Angelo Novelty - ReviewBasic, but excellent accomodation for the price. Nice location - approx 5- 10 minute walk from the Colloseum.Shared bathroom, but as there were only two rooms, we never had to wait in order to use it.Rooms were nice and clean, as was the bathroom.Given vouchers for breakfast in the cafe across the road - excellent croissants!!Would definitley stay here again.

Very good location, and owner simpatetic. The room was okey, this is a place only for sleep if you go on a jorney to Rome. 3 blocks from the metro station and 3 blocks from the Coliseum. Nice host. Good price-quality.

Great Value for moneyAngelo was very welcoming and friendly, room was nice, the only real problem was that our flight arrived quite late at night and even though I had selected on the LateRooms booking that we would be checking in after midnight, he charged us an extra 21€ - which wasn't a huge problem, as it was still far better value than anywhere else, but it would have been better to know at the time of booking, not after we'd handed over our credit card details! Not sure if that is the fault of LateRooms or Angelo? Also, the people staying in the next room smoked in the bathroom and in their room, so there was quite a strong smell in the air.

The b&b is right in the middle of town on the same road as the colosseum and the just a couple of minutes walk from the metro that is a great and cheap way to get around to all the main placesThe actual b&b is a bit confusing to find as you need to walk through the little doorway shown in the picture, then turn left under an archway, then right and then the door is on the left and just ring the bell next to next to "Novelty b&b"The man who runs this b&b is lovely and he gave us a map and pointed out all the main areas to visit when we arrived, and also let us know where the metro link was. If you are travelling to Ciampino airport on RyanAir and are planning to get the terravision coach to the termini (main train station) then it is definitely worth getting the metro to the b&b as it is only 1Euro for a ticket that last 75 minutes, or 4Euro for a 24 hour pass. Get the LineA towards Anagnina and get off at the Manzoni stop and you'll be on the road of the b&b and just walk towards the colosseum. We were ripped off and paid 30Euro for a taxi for a 5 minute trip. This is a cheap room is a fantastic location that saved paying to get into the centre of town everyday and we would definitly stay there again

Great location, lovely typical italian town-house in a quiet courtyard away from the main road. The owner was very welcoming, gave us lots of information about the city in general, about sites, public transport and good restaurants close by.We would definitely choose Angelo Novelty B&B again when coming to Rome (which we undoubtedly will!!!)

This place was not easy to find, with the street number being the only clue on the building face out front. No signage suggests you have arrived. You then head back down an access drive to a back parking area and apartments. On one of those apartment doors is a panel of buzzers which has the name Angelo Novelty B&B beside it.Once we found the place the host/owner was fantastic. He is friendly, helpful, and knows english. He made good recommendations on places to eat and when it came time to leave he went out of his way to call us a taxi. The room bed is the traditional european hard bed. A fan helps cool if the weather is hot. We found the facilities clean and very adequate, not luxurious but for the price a great deal. The location is just down the street from the Colosseum and the Forum/Palatine Hill area so easy walking distance. The only small con I have is the breakfast. It is at a place across the street that basically gives you a pastry and cup of Italian coffee (strong). Compared to other places we stayed in Italy, this was on the meager side. We visited a nearby shop selling fruit to supplement. As for family friendly, given that the bathroom was not in the room nor private (it's shared with the other guests) it may not be ideal for families with small kids, but could work. There was not enough room for an extra bed in the room either, that I recall. We stayed two night here and would recommend this B&B as a great bargain and location.
