Location. Not enough parking. Good central location everything within walking distance. Good location to the downtown area and mass transit systems.

I recently spent a Saturday night at The Arena and must say there are better choices. The whole hotel, even the non-smoking rooms, smell like stale smoke. The rooms are noisy and include a refrigerator that must be turned off at night to get some sleep. The included "dinner" on Saturday night consisted of iceberg lettuce, croutons and Ranch dressing;hope you like Ranch. Cheese, crackers, chips and salsa were also available. Breakfast was decent, with fresh scrambled eggs available, plus French toast, pancakes, cereal, fruit, yogurt, etc. The corned beef hash was the obviously canned and served soupy. The neighborhood is mostly empty with boarded up businesses; the next door liquor store attracts a less-than-savory clientele. Staying closer to the airport would be a better choice.

Good place not a bad deal. Nothing. I would visit again.

My wife and I stayed here for four nights while visiting my dad and had a very enjoyable experience. Being a smaller hotel, all areas were easily accessible which means a short walk from the parking area to your room and to the dining area. The breakfast and supper buffets were a welcome inclusion to the already low cost to stay here. Access to a computer in the lobby was a plus as well, to print out our boarding passes for our flight home. I can not see spending twice as much somewhere else when you have the comfort and convenience at this hotel. We will definitely stay here when we return to San Jose.

Great location, garden setting and friendly staff.

Stayed there for a concert at HP Pavilion. The hotel was great for the price we paid. The room was pretty standard, clean, a little dated. We took advantage of the free dinner and breakfast. Nothing fancy, but it saved us some money and time not having to eat out. The location was the best feature, since it was a very short walk to the concert and we saved on parking. We will definitely stay there again if we go to an event at the Pavilion.

Room was awesome & close to our concert. We didn't stay long enough.

I loved the in room jacuzzi. Exactly what I expected. Our king size bed room had brokenAC so got moved to a 2 queen room. Great stay. Good morning breakfast. Just disappointed that we had to queen size beds instead of One king. Little less romantic.

I booked this hotel because I was going to the HP Pavilion and let me tell you I am not sorry one bit I chose to stay at this place! The inside is beautiful and clean and the rooms are very clean with very comfortable beds, a full size refridgerator, a microwave and a huge jacuzzi tub. We walked to the Pavilion and it took us about 5 minutes so we didn't have to pay for parking or a cab which was excellent. The girl who was working at the check in was very friendly and helpful. Many of the hotels/motels were much more money but I tell you I got a great room and excellent service for much less money. It was quiet and they also offered a full breakfast and taco's and salad bar at night that was free. I didn't eat any of the food but found it nice that it was offered. I will definitely stay at the Arena Hotel anytime I go to see an even in San Jose!

It is a boutique hotel. Breakfast didn't have hot cereal, dinner is really lunch! I would stay at this hotel again.

The bed was much more comfortable than at another 2 star hotel I tried the 1st night. I still used my own pillows, but I slept OK. The air conditioner had a service light on, that was fixed within about 10-20 minutes of my call. The room didn't feel dirty, but smelled a bit of air freshener or cleaning products. Nothing a day of the window being open didn't fix. I had a fan that worked well, but squeaked (so couldn't use while slept). The fridge worked well, but the compressor was noisy (so turned off at night). And AC worked OK, but could have been cooler. Jacuzzi tub was a neat freebee, but isn't as nice as a full size Jacuzzi (couldn't get the jets to hit my back and had to sit cross legged in it). Was kind of nice to be able to spin in the shower without hitting the walls accidentally (it is wider than a usual tub). Only had 1 meal and it was decent. Nothing super special, but had a few choices (soup + 2 kinds of lazagna + couple salads + desert). Not really much nearby as far as restaurants or shops. Nice part of that means there isn't a ton of traffic, but I did pass 2 papers about new bars opening soon (liquor license notices). And it is pretty close to just about any freeway you'd need in San Jose. All around I'd go back if I visited SJ again.

Beautiful mirrored lobby and spacious room. Jet tube put out a sort of funk when turned on so we didn't use the jets. I loved this hotel. It was beautiful and very convenient for seeing a show at the Arena. We were served a full breakfast and a salad like dinner. The room was a smoking room and needed a little more ventilation but was otherwise great. It was very spacious and comfortable.

We stayed at this hotel because it was close to the airport. The rooms were clean and quite large. The grounds were well kept. We did not eat breakfast or dinner so can not comment. Would definately stay again.

Perfect location for event at HP Pavilion. No airline miles.

Room had lots of space but was not very clean, was well used with open plaster repairs on the wall. Kitchen Appliances were old and in poor condition. No remote control in the room when checked in, and the replacement unit provided did not work properly. Air conditioner very noisy had someone come and look at it, they messed around and it got better but 10 minutes after the left it was back the same. Could not use it at night, and windows would not open (latches broken) and it was very hot - uncomfortable stay. Maybe I was unlucky, the lobby / outside of the hotel seemed very clean and respectable. Would not stay here again, also the online travel website price ended up being more than the "special" advertised price outside the hotel on the street. Bummer.

Right next to the HP arena. Very long walk to the room. Quite adequate. Nothing extraordinary, but very clean and pleasant. If I go to another hockey game I'll certainly book here again.

"On a biz trip for a week. Didn't try the free breakfast but did do the dinner & it's plain but quite acceptable for being a plain offering. Salad, entree, jello/pudding & beverage, + cute but disinterested female kitchen staff. Free cookies in the lobby yum. Jacuzzi is a nice touch & appreciated. Bought some bath salt spa thing next door at the newly built big box drugstore & relaxed after a long day. Free wifi was speedy & room was clean-ish, carpet could use a good steam clean tho, room was quiet, microwave & fridge are a great touch. Wish there was a fitness facility tho."

The fact that they provide a nice breakfast and dinner for guests Beds were comfortable but to soft and tv seletion was minimal the hotel was in a great location, staff was wonderfully helpful, the stay was very comforting, the full kitchen in the suite were wonderful and the 2 person jaccuzzi tubs in the rooms were fabulous

"The free full breakfast and dinner were great. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Decor needs to be modernized and there is no gym onsite, everything else was great! Jacuzzi tub was excellent!"
