We were very dissapointed with our stay here. We had stayed here once two years ago and didn't realize how lucky we were to get the unit we did then. This time however, not so lucky. I did request a move, but they were unable to get us into a better location. We did offer to pay for an upgraded room, but they did not have one available. Our room had parking lot views (this is thier "garden view") from both balconies. We were in a lower level and the room was dark, stuffy and slightly musty smelling. There wasn't a good breeze running through the condo and the a/c unit was really LOUD! The pool was large and clean- but the tiles were old and mildewing and unattractive around the edges. The hot tub was small and grungy and kind of grossed me out. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful- no issues there whatsoever. The event coordinator was rude and unplesant the one time I tried to ask a question. She interrupted me after 1/2 of my first sentence to tell me she wasn't the right person to help me. It would have been nice for her to at least let me finish my question before she made that judgment. I still believe she would have been the righ person to help me- but she clearly couldn't be bothered. I am glad we ended up booking our activities on line! The manager did send us a fruit basket to help appease us and said to call him next time before our stay so that he could ensure that we would be happy with our room- but I would rather take a gamble and try a new property I haven't stayed at than stay here again. If you are going to stay here-call them ahead and ask for them to put you in an even numbered unit btwn #2 and #44. (This will ensure that you are on an upper floor with a vaulted celing and a nice breeze, and overlooking thier grassy lawn area- some of these have ocean views as well).

Location. Old. I did not feel this hotel/resort was anywhere near a 5 star.

Maui Hill is one of the best properties my husband and I have stayed at. We found this treasure 4 years ago and have gone back every April. The front desk is very helpful with information on beaches, restaurants, day trips, etc. On our last trip, I phoned the office from our room and asked if they had a shipping box. I gave them measurements and within 10 minutes they had a box delivered to our room. This was unexpected and a very pleasant surprise. Daily cleaning service is a definite plus. The housekeeping staff is wonderful and pleasant. I can not say enough good things about this resort. Everyone who works here is pleasant and willing to assist you in any way they can. If you're planning a trip to Maui, DEFINITELY stay at the Maui Hill. You'll come home rested and have wonderful memories. Aloha ~

We just returned from a week in Maui and Maui Hill Resort was better than I thought it would be. The entire complex was very beautiful, and quiet. We were a short walk from the beach and all the action in town, yet it was so peaceful. We also had an amazing view of the ocean from our room. We would definately return here as well as recommend this place to our friends.

This was a great room for the price. The one bedroom has 2 bathrooms, a large living room area and eat in kitchen. We were only there for one night and were only two so did not have a chance to take advantage of all the amenities. The hotel is far from the water (views are minimal) and I would say a car is necessary.

The kitchen was great, fully stocked and the laundry facilities were great! I would have vacuumed better (but you can only do so much with what you have). The unit (unit #6) we stayed in was so nice and spacious! The kitchen was fantastically stocked with anything you could possibly need and it was really great to have a washer and dryer in the unit!

We had a great stay in an Ocean View 1bedroom here. The room came stocked with all the kitchen implements and beach toys we needed including boards, fins, chairs and umbrellas. Grounds are meticulous, staff was helpful and friendly. We loved the view and the short walk to the beach was worth being just outside of the craziness of Kihei town activity and traffic. We would love to stay here again.

We absolutely LOVED Maui Hill! We had a garden view, which was very tropical, and could see the ocean through the trees. Its peaceful and quiet up on the hill, unlike the main drag. We had maid service every day, a HUGE 2 bedroom, HUGE lanai (2 of them actually), A/C in every room (not common for all condos in Maui), and the beds were so comfy that I wasnt longing for my bed at home. Location is actually great! You have easy access to both Wailea and Kihei. I cant say enough about this resort...I will be back again and again! My recommendations: Eat lunch at Five Palms across the street (the view is breathtaking!), Use Maui Hill Activity planner for luau, snorkling, etc, tickets (big discounts), rent your snorkel equipment from Snorkel Bobs (they were soooo nice), snorkel at Ulua Beach, and if your a reasonable swimmer try Wailea Beach for their great turtle population (we saw so many!). If you rent a jeep dont leave anything in there. We had several things stolen from beach parking lots. ALOHA and enjoy your trip!

