We would recommend Hotel Agia due to the fact that it is quite economical, the rooms are spacious and clean and the staff helpful enough. We ate at the hotel's restaurant both nights and found the meals sufficient, tasty and a reasonable price (for Europe). The spectacled gentleman who served us at the restaurant was most amicable and likeable and couldn't do enough for us, although he had limited English. The manager was most helpful providing directions and advice. Breakfast was plentiful and provided a tasty variety to suit most international travellers. Negatives: no welcome by the receptioniste who was attending another customer... not even a "hello"... just a few grunts and a "wait for the other receptioniste" who soon came in and again, no welcome as such. The room, although visibly clean, had an unpleasant odour and the antiquated aircon was very noisy. Windows couldn't be opened as the road in front of the hotel was very busy and noisy (however with shut windows - triple glazed, it was quiet but too warm and stuffy as we couldn't have the noisy aircon on)

Hotel is a 20 minute walk from city center and quite far from train station and from the lake. However there is relaible bus service to these locations. You must transfer downtown to get to train station or lake. Hotel neighborhood is not interesting.

The hotel is clean and confortable, breakfast abundant. Anyway it is quite far from the lake, so I always had to take the car.
