obnoxious staff upon arrival, the smell was awful and we had been told no pets although the first morning a dog ran through the kitchen!! th e beds were lumpy and unclean.. staff had let people smoke in the bar which is illegal but when we questioned a member of staff they had told us she let one person smoke although their must have been fourty butts in the ash tray!! We had been charged for a 90 pounds deposit upon out arrival its ridiculous the rates they charge for one double room at 70 quid per head for one night! never recommend this to anyone who want a welcoming stay i would recommend the Etap in leeds or the premier Inn cheap and very welcoming and clean!!

A good place to see HarrogatePlus points about the hotel. It has a number of rooms for single travellers. It is in a good location and within ten minutes you have access to all the amenities in Harrogate, which is a lovely small town/city. Within five minutes are a number of really good restaurants including my favourite, the Biscay Restaurant, http://odtaafiles.com/blog/biscay-bay-restaurant-harrogate. My single room was small, but well designed. There was a kettle, with a variety of teas, coffee and biscuits. The small TV showed all five main channels. There bathroom had quite a few bottles of lotion, shampoo and the towels were changed every day. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. The hotel does have a small bar, with supposedly 100 varieties of whisky. I didn't get around to do this. The hotel seems to cater for groups of golfers.I left something in my room and the staff were helpful in finding it. The area is in a parking zone, but the hotel seems to have some sort of arrangement with permits to allow visitors to park in the street. I would ring to check. The hotel is situated in an area with lots of similar hotels. A couple of minor annoyancesI was made to pay for all three nights in advance. Weekends the breakfast was only from 8:30 to 9. I made a mistake - I turned up on a Sunday morning at 9:30 and although I was able to have cereal and coffee from a pot - it was clear I was not going to get a cooked breakfast. If visiting Harrogate again I would check out other hotels in the area as I would prefer a later breakfast on the weekend. I like to emerge a little late on Sundays.

after a long drive, we had a warm welcome from yoko, my room was at the very top of the house, it was very clean, so was the en-suite bathroom, there was biscuits, milk, coffee tea and more, replenished every day. shampoo and body wash was in the bathroom. Breakfast was first class from full english to veggie option, or lots of other lighter food, including fresh fruit and three different fruit juices. staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. the hotel dog lochie was the icing on the cake, what a lad.four star treatment i would gladly recommend a stay, I was there for three nights and would return. parking was not as bad as some reviews say and yoko gives you a permit for each day, we found a spot every time we returned.

If You're staying in Harrogate and want a friendly B&B this is the one for you!I was attending a friend's wedding and needed a reasonably priced B&B in Harrogate. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. I also thought my room was very good value for money. The ensuite was lovely and the whole room was very clean. I felt safe there, as I was travelling alone, and I also found it to be quite in the evenings. The breakfast was superb and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. I would certainly recommend this B&B to friends and family

A single traveller The hotel and staff were lovely very comfortable room ,loved it . I especialy loved the quiet location no trafic noise . The trouble was I was next door to a couple who screamed at each other using foul language until 5am. I was working so was very tired. this couple should be banned from every hotel in the country .it was horrific . I was so scared . I should have rung reception but was worried it would cause more trouble, they could be dangerous. very drunk i presume so a beautiful stay was ruined for me .

There was no one present to let me in on arrival. The pillows could do with a refresh although the bed was good. The drainage from the bathroom sink needs attention. Door catches seem to cause guests to crash the doors closed waking other guests up.

We felt the hotel was a bit off the beaten track. We had paid £95 for a superior doubleroom which in our opinion was no more than basic, the basic doubleroom at £75 was posted as available on line but when we booked we were told it was'nt so we had to book the superior! Thefood was okay but only available between 8-30 and 9-30. My sister in law was happy with her room although it was small the price was right for her at £47-50. We were attending a wedding and we had difficulty finding a hotel that would book just one night as most had a minimum stay of 2 night at weekends. I was happy with the booking thro Laterooms and would definately use it again, most helpful.

This was my second visit this year to the Ashley House Hotel. Our stay was very pleasant & comfortable although the rooms need some upgrading it was clean & had all that we required for a two night break, the staff were freindly & helpful & Its nearness to the Conference centre was a bonus. Breakfast was well cooked & plentiful. Parking although on street was easy with the parking pass given for our stay. We will stay again next year.

Nice place for a couple of nights in good location, no problem parking on street although the common room was cluttered with a lot of clothing (looked like a charity shop! during my visit.
