First of all the rooms have bugs in them and the beds are like sleeping on bricks and we needed roomservice everyday and they only came like 2 days out of the week stay we had to keep asking for towels ..etc.. the food was the same exact thing everyday just cooked a different way and put a diferent name on it and made several or my family members sick and vomited.. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone not even if they were desperate .

We were a group of 20 with 5 rooms. We requested all together and ocean view and we did not get that. The beds are very hard and the quilts are rough. The showers (only) are horrible. Leaks all over the bathroom floor. The beach is Marina side and that is what it is. Seaweed galore. The outdoor entertainment was okay , best when XYZ was on duty. The indoor entertainment was okay. Pools were good - hot tubs were not hot but both closed just at dark - too early. 2 1/2 star I guess is correct. All should be treated equal.

Overall I had a great time on vacation with my family; however, I would never recommend this resort to anyone other than Mexican heritage and/or spanish speaking people...as they are the only ones who get true service....drinks brought to them around the pool, etc. Americans don't...you have to get up and get your own drink; and, beware...the bars close earlier for you!!!!! The food wasn't bad, but be prepared to eat the same thing all week for a limited amount of time.....and get bad service even if you tip good. Certain things are not available to you (like soda for breakfast) that is unless you are Mexican. And....be prepared to pay for broken things that you did not break.....while on vacation a pool sign had gotten broken...right away it was my cousins fought even though he had been in bed during the supposed time of the incident (that is all 4 different times given). Everyone that was with him tried to explain what had happened...but they didn't want to hear it. 4 different guards gave 4 different stories as to what happened...all ridiculous and impossible in nature...but still we were made to pay or go to jail! And after....all the staff and guards sat around us callling us gringos and pointing and laughing in my cousin's face. They said that we would be sorry for writing a bad review. At that time we had found out that 4 other americans had had stuff stolen from their room and had incidences such as us. Bottom line....DON'T TRUST ANY OF THE WORKERS. O and beware of the cock roaches and maides just walking in your room even when the do not disturb sign is out. PS one cock roach was placed under my door by a security guard....!!!

The rooms are a bit rundown. There is nothing special about the room. It's literally beds w/ a counter space and a bathroom that smells like mildew. There are not any drawers and not really a real safe. We had expected a little bit better than what we got. I would recommend only booking 5 stars in Cancun.

"aquamarina is a older hotel on the end of the hotel zone. It can use some improvements in all areas but all in all it's ok... after reading the other reviews we weren't expecting much... it's not the Ritz. It's just very basic, but all in all we had a BLAST!!!"

"The rooms are nothing like the pictures it is run down, smelly, old sheets and bedspreads, old towels all dirty. Service crappy!!! No beach it is for the boats, sea weed no place to swim. Go to another place!!!"

"Everything was horrible from the beginning to the end of our travel experience. The staff hounded us and treated us like criminals. They need a serious lesson in customer service. Next the amenities were very deceptive from the pictures. It did not state that it was a motel which is what we got. A ran down, old, awful smelling facility. The air condition leaked in the room. DON'T DO IT!!!!"

"The ugliest beach, look out of room at seaweed and boats. Food was the worst. Dinner buffet served at breakfast with scrambled eggs. Lost 10 lbs. by not eating. Everyone hotel had their hand out for hotel; electricity went out several times; stayed on 5th floor the elevator never worked."

This hotel was absolutely horrible. Fine if you need a quick night to stay. IThank goodness this is not where our vacation was at and we just needed a bed for one night.

"This is a small, old hotel, and for the price I paid, is just good for sleeping. The beach is small. I did not try the food. You can smoke in all the rooms, which I prefer to get a room that has not been smoked in, and the staff kept the room clean. It needs lots of updates, such as new beds, make sure that the TV works (not that I needed it, but for the few minutes I used it the remote did not work). Lastly, the ""time-share"" people would bug us, constantly calling the room, trying to get us to meet with them, after telling them NO many times."

"never go all inclusive waste of money, after all you spend more time in other locations unless you spend all your trip in hotel.I read never do all inclusive but had to check it out for myself maybe in a 5 star hotel I would try all inclusive?very disspointed with food. service in all Areas was exellent.found a place next to (COCO BONGO) called the Cabana Beach Club $10.00dls per person $20.00dls for a cabana exellent beach great drinks lots of relaxation Must see.Questions Send Me an Email"

We had a group of five and they upgraded us to a 2-storey suite for free. it was great. It's definately not the swankiest place but we had a blast and wanted to spend most of our time away from the hotel anyway...didn't try the food

"Never recommand to anyone, That is a most terrible hotel with most horrible staff that I ever met . "

"This hotel is only good for those visitors who do not like the beach and do not want to enjoy the sea. We were very disappointed to see that 'beach' was literaly a docking area for yachts, with no beach facilities available. We DO NOT recommend this hotel for young couples or those who like to participate in different activities. As this is a small hotel, only one bar and restaurant was opened at a time. This was not clear from the description on the website."

We ended up moving to another resort. We were totally mis-led by Web site. There was no entertainment unless the small tv playing MTV videos at bar counted. Food was disgracful. Drinks watered down. Pool was dirty and pool bar not operational. Rooms reaked of mildew and mold. Will NEVER NEVER go back to this hotel. It should be torn down.

"when we checked in we found a lizard on the wall, my wife was terrified,we wanted to change the room, they did after a fight, they said it was a domestic animal and we shouldn't pay attention to it. I wouldn't recommend hotel to my worst enemy."

"The staff was great. Espicially the bartenders. Go on the isla mujertes tour, its a blast. The rooms were bad. No alarm clock, no fridge. Not a very good safe. We were really disappointed when we saw the room. We will not stay here again, but will come back to Cancun."

"first day there we encountered problems with check-in, but the situation was fixed. The bathrooms are very small w/ stand up shower. They didn't have an ironing board, but provide you with an iron...the food was bland. I was expecting some type of authentic mexican food. The breakfast was horrible they didn't even have bacon and their miniture sauages look like red potatoes didn't even touch em'. The drinks were not so, great since they were using their domestic brand of liquor. Over all, if you are looking for a place to rest your head this might be your best bet "

"The staff were very nice and accommondating to your needs. However, the buffet food was sometimes bland and they don't serve bacon or ""real"" sauages for breakfast(?). Their bathrooms are way too small. The hotel was clean otherwise. The pool had daily activities going on during the afternoon. I was a little upset at the fact they provide you with an iron, but didn't have an ironing board. Overall, if you are just looking for a hotel to rest your head this place will definitely provide that."
