I enjoyed my stay here. The twin room was spotless and spacious. The staff was attentive and accommodating. Enjoyed the Western/Japanese breakfast buffet. (My food was hot). Easy to get to and from train station. Loved the location.

Breakfast is good compared to other hotels in Japan--includes juice, eggs, meat and Japanese favorites. Went Geisha spotting and saw a bunch two nights in a row. Staff is nice!

If you want to see Gion, this hotel location is perfect.

The room was a little too small for 3 people. Wished we had a bigger room and a double or queen for my wife and I and a single for my daughter. Her bed had some broken springs which made it uncomfortable for her. Breakfast was good, but a change of menu once in a while would be better.

Perfect location close to lots of bars, restaurants, shops and transport. Very clean hotel, breakfast was very good. Room was bigger than expected after staying in Tokyo for a week, stayed in twin room, bathroom very small but not a problem really. Overall would definitely recommend this hotel - by no means luxurious but practical, comforable and perfect for a trip to Kyoto.

This hotel is located in a great spot for access to the Gion area. We saw a Geisha while walking the streets at night. It was also close to the great shopping and dining area. It was close to a lot of the shrines and temples. The rooms were acceptable for a hotel of this standard. The bathroom needed a make over but was functional. The room came with breakfast with both western and Japanese food available, although it was cold but edible. The staff were very nice, they spoke and understood enough English to get our message across. They gave us a late check out at 1pm. In terms of it's location, it can't be beaten so the other minor complaints can be overlooked.

We loved the location in the older section of Kyoto, bus connections were close and easy. The hotel's breakfast buffet was excellent.

the hotel was clean, convientient and the location was amazing!!my only critisim would be that the breakfast buffet needs to be hot, the food was cold making it less appetizing to eat. Other than that the hotel met my expectations.

Fantastic location! Next to the shopping area of Shijo Dori and the narrow streets of gion. We booked a twin bedded room, it was spacious and clean and had all the facilities you need. Will definitely book it again.

Gion is a lovely part of Kyoto and the hotel is in a fabulous location, very convenient to a train station and handy to bus services, therefore making it easy to get around to see all the sights. We are a family of three - we found the hotel very clean and comfortable - although with three beds in the room, it did not leave any "walking space". The bathroom was also tiny. The buffet breakfast was nice but we quickly got sick of exactly the same food each day. Service was good and staff friendly. I thought the price was too high for such a small room.

I have stayed at this hotel 2 times. The rooms are small but clean. Breakfast was a buffet with both Western and Japanese cuisine - very good. The location is excellent, right in the heart of Gion. The bus stops to many sightseeing locations are right near the hotel. It is very easy to get the bus to the hotel from Kyoto railway station.
