nice experiencethe hotel has a fantastic lounge and an atmospheric restaurant. Service was very good apart from during breakfast, when there actually was no service at all.

Checkin was quick and friendly. The room was good sized for England, although laid out slightly oddly, with a raised platform making up about a quarter of the room space. The bathroom was large, new, and had good water pressure in the shower. The restaurant was pricey, but the room service menu was also served in the bar, and was very reasonable and tasty, plus the atmosphere was elegant and relaxing. Breakfast in the Cloisters Restaurant was tasty with a pretty extensive cold buffet included. Large parking lot on site.

The hotel is comfortable and the rooms are spacious. Staff are very friendly and attentive. The food is good. The hotel is very close to public transport and to the city. Having stayed there on many occasions, would not hesitate to stay again.

Tired and wornThe hotel sits on a main road and my bedroom was extremely noisy, the picture in late rooms was carefully taken to blot out its busy location. Staff good, friendly and helpful, food very good, room - drab, tired and needs updating, in fact the whole hotel needs updating.

Very expensive accommodation given the poor quality of the rooms. Very old mattress, stained with holes in and mildew all over ceiling. A travel inn would have been cheaper and better quality.

Great value for money, lovely building and roomWe were very happy with our stay, the interior and exterior of the building was beautiful, really great value for money. The only really small let down was the customer service as we were forced to take a double room rather than a twin and the service at breakfast time was a little slow. However, because we were so happy with everything else there was no need to complain.

Hotel nightmareHotel very tired and in need of refurb. My room, whilst spacious, was very outdated and the bathroom was not particularly inviting. The worst part of the room was the location right next to the busy A4 Bristol-Bath road. The single glazed window behind the sash window failed dismally to shut out the traffic noise. This was only momentarily silenced between the late night traffic at 3.30am and the start of the commuters at 5am. I managed to sleep during this period only !!If you stay in this or adjacent rooms take the best noise resistant ear plugs that you can find.A buffet breakfast was supplied - nothing special. The duty manager was very welcoming and helpful. It is a pity the hotel detracted from her efforts. She suggested I walk to my seminar next morning (Ramada) as it would be as quick as driving. Whilst well meaning this was an error of judgement. I was told it would take 10 - 15 minutes. After 23 minutes of power walking, rather hot, windswept and dirty from the passing traffic (insufficient paving so I had to face the oncoming traffic which was predominantly buses and lorries) I arrived 5 minutes after the seminar had started feeling quite uncomfortable.Do not undertake this unless you are a sherpa and you can carry a change of clothing in a backpack.Next I stay in Bristol I will be more selective.

Exceptional quality for the price.Staff was great...24hr bar...service was excellent...breakfast was perfect...one room was really nice the other room was not as great but you can't beat it for the price...facilities are old but well kept.

Very friendly staff and good value for moneyThe staff were very friendly, eager to help. The food was fine, service was good. The room was quite neat. There is a small step near the lift across the restaurant which is quite a surprise! Should have a sign there to attract attention towards it. Overall a very nice experience.

best in towninitial reaction was that this was a tired old dump. wrong! yes place is a bit tired and coulod do with a refurb but room was spotless and well furnished. however, the tiredness is more than compensated for by wonderful staff who were to a man and woman competent helpful and hospitable, a real home from home. maybe not the place for a romabtic weekend but for business user or tourist wanting good value for money this is the place. my regular stop when in bristol from now on

A warm welcome & restFollowing a 300+ mile car drive, it was a joy to easily locate and arrive (park) with ease.An extremely polite and helpful receptionist guided us to our room. The only `minor' criticism would be the hardnest of the bed but that's trivial in the grand scheme of things.

Another entrance to be able to walk throught the perimiter wall from the main road into hotel grounds without having to walk all the way to the barrier would help.

Our meal in the restaurant was very poor. The food was served luke warm and out dessert was inedible.Breakfast was much better, self-service buffet and plenty of choice.
