Excellent condo complex with the friendliest staff I've encountered in years. Spacious rooms and a gated community of condos. Generous Lanai.

Excellent hotel and value for being close to shore at Waikoloa.

Not impressed. This place was cheap for a reason. Towels - so bleached out they were crispy. Carpet - so old & stained I didn't want to take my shoes off. All blinds were broken or just didn't cover the windows. I was on the ground floor so I felt like everyone could see me. I didn't feel safe. Ants in the bathrooms. Rust on the bathroom faucets. Bed was a like a hard table with sheets. Dish soap in kitchen was watered down. Thin walls, I could hear the unit upstairs flush.Their early shower woke me up. This is a beautiful location, too bad it's so run down.

The Shores was delightful home base for our week on Hawaii. We especially liked the large clean condo with a superb view of the pool and environs. Overall, it was a very quiet and restful venue except for a loud group with a late running Friday night party. The remainder of our stay was perfect with no complaints whatsoever. I could highly recommend this venue to friends as an excellent value in Waikoloa! Remember...you don't go to the big island for endless beaches!!

We have stayed in several hotels on the island and this was our first condo experience. For the Waikoloa location and peak season, this was a good value. Staff was friendly at checkin and checkout. The unit was a 2BDR/2BA. Overall clean and furnished with an island flair. Master bedroom with king bed was a bit hard, and 2nd bedroom had twin beds which made the room somewhat smallish and one had to lean against the bed to access the closet. Master bath had extra large shower with double sinks, while 2nd bedroom had an oversize soaking tub. Both bedrooms had television with cable, and living area had HDTV with VCR. Kitchen appliances could stand upgrading but were clean and operable. Lanai was large and comfortable. Gated security entrance. Safe was available in the room for an additional charge. Dining and shopping close within walking distance. After this stay, we tried a condo at Kolea which was highly overrated in terms of amenities. No contact or greeting at Kolea while the Shores had on site staff. NO maid service at Kolea for 10 nights, while the Shores offered DAILY maid service with fresh towels and trash takeout. I mention this because Kolea required you take out trash and wash any towels over one per guest while the Shores provided this service daily. What kind of vacation is that? Kolea is on ABay beach, but the Shores has access to the same beach within a short walk. For value, I would recommend consideration of the Shores if you are interested in a condo in Waikoloa.

The shores surprised us with a bigger unit than expected. The pool was enjoyable for the kids because it was not too crowded. Close to nearby shops. Nice large bathrooms and living area.

We stayed in a one bedroom condo. The first condo we had was not well equipped and we moved to another after two days. Probs: no view, no hair dryer, very few dishes, no safety mat in bath rm, no DVD or CD player, no radio, no TV in bedrm. The next condo was pretty good. Had the DVD player, but no TV in the bedrm. We like to stay at the Shores because the condos are usually great, the housekeeping is very good and the Waikoloa area is less crowded and closer to the beaches we like. The front desk was quick to remedy our problems, although there is a heirarchy and keep asking until someone can take care of your problems. The exercise room is OK. It is small but does have weights and treadmills. They need to monitor the kids. If they aren't going to exercise they have no business running around, screaming and being a nuisance.

The guest bathroom was filthy and the sliding doors in both bedrooms were off the tracks. The vertical blind slats kept falling off onto the floor. The unit was showing its age and the sofa cushion had a hole with the stuffing sticking out.The bedroom carpets,as well as all the bath and kitchen fixtures need up dating. We were unable to use the oven to thoughly cook food. The water had to be run for 5 min's to get hot water. The location is quite remote to the Kona attractions and where the free Luau ticket is. So in order to be able to drink and enjoy our selves we went to Marriot and paid for all our ticktets. The ResortQuest cupons were mainly for the other islands.

The hospitality of the staff was outstanding and the room was better. Our 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo was about as big as our house. I would not hesitate to go back!

We rented a 1 BR condo which was very comfortable accommodations for my family (2 adults, 2 children). The Master Bedroom had a King size bed and the Living Room had a sofa bed. Sizeable kitchen and barbecue grills steps away from the unit. I'd gladly stay there again.

This condo was great! I think that ours was newly refinished because it had nice laminate flooring, new furniture, a nice large double head shower and a wonderfully comfortable bed with a memory foam top. It couldn't be better. A nice walk from the King's Shops, although we found that we were usually driving to Kona, abtou a 1/2 hour away. Hapuna Beach is a short drive away and you can walk easily o the Hilton and sightsee. The front desk was friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there again and again.

The doors and trim need new varnish, but everything else was great. Plenty of room and easy access to the highway and shops. I would take my family back for another visit.
