If you are going to a Panther's game, this is one of the best places to stay. Granted it's not the finest hotel/motel ever, but if you want someplace that is cheap so that you can afford to have a good time at the game and not have to drive anywhere, then this is the place. The staff is great and very welcoming. The walls may have holes and the showers are a little different, but overall the room was clean and comfortable. The location is also perfect as you can walk downtown to all the fun places that Charlotte has to offer and it is real close to the stadium. This is our second visit to the Ascot and it will be the only place we will stay when going to future football games.

The staff was nice and the location was great. There was a concern with the ac unit it was half way broken and hardly kept the room cool. But for a panthers game I would stay again because of the rates and location

This was a good hotel for the price and our reason for staying. We were going to a concert and only needed the hotel for a place to rest for a few hours before driving home. It was fine for that purpose. I would not stay in this hotel if I would have been spending more time in the room.

Ascot Inn is within easy walking distance of the Charlotte Convention Center. There is a free trolly/bus if your feet are tired. The staff graciously accommodated special requests made at check-in. Motel is old but in good repair; freshly painted and the plumbing worked! Microwave and small refrigerator in the room facilitated using up leftovers from nearby restaurants. free trolly serves downtown area as well but stops running at 6pm (Mon thru Fri service only.) Coffee in the lobby but not much else to eat on the premesis. Owners were very much in evidence and were welcoming and proud of their establishment. Room appointments and bed (king size) were basic but clean.