This location is a great for trekking around and seeing the sites in Maui. The staff was very nice and the amenities were perfect for a family vacation. We were pleasantly surprised to find that they upgraded our room from a 2 bedroom/2 bath condo to a 3 bedroom/3 bath condo. The condo, although not beachfront, is a short walk to Keawakapu beach.

Great place for a larger family or older children. A cockroach in the bedroom; low water pressure in the shower. Nice place to get away with older kids. You want to keep them close, but not in the same room with you. Closet included fins, boogie board, beach ball, mat and beach chairs which were very convenient even though the beach was not right across the street as advertised.

We had a great time in Maui. We really enjoyed staying at the Maui Hill. We stayed in the 2bath/2 bedroom condo with my parents and our two children ages 4 & 7. The rooms were very spacious and the lanai was very large. We enjoyed the pool, the barbecue, and walking around the lovely grounds. We had a garden view but it had a nice partial view of the ocean from the lanai. The concierge was very helpful in arranging a snorkel trip, shows, and a luau for us. We went to the luau at the Maui Prince ( about a 10 minute drive away). I am not an expert on luaus but we had a great time. The Maui Prince has beautiful gardens inside and out. We would stay at the Maui Hill again. A great property for families.

We wanted a nice place to stay, but didn't want to spend a fortune. This place fit the bill. Clean, quiet and spacious. The one bedroom unit was great & we especially liked opening the glass doors on the lanai to let in the breeze. If you like to walk out the door & be on the beach, this isn't the place for you. But, a 5 minute drive (or less) can put you on a variety of different beaches. No restaurant on premises, but many are a very short drive up the street. If you want a good meal at a moderately expensive place, check out the Five Palms Beach Grill across the street in the Mana Kai Resort. We would go back again tomorrow!

My wife, daughter and I stayed at this resort. Our suite had fully equiped living room, kitchen, dining area and bedroom. Two showers as well and two balconies. The front balcony has even seats and tables. KItchen fully equiped even with utensils we don't have at home. TV, stereo in living room and HDTV in room. The location is not the best as it is a bit drive to Lahaina (45min) and airport (30min) but if you take highway it is not bad. One of the best beaches nearby. Staff very friendly and on-site travel agent is very convenient with relatively good prices. We might come back again!

This hotel was definatley a suprise, especially for the price. The room was very spacious, with many amenities. It had a nice kitchen, and family room. The balcony was nice and big, although our room was suppose to be an ocean view room. You could barely see the ocean due to the other complex blocking most of the view. Other than that everything was great.

Our condo unit was spacious, quiet, and well appointed. The grounds were immaculate and beautiful. It had everything we needed, actually better than home. We had a washer and dryer but never needed to use them. The gas barbeque units around the grounds were a nice touch and allowed us to prepare some great meals rather than dining out. While we were across the street from the beach, the hillside location gave us a view of the ocean and greatly reduced traffic noise. The Maui Hill is located right at the south end of Kihea and just before Wilea. Easy access/short drive to some of the best beaches.

We liked Maui Hill. It was very comfortable and spacious. Although things were little outdated, the place had everything we needed. We stayed in a 2 bedroom 2 bath condo, and that was perfect for us. We loved the spacious lanai where we had breakfast, took naps and read book/newspaper. The kitchen was equipped with dishes, pans, microwave, toaster, blender, etc. It came with CD and DVD players plus internet cable for our daughters' laptops. We had a really relaxing vacation. It was like having a second home in Maui. We also liked the location of Maui Hill which is very close to Wailea and close to shops and restaurants in Kihei but far enough to avoid the crowd. The beach was walking distance and that part of the island was always sunny even when it was raining in the upcountry. We would definitely go back to Maui Hill.

We were quite satisfied with this facility. There was a lot of room and a lot of amenities for the money. i.e. Kitchen, washer/dryier, living room, 2 veradas, 2 baths.

We totally enjoyed our stay at Maui Hill. The staff was very accommadating, maid service was great, they even left the local newspaper at our door every morning. Our suite had all the cooking and cleaning supplies that we needed and the beds were very comfortable. The mature landscaping and well manicured grounds was fantastic. The pool area offered great scenery and ambiance. The Kihei area was very affordable with great shopping and food both in Kihea and Wailea. We would definetly stay at the Maui Hill again. Five stars from us!!
