OK place but not as boutique as you are lead to believeMy wife and I stayed for a night out in London minus the kids (great!). The Ashburn was completely fine though it made us both think what the basis of its earning four stars is. Its pretty small - they would say its 'boutique', we would repeat that its 'small' - though perfectly adequate. The room was nice, though compact, and the bathroom was very nice. The minibar only had water in it - no drinks or snacks. The furniture was quite nice though not quite right - either you really go for it with the fake period stuff or you dont, this fell somewhere inbetween and turned out to be rather bland. It certainly wasnt the dark wood contemporary stuff described on the site. THe staff were nice though though the bar was closed by midnight and they had no idea where one was open in the vicinity. It felt, on balance, expensive for what it was - especially as a cooked breakfast, though good, was twenty pounds extra. I'd look elsewhere if I was to be staying in the same area.

I add this hotel to my list of charming hotels in London. Excellent location -- right near the Gloucester Rd tube stop. Nice surrounding neighborhoods with good local restaurants and pubs. Our room was on the 1st floor in the back of the hotel -- not much view but it was very quiet. Air conditioning worked great, there was free wireless service, and a big flat screen TV on the wall. Absolute best part was the heated ceramic tile floor in the bathroom. Room was a very nice size. Special thanks to Steven, one of the concierges. He was very helpful in arranging tickets, advising on the neighborhood restaurants, and telling us shortcuts to get somewhere. Great value in terms of what you pay and what you get. Also, nice touch on the small gifts left in the room every night, the toiletries (always well stocked -- kudos to housekeeping). Continental breakfast very good. Staff at the hotel were all very friendly and helpful. There's no exercise room in the hotel -- but the surrounding neighborhood is really nice for a run or a walk. Close enough to walk to Hyde Park.

Very comfortable hotel although the air conditioning only circulated air (rather than cooling it) on the hottest day of our stay - but the rest of the time it worked OK. At the price we paid, it is certainly good value

Our stay was short but very sweet. The hotel staff were incredible. Friendly, helpful and very courteous. The location is amazing, a minute walk to the Tube-Gloucster Station. Beautiful and safe neighborhood-Kensington. The room is equipped with free hi speed internet access, a great large sized safe, and a small fridge. The beds are very comfortable. I would definitely go back and highly recommend the Ashburn hotel.

Nice HotelGood location, about 5 mins from Gloucester Station. Curiously, if you are placed in rooms 7xx, this means you are in thebasement, not the top of the hotel.

The experience we had with the hotel and staff was excellent. Stephen, the concierge, was alway willing to assist us and made arrangements for tours and transportaion, even before we arrived. The rooms were spacious enough and very clean. The windows were very good and the rooms were quiet and cool. The location was very convienent to the Underground and walking distance to museums, the park and Harrods. Greatly recommended for couples.

Great locationStayed with a friend for one night. Excellent location. Room dissappointingly small, but staff friendly and hotel very clean. Couldnt view prepaid movie as there was a problem with the tv in our room but have been told we can have an upgrade next time we book - which we will be doing.

The location of this hotel for our purposes could not have been better--a very short walk to the Gloucester tube station on the Piccadilly Line which goes direct to the National Gallery, the British Museum and the theater district. Our room was very comfortable and elegantly decorated. The staff was very obliging. My only criticism would be that when we arrived they did not have the room type which we had reserved, and they put us in a room which was not of same or similar quality. I brought it to their attention and they gave us a superior double since a room with a king sized bed was not available.

Main reason for trip was to see Eric Clapton at Royal Albert Hall. Met friends there and went to a few museums and just generally walked around different areas of London. Hotel was 2 blocks from Underground - easy to get anywhere - even the airport. Hotel was very clean, staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Gave great recommendations for local restaurants. Gave directions with printed out maps. Glass of champagne every night was a nice touch. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice hotel - no pizza!Just an overnight stop on a business trip, and booked because of good comments on Trip Advisor. Good rate, and very nicely appointed hotel. I was a little disappointed on two counts though. The advertised free glass of champagne was not offered, despite me being in the drawing room at the time (7pm). Also, I didn't want to go our for a meal and was attracted to the offer on notices everywhere that a home-made pizza and a couple of bottles of beer or soft drink were on offer at £10. I asked for this and was told quite curtly that there were no pizzas, and no other meals except sandwiches.Still, had a nice club sandwich.

The hotel was great, the location was handy for getting around, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Learning how to use the toaster at breakfast provided more than a few laughs and was a wonderful bonding experience. Do not hesitate to ask how to use the bath/shower controls the system works quite well when you know what you are doing and have gotten over the embarrassment of being outwitted by the plumbing. I thought we might miss having a fitness center, but all the walking took care of that and was a lot more fun. And we needed to walk because we did not have a bad meal the whole time we were there.

Strange decor and atmosphereGiven a decent sized room on the ground floor. Although there was little or no road noise it felt weird looking out onto the pavement. Shower was cramped and also had a nice view of people walking past! Don't think the person that designed the decor / furnishing was typical British designer. Food at breakfast was fine but layout of buffet was cramped and confused.

This hotel is a little piece of luxury with great service, rooms and attention to detail. Highly recommended. No parking here, there is a car park in the holiday inn opposite at £27.00 a day (ouch. ) The hotel is just inside the congestion charge zone (Approx 30 mtrs) if you want to avoid this find a place to park before it. Otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed our short stay here.

Room very small and a little shabby. Sink was blocked so couldn't use it advised reception - maintenance had gone home. No plug sockets for hairdryer near the mirror! Asked manager to call me - never heard back! Would not stay here again.

Bedrooms very nicely furnished but small. Breakfast room too small for number of guests and disorganised service especially on the sunday morning with foods not being replenished.Champagne on the evening a nice touch.
