this place was fantastic for location, just around the corner literally from barberini station and a 10 min walk from termini. the hotel was clean, had air con, was comfortable and very quiet so we slept brilliantly here. we enjoyed this hotel, even though a little daggy in the decor it could do with a renovation, but it is good value for money and in a good spot. breakfast was also very good here.

DO NOT STAY HERE! Room was dirty, front desk staff was rude (one nice person but i do not recall his name...others were simply rude). Shower dirty with shower head at chest level. Carpets are threadbare, stained, and worn...maybe dirty difficult to tell. Sheets dirty, bathroom floor dirty. This place was NOT updated in 1991...more like 1971. Hard mattresses, tiny TV, old furnishings. No ammenities - internet did not even work at higher than normal prices for access.I'd stay on the subway overnight rather than stay here again.

Nice service and nice location. However, doesn t deserve 4 stars as the shower is really low and not adjustable, ceiling was run down and cutlery was in plastic...

this hotel was brilliant for location and pricing. it is a daggy hotel which probbaly needs a renovation, but the aircon worked, the room was quiet, which meant we could sleep and as i said it is right around the corner from barberini station, so was the perfect spot to stay and i would stay there again for sure. breakfast was also good here.

This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I do quite a bit of traveling, and this place was far and away the worst. The service is extremely rude. They convieniently ""lost"" my party's reservation and had us stay in 2 seperate rooms for 100 euro more than the origional reservation. We arrived very late and did not have time to find another hotel, they definitely took advantage of the situation. Stay away.

I've stayed at the Anglo Americano Hotel Rome five times - this best shows that I like it! It is a perfect hotel for tourist stay in Rome - very nice situated in friendly neighbourhood, it's clean, the staff is helpful and friendly, breakfast is great (especially comparing with most other hotels I've been to in Italy). Pricing is good for the great location and the relatively good standard - in central Rome! So, I'm happy to recommend it!

Breakfast was good. Air conditioner was ineffective - didn't bother to complain as I heard other guests complaining about theirs - what was the point? No power points in the rooms other than one in bathroom for general use.

Staff were not very helpful.Room was adequate for the budget but could have been a bit cleaner ie floor was not vacuumed.Air conditioning was uneven.Nonetheless enjoyed the stay, breakfast was great and would stay again as location was close to sights and transport.

Very poor internet access. It was expensive and they did not have any internet cards available whatever they are. In this day and age all reasonable hotels should provide such facilities that are inexpensive and accessible.

Too expensive for an hotel of this standard. Some of the staff was not servce minded at all.

Great location, nice staff - perfectly suitable hotel with a bit of old world charm. The rooms are clean but small and a little tired. Staff were helpful. Air-conditioning did not work well and the shower was ridiculously small. While not luxurious, it is pleasant and safe.

I dont know if you can call this a four star hotel. If you had problem with your back, do not stay at this hotel! The mattress is too hard, even my children were complaining about it. The room really needs a refurbishing. The breakfast was ok, and I really like the cappuccino, made in the bar. But, disregarded from the above, the hotel has an ideal location, whit walking distant to most tourist attractions and Metro Line A. So for a tourist, considering the price and location, it is good stay.

A terrible hotel, really grubby. Our room had a beautiful view of a rusty wall. The water made an awful noise when switched on and the bed may as well have been made from nails. On returning from a day trip soaking wet we were informed that the heating would not be switched on til 6pm , bbbbrrrrrr! Breakfast was as rotten and a simple slice of toat wasn't even on the menu. Would def not recommend this one.

Hotel in ideal location just at Piazza Barberini, stones throw from the Trevi fountain & great restaurants. Hotel is a bit basic but clean and the staff are helpful. Breakfast good. Recommend to use as a good central base, not a luxury.

I have been staying at the Anglo Americano 4 or 5 times and have always enjoyed the stays. For a tourist, I can't think of any better hotel, considering pricing and location. I have also without any hesitation recommended it to many friends! The breakfast is also very good - actually excellent compared to all other hotels I've been staying in in Rome!

Is this really a four star hotel? The room needed refurbishing and the mattress felt to hard for me. No coffee machine in the room. The breakfast was good even though they didn't offer egg & bacon, but I didn't like the coffee.

Great Location for lots of the sights and the open top bus tour. The rooms could do with a bit of up dating but they were clean and tidy. the staff were very friendly and helpful and all spoke good English. All in all ideal for a base for a weekend break.

The hotel rates itself as a 4 star hotel, but i would rate it a 2 star hotel.
