Hotel was convenient - tram stop close by & 15 min tram to Dam square.Room for 5 was good & value for money, however 1 bed was in an annex with glass ceiling, so awake at first light.Staff were curt at best, had to prove e-mail confirmation to get breakfast, which was nothing special.On checking out staff were only concerned with checking condition of room - obey the house rules.

Hotel is in a quiet neighborhood, nice area for walking in the evenings and right on the tram line. Our room was a "typical" European style, in a converted home with three twin beds, compact bathroom, small TV with a variety of channels. Free internet access was a real plus. We were surprised that our room did not include breakfast, as we thought we had booked a room with breakfast - but we were able to add breakfast when we needed it. Mostly quiet room, backing up to a garden/courtyard. Not a fancy place, but more than servicable for our family's needs. We would recommend it and would stay there again ourselves.

Very cute hotel overall. Our room wasn't very big, nor the bathroom, but it was cozy with great high ceilings and a big window. We were in the back, so it was nice and quiet, though I wish some late-night folk had not been smoking right below our window. The continental breakfast was included and was quite nice - breads, sliced meat and cheese, oj, tea, coffee, cereal and yogurt. I loved the location - very pretty neighborhood and easy to reach via the tram (as there was no shuttle from the airport; we had to take a train and tram - but cheaper than a taxi!) I liked the look of the hotel, but the stairs were *very* steep (the hotel is in a couple old converted houses), and there was no hotel. I wish I had known about that. It was quite a pain trying to haul three suitcases up very steep steps. Be forewarned, the walls were rather thin too, and we had some noisy neighbors coming in late and making quite a racket. The bed was very comfortable, the coverlet very soft, and I did sleep well, so I'm glad for that. Overall, I liked it and would go back though I'd ask for a ground-level floor this time!

Sight-Seeing SavingsThought the room was small, and there were few restaurants in area, this site was handily on bus route to central city (short ride) and in quiet residential neighborhood.

I was writing a final paper for a law course before starting my travels so wanted to find something somewhat quiet with Internet access. First off, Orbitz didn't send or the hotel did not have my reservation so they kept hassling me about it for 2 days instead of sorting it out with Orbitz even after I gave them the file number. The guy was somewhat friendly just for the fact that he gave me a room even though he couldn't find my reservation but did make me give him my credit card (still have been monitoring that as I wouldn't be suprised if they charged, even after I paif Orbitz. The main manager lady is totally rude and shouldn't even be in the service Industry...ESPECIALLY in the Netherlands who pride themselves with the friendliest people in Europe. The hotel is very old and has very narrow, steep and winding stairways...to which I had to carry my luggage up 3 flights...no lift. The Internet connection is horrendous...barely worked the whole time I was there. which was unfortunate b/c I needed it for research for my paper. I checked as soon as I could and am now cozy in a great place finishing my paper.

When we arrived, we were told the hotel was "over booked." However, the wonderful young Asain woman receptionist was so gracious as she had made arrangements before our arrival at the Atlanta Hotel at Rembrandtplein. She even did a confimation at the Alanta, twice, so we were comfortable with what eventually transpired. True cutomer service at its best. (The Atlana was so much closer to the central business district, too.)

An excellent hotel for a break with friends, the room for 5 was a good size and price. The hotel was quite far from the centre but the trams were easy to catch from close by.

This hotel is fine, but very a bit expensive considering it´s rather far from the center and not an upmarket hotel. I know that hotels are expensive in Amsterdam, and the manager did remark that his hotel is one of the cheapest in Amsterdam on LateRooms - I guess I just don´t understand why hotels are two or three times more expensive in Amsterdam!! I was a bit upset when I was charged the City Tax on top of the LateRooms rate, and then a 3% charge for paying by credit card. I think that the price quoted should just be a TOTAL price (just include all of the fees!!!) -- even if the fine print explains this. It´s just irritating to have two charges tacked on to what is supposed to be a special price on a website. In any case, the hotel is acceptable, just not the bargain that I get in other cities.

from the start the reception staff were rude and ubrupt, we were spoken to as if children and no attention was givin to the fact that we were customers. we didnt get clean towels and the food was terrible. Ill never stay there again!

The Hotel is easy to access to city centre by tram, but it isn't too close to walk to city centre.The price of two nights stay was different to what we have been quoted. The room we got was very close to breakfast room and the stairs, so it was very noisy.

The hotel was good value (for a family of 4 in one room) and was in an ideal location near Vondel Park & the main museums. The staff were fairly friendly & even helped with booking on-line for Anne Franks house to save queuing. The one downside was breakfast which was distinctly average - but overall we enjoyed our stay & would recommend the hotel.

Lovely little hotel in a nice area of amsterdam. Easy tram ride to the city centre (just take tram 2 to central station) It is also just down the road from a brilliant bakery. Highly recommended to groups on a budget.

The beds were a bit uncomfortable (think camp-beds) and it's a bit of a walk to the centre of town; about 30mins at least. The stairs are also very small and very steep. But the breakfast was nice and we had a very pleasant stay.

The hotel was fine. It was nothing special, but for £20 a night, we didn't expect it to be! Room seemed clean enough, we never got up in time for breakfast though! We didn't have any real dealings with the staff, but they seemed pleasant enough. The only complaints that I would have would be that the stairs were really awkward to climb up and extremely difficult with a case! Also the windows opened really wide which is a major health and safety issue.

The Apple Inn was much as described, it was an old tall house. If you have ANY problems with mobility do not stay here!! We were on the 2nd floor and it was about 120 steep and winding steps to our room, hell to get the luggage up and down. The good things were it was on a tramline directly into the centre of town. Also it is in a very nice area which has lovely cafes and shops and very near the Vogelpark, great for evening picnics if the weather is up to it! The breakfasts were pretty awful and the woman on duty was very surly and never spoke to you, shame as the reception staff were lovely!! Good location, traditional Dutch house.
