i got into their elevators someone was complaining about them but besides that it was great and i would definetly stay there again even though elevators were horrible...

Our stay in Oahu was very enjoyable. It was our virst visit to the Hawaiin Islands and we may come back again some day.

I will start with the not so good, then let you know the good. When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by the head valet, who we gave a tip. Then he showed us to the front desk, and had the bell boy take our luggage to our room (we gave him another tip), then we had requested a crib for our baby and it was delivered a few minutes after our luggage, and when we didn't instantly give the guy a tip, he basically stormed out, as we said thank you and his response was "yeah." A couple days later I was standing by the bell desk (they must not have seen me standing there) because a few employees were talking about guests they had just "buttered up" (sounded like plain customer service), by telling them about a restaurant, but the guest's "hand just stayed in their pocket" - so the employee was complaining about not receiving a tip. I realize tipping is a nice courtesy these days, but it just seemed like every time you turned around, the employees had their hands out wiating for a tip. Also, there is still noisy construction going on, so it interrupts a nice morning by the pool. Good: Live music every night, Starbucks downstairs, and the restaurant has good food.

We enjoyed our stay at the Aston Waikiki Beach hotel. The rooms were a little small, but the decor was very festive, both in the rooms and throughout the hotel. Loved the open air lobby. Even with a partial ocean-view room, we had a great view of the beach. Every morning we enjoyed complimentary breakfast with live hawaiian music and hula dancing. A wonderful way to start the day! The beach is directly across the street and the hotel has a great location at the end of the chain of hotels that line the beach, on the diamond head side of wakikiki. We enjoyed going for a run near the park and diamond head. One of the best features of the hotel is Tiki's bar and grill! The bartenders were great, great drinks, good food, great view of the beach and every night they had live music while the bar was lit up by tiki torches. We would definitely recommend the Aston Waikiki for anyone traveling to Waikiki and looking for a reasonably-priced hotel that offers comfortable and fun accomodations.

Great location, nice decor. We loved the idea of the breakfast on the beach, but food quality could be better.

Located at the south end of the Waikiki strip, next to Kapiolani Park. Restaurant [Tiki] on a second floor balcony overlooking Waikiki Beach. Starbucks, Coldstone, Wolfgang Puck's, retail shop, and Subway in the facade. In a city where dining is very expensive, the included poolside breakfast is a nice touch. Unlike most hotels, they don't mind you taking food away, in fact, they provide picnic bags. Homeless, drunk, and mentally ill people tend to congregate on the grass strip between Kalakaua Blvd. and the beach, probably more so at this end of the strip, but that is becoming a fact of life everywhere. You will encounter this no matter which hotel you choose. Citydwellers would hardly notice. Hotel offers buy-one-get-one-free tickets to the Luau at the Sheraton Princess. I have been to many luaus and found this one ho-hum [except for the fire dancer, who was excellent]. Instead I recommend the Paradise Cove Luau at Ko Olina. It costs more, but worth it.

This was a great experience. The hotel location is excellent in waikiki. The rooms were very clean, and the staff super friendly. We had a good time. I had been in hawaii before and the previous hotel was terrible. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

The location to the lagoon pool and downtown waikiki is fantastic. The size of the room for three people - difficult to move around. The location of the hotel is fantastic, being able to watch the sunset and surfing from ocean view room was excellent. The overall room size with wardrobe supplied and table made moving around room difficult. No spot where child could simply lie on floor and play / colour in as hey do. Internet facilities are poor from room as cannot use VPN or standard business type emails such as outlook.

Negatives: The free breakfast is only from 06:30-08:30 in the morning, and, /if you don't get there before 08:00, they are usually out of most everything. The front desk will put a $100 hold on your credit card and they don't advise you of that. Rooms are very small. Positives: Partial ocean view room had a great view. The hotel is right across the street from Waikiki beach.

My family and I stayed here for a week and a half during Spring Break. The hotel is very comfortable, the people hospitable and the location is perfect for the beach and other activities. The elevators (as I read in previous reviews) were tempermental, but tolerable and vary with the time of day- mornings are the worst because of the complimentary breakfast. The breakfast is o.k.- nothing special. If you're there any length of time you may want to check out other options occasionally. Overall I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Hotel accommodation was excellent. Staff amiable and helpful. I was unable to make contact with the Go Oahu Card company. I went to the hotel sight seeing & travel desk. They did not know anything about this company & referred me to the Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel. The lady there said "Those people changed their name two weeks ago. You may want to look two blocks back from this hotel." I was not able to find anything. Subsequently, I purchased a Natural Highlights of Oahu Adventure from my hotel. A very well organized 6 hour tour of the island. Otherwise, I had an enjoyable time and this comared very favorably with trips I had previously taken. The island tour was organized by Oahu Nature Tours. Our guide was very knowledgeable and had an easy to get along with personality.

Car valet was efficient. No room service, elevators are terrible. You can't charge to your room at the pool or restaurant. No coffee in room. Bathroom was small and unclean. Elevators were being worked on so service was slow. Wouldn't stay here again.

Your bed and pillows were so so comfortable. I didn't like two twin beds for my husband and I though, I didn't see anything ahead to request different. Perfect location loved your quick breakfast idea quite room and the staff was very kind.

The hotel is centrally located on Waikiki Beach. The breakfast is included and it is a continental type that includes a lunchbox. The breakfast is not great and there are few places to sit by the poolside. The hotel is comfortable and the rooms have beautiful views of the beach. The beds are comfortable and clean. It was a great value for the money at the time.

Some hotel rooms much better than others depending on what side of the hotel they are on. Good location for access to beach and very central to Waikiki. Breakfast option is good to have but breakfast is only available from 6.30am-8.30am and caters for the entire hotel so it is increadibly busy and not a very enjoyable experience. Staff are lovely and very very helpful.

We booked a room with an ocean view--and an ocean view we got. The hotel is across the street from the beach and next to Kapiolani Park and Zoo. Bus stops are nearby, so transportation was not a problem. The Waikiki Beach hotel is quite nice and comfortable. The free breakfast is decent and they provide "boxes" for you to take the food to the room or the beach. The only problem was that the elevators are very slow to come and only one or two seemed to be operating at one time. Other than that, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. We would definitely stay there again.
