Hotel's central location makes it a terrific base for sightseeing. Very relaxed, casual stay. Lots of good restaurants nearby (Scotty's BBQ, Hukilau Lanai, Duke's Canoe Club, etc). Great sunset cruise and Napali Coast cruise with Capt Andy's.

Ocean view. Hotel reluctance to provide clean towels and extra coffee for room.

Really good value and easy access to entire island.

Fron desk staff - two of the three I delt with were great the third was functional but she could care less about us staying there. the room - we got an ocean front room that was just that, excellent location. Housekeeping was great, and the room amenities were more than what we expected. the ground were well kept and well done.

Very beautiful, I was surprised the hotel was as nice as it was, considering how inexpensive it was. Can't complain about anything.

Very quiet location. Suggest you need a car to take best advantage of eating out etc., We needed a car for 1 day to see best sights. No pressure from Timeshare touts!

The location of this hotel is very central on the Island. So if you are planning on doing activities all over the Island it is great. The Coconut Market which is right across the street from the hotel is a great place to get Good food and was reasonably priced. Our room was ocean front and had the most wonderful view! We enjoyed our morning coffee on our lanei and enjoyed the beautiful Palm Trees and Ocean so close! There is a walking trail along the ocean in front of this hotel also. The rooms are not large and ours smelled from mildew. The chairs, blinds and curtains had what I would call mold on them. We bought air freshner and managed fine. The air conditioner worked great for sleeping at night. And we had the door to the lanai open when ever we were in our room. The beds were very comfortable! Didn't have much to do with the Hotel Staff. The Sand Bar was a great place to mingel with other hotel guests. (the drinks were great) I suggest going to the Coconut Market to get your Helicopter, Catamoran, Luau, etc tickets. They will save you $$.

When we booked the room, we paid extra for what we thought was an oceanfront room. Turns out, it was an ocean "view" room, which basically meant that when you stood in the room and looked out, all you could see was the building across the way. You had to go out to the rail of the balcony to see the ocean. The lady at the front desk said that this is considered an ocean view room but our research from the hotel's own website led us to believe we were in an oceanfront room. The same lady said that they could upgrade us for $30 more per night. Only problem was that we had already paid extra for the upgrade when we booked the room. Unfortunately she was somewhat rude and argumentative. She wasn't even willing to try to look up the booking to see if there was a discrepancy. If we had not experienced this, we would probably book there again. That is unlikely now. The room was ok though; we did not let that ruin our honeymoon. Fortunately the housekeeping staff was very friendly as was the bartender (once you started talking to her) and the lady who booked our boat trip. The Aston needs to fix their website. They need to clarify the difference between an oceanfront room and an ocean "view" room so they are not misleading people into thinking they are getting something they are not.

We only stayed 1 night, but were most pleased for the money. Rooms have a small, stocked kitchenette so you can save $$ on food costs if you're staying any length of time. The ocean is very rough on that beach. Incredible waves, but not good for swimming. In fact, swimming is not allowed. Superb location only 10 minutes from airport and close to all shopping and dining in Kapa'a. You can watch the sunrise over the ocean from the hotel beach since it's on the island's east side. Our traveling companions thought their room had a slightly musty odor, but ours was fine. For that price, I would not hesitate to stay here again.

The hotel was great! The staff was very friendly to us since we arrived. We stayed at Aston Islander on the Beach for 11 days and had such a wonderful time. Although we never went in the pool it always looked very clean. The beach was also really good. The landscaping was kept very nicely and overall the resort was on the quiet side. Not a lot of traffic noise at all. Overall, we had a great time here!!!

The closeness to the beach! Right out the balcony door! I loved this hotel. The rooms were very clean and neat. The view from the balcony was wonderful right on the ocean. Easy access to the beach. A stop for tour buses also. Room had a small fridge and microwave and sink.

We were more than pleased with our stay at Islander on The Beach. The location provided easy access to the rest of the island with minimal travel; central location. The room was excellant with microwave, refrigerator, and coffeepot which helped with daily breakfast routine. Room service was prompt and the cleaning gals were more than accommadating for our requests. The hotel is set back from the road and thus was quiet and peaceful as well as being close to the beachfront. Even closer to the beach than other surrounding hotels. The beach was clean and ready for swimming or snorkeling. Very nice and we will book again at this hotel.

We just came home from a wonderful stay on Kauai. We had a great stay at the Islander on the Beach. It is a beautiful plantation style property. We had an ocean front room with an amazing view of the ocean. The property has a wonderful relaxing feel to it. The property does not have it's own restaurant - but there are restaurants within walking distance plus sundries shops nearby. It has a great central location on the Coconut Coast. The location made trips to both the north shore & the Poipu area very convenient. We will definitely be going back in the future!

Location was a big plus. Right on the ocean, and a close walk to the Coconut Marketplace, (good shopping) and fine dining next door at Hookelau Lanai. Rather small pool and spa tub. No eating facilities on site. Inadequate parking. The location, right on the beach, (we had an oceanfront room) was beautiful! The rooms were your standard hotel variety, but we had a nice balcony. The mini kitchen saved us from having to go out for breakfast every day, but there was no restaurant on site, so we had to plan our evening meal away from the hotel.

The Resorts Quest Islander on the beach was beautiful. The grounds are very well maintained, rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff was professional . The Coconut Market Place right across the street and the Tradewinds Bar or Tres was fun and great entainment and there's no driving if you have some Mia Tias!! Excellant shopping mall too! I Highly reccommend this location and will look forward to my return!

We have stayed here twice and enjoyed both visits, 11 days and 14 days. We love watching the waves roll in at the beach which is so close. (not a good swimming beach) The grounds are very clean and the staff was friendly, free internet was available in the lobby, the location is very central to going to the north or south. We like that it is not a big hotel complex but a small group of buildings. This is not a resort! Only small problem is running out of parking at night, but no big deal. I love Kealia beach which is just a few miles north for boogie-boarding. We will stay there again, I just hope it's not too many years before I get back...

Centrally location, fairly priced. Behind a shopping center with little signage, difficult to find. Centrally located hotel in Kapaa makes it easy to access the entire island. Initially hard to find since it is located behind a shopping center and there is little signage. Friendly and courteous staff made it easy to check in and out. Great, relaxing environment right on the beach and with a pool.
