It would have been nice if we knew that the "lift" was out of order before we booked the room. They put us on the fourth floor! Luckily, we asked to be moved and was put on the 3rd floor (not much better). Other than that, the staff was nice and helpful. The food prices were outrageous. Obviously, we didn't eat there. The room was of adequate size, however, we weren't amused that they had pushed two twin beds together and called the room a "king".

The location was close to the Haymarket train station. The next time, I will stay at the Waterloo location because it more centrally located to the tour buses, Princes Mall and Royal Mile.

Great hotel with very friendly staff and nicely decorated rooms. Food was excellent and overall service was of a high standard. We stayed during the New Year so the price was higher than I would of liked.

The Apex European is a reasonably good hotel that is too expensive given the location and amenities. There's substantial street noise, the ""king"" bed was two twins pushed together with inadequate padding, and the Internet access was an incredible rip-off. The breakfast is fine but worth nowhere near the price even if included in the room rate.You can get a better deal for an equivalent or better hotel elsewhere."

Not worth the cost given the location and road noise and alternatives. The breakfast isn't worth GBP 10 and the cost of Internet access is a real rip-off. Mediocre over all but it's clean and the staff are friendly.

The room was on the small side, the double bed was two singles on one of which the mattress was horribly soft and worn, and the armchair in the room was broken. But the freshly cooked breakfasts were excellent.
