Pleasant stay and quiet.Hotel was fine. Staff were very friendly. Air conditioning didn't work in the room. The Hotel had supplies a fan though. Very little air in the room. Maybe we were just unlucky with the weather. It was very humid

The hotel is nice...slightly above average in room size, decor, etc. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the location is perfect. Just a short walk to the Royal Mile...lots of restaurants, shops and bars right on Grassmarket.

Good location, friendly staff, clean, internet is included. My room is closed to the front of the hotel, a bit noisy to open the window.

This place was perfect for us. We had to get two rooms with our two teens. The rooms were comfortable---and we loved the view. Edinburgh castle is just out the window. The next morning we crossed the street and walked up the steps and we were there. There are restaurants nearby (we ate at a great Italian place across the street and a nearby Indian place up Victoria street). We did not take advantage of the breakfast (pricey for us) but got some great breakfast sandwiches at a little shop down the street on the other side of the Apex International. The staff was very helpful with our questions---our early morning cab was waiting on time. The computer in the business center wouldn't work in the evening and no one could fix it---but I didn't need to check my e-mail anyway!Everything was perfectly quiet and we felt very safe on the streets nearby.I had a hard time operating the TV (too many remotes) but I had a teenager along to fix it!Loved the deep tub with the rubber ducky and the great smelling bath products. Nice selection of teas and a little snack in the room--included.

I arrived tired from the US and it was no problem to check in early. When I got to Scotland, I found that my cell phone didn't work. The front desk allowed me to make local calls to contact those whom I was visiting. Free internet on the second floor was a great convienence. I plan to stay at Apex City again.

A terrific place to stay for the Edinburgh Festival, close to most main venues. Comfortable and helpful staff.

We needed a clean hotel close to the castle, shopping and pubs.... The first room we were given had black hairs all over the sheets and in the bathroom. After much argument the night clerk moved us to a different room which was cleaner. Around 1 a.m. in the morning the "loud" couple in the next room woke my grandchild with their moans and screams. NOT KID FRIENDLY. We had to pound on the wall to get them to stop the noise. The neighborhood is not a safe environment as another patron expressed. When the sun goes down the creepy street people come out from the alleys. Thus, we will NOT stay there again. We love to visit Edinburgh and all of Scotland. For the high prices at the Apex we will go back to B&B's without stress, with clean rooms, and with reasonable prices.

Wasn't too happy when I called reception to inform them that I was going to stay in the room until 2pm and in that 2 extra hours a cleaner came in 3 times. I fully understand that they have a job to do but the late departure service is available so I think there was a lack of communication there.

This hotel is hardly 4-star quality, but still a very good value for the special Orbitz rate given its location and helpful staff. The rooms are small for two people, but one usually doesn't spend a lot of time in the room on vacation. The television had only five channels, not good for winding down after a great day of sightseeing. The location is outstanding. Almost everything is walking distance! There is a little noise from the Grassmarket street, but not enough to bothersome. The breakfast is very good and well worth the money.

A friend and I stayed here for a week and loved its location and its friendly staff. Our room was small but very clean and well supplied with everything we needed. It got a little noisy some nights but not too badly; it was centrally located and we felt perfectly safe there.

No adequate ventilation to room on a hot night - result no sleep

The Apex City is in a good location. The room we were given was very spacious and the bath/shower area was very large. There was a lot of closet space as well. The towel warmer was a great plus. The hotel also provided free internet access and a wonderful selection of free snacks in the room. The staff at the desk were very friendly and helpful. There were also many selections for breakfast. Although we did not utilize it, the Apex has a sister hotel (only a couple doors down the street) which has a swimming pool, sauna, and steam room that can be used by hotel guests at no extra charge.

The Apex City Hotel was very nice. I liked the location (close to shopping, pubs, Edinburgh Castle). I expected the room to be a little larger & nicer for a ""Four Star Hotel"". But it was very clean & nice. I would have wished for more TV channels (they have only about 7). And though it was right across from several pubs, there was never any loud noise coming from them to keep me awake at night. I enjoyed this hotel & would recommend it to friends.

I asked the two on reception lots of questions about the city, transport links and things to do which they answered patiently and thoroughly. They switchwed my room to one with a bath and let me keep the rubber duck, the perk of the room. Good hotel.

apex reviewstaff are friendly and helpful, accommodation is clean and very nice looking, only downside was lack of air con as room could get hot and stuffy, that aside it was a highly enjoyable place to stay and very good value for money, i would return again without hesitation

midweek breakAccomodation was very comfortable and staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was one of the best we have had and we did receive a discount on food. Only one complaint was that we found the pillows too soft but it wont put us of staying there again.
