We flew to Pisa then caught the train to Florence for a two day stay this was so easy (£12). The hotel was in a fantastic location meaning everything within easy reach, staff really friendly, info and maps available. Hotel had two terraces at the top awesome views for both could see the Duomo and other historic buildings and overlooked the river. A little gem! Definately go back!!!

The Antica Tornabuoni is my new favorite hotel in Florence. I can't think of a single negative thing to say about the hotel, the location, the staff, etc. Top marks all around.

We had a marvelous time in Florence! The hotel was a bit difficult to find as Via Tornabouni is not on all city maps. FYI, the street is located one bridge to the west of Ponte Vecchio perpendicular to the Arno River, near the stores Ferragamo, Tiffany, and Prada (as points of reference should you need to ask directions from a local...no one we asked, even the police officer, seemed to have heard of the street itself). We were greeted by Paola, a very warm and courteous staff member who personally showed us to our room and gave us a tour of the hotel's lounge and balconies. This location CAN NOT be beat! It is central to nearly everything you will want to see/visit/do while in Firenze; the museums, galleries, gardens, shopping, eating, etc! Our room, 403, was spacious and clean; much larger than comparable rooms we've stayed in in other parts of Europe. It had a nice view of the Duomo! Take advantage of the rooftop bar/patio...it offers some of the most amazing views you will see, especially at sunset! The only suggestion we have for the hotel would be to offer the guests wireless internet access in the rooms. My other half needed to do a bit of company work while we were away and it was a small hassle to find an internet cafe...there is one about a 5 minute walk to the west and across the next bridge "down"! We plan to visit Florence again in the future and will most definitely stay at the Residenza d'Epoca Antica Torre di Via Tornabuoni!

The "suite" we got consisted of one stark bedroom with on window that you had to step up to see out of, and a cot in an efficiency kitchen area -- hardly the romantic look advertized. There was street noise. To top it off the water in the frig cost 2.30 eur!

We had the most amazing time at this hotel. A real gem, right in the centre, with terraces overlooking the Duomo and the river. The honesty bar was a nice feature, meaning you could enjoy a drink on the terrace whenever you felt like it.

If you want everything that a Florence hotel can provide then stay here at Antica Torre di via Tornabuoni. Absolutely perfect. The terrace is beautiful and the room and facilities perfect for our 40th Wedding Anniversary celebrations to Tuscany.

Superb value for money! Wonderfully bright, airy rooms in a superb location. All modern conveniences in a historic building. The views of Florence from our room and the roof terrace were superb. Staff were very helpful and happy to accomodate all our requests. Owner plans to add a rooftop bar to the terrace in near future and it will then be one of the most attractive, romantic drinking spots in the city. Will certainly come again.
