The hotel has a good location in the historic district. The only downside was hearing street noise - not just people walking by, but a bar(?) dumping class periodically through the night.

No blinds or draperies on patio door, which faced east and overlooked bed. So at sunrise you were up whether you wanted to get up or not.

The hotel was quaint, clean, and attractive. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only downsides were the thin walls between rooms and delivery/truck noise outside our window bright and early each morning. Beep, beep, beep. Get an interior room. Short walk to all of the downtown attractions.

The hotel (we were in the four-story building across the street from registration) was quiet...probably because few people were staying there. We won't stay there again, nor recommend it to anyone. Our room was casually maintained and visited by ants and palmetto bugs. BIG palmetto bugs. But, worse, the room smelled like fish for the entire three days we were there. When I mentioned that to the day manager he replied, "Huh. I haven't heard THAT one before." He did not investigate the smell at all...and I wasn't asking for any compensation for the inconvenience. But it sounded like he'd already been hearing complaints from other guests. Our flight on check-out day was at 5:55am, so we tried to set the alarm on the clock radio. It didn't work. When I mentioned THAT to the front desk, the reply was, "Well, you can request an automated wake-up call." I did, and, because we couldn't afford to miss our plane, I requested a human call at 3:30am to make sure. I was assured the night manager would do so, and I was assured we'd have a statement under our door by the time we checked out at 4am. Not only was there no bill (apparently we don't need one if we've prepaid through Orbitz...which the night manager didn't know), but the night manager forgot to make that wake-up call. (Fortunately I had an alarm program on my laptop.) When I entered the lobby to check out, the night manager looked up and said, "Oh, I was a bad person. I forgot to call you." Speaking of computers, the free WiFi is fine...if you can work with dial-up speed. It was slow enough to be useless for anything but short emails. We were only two blocks from Meeting Street or the marketplace, which was great, so I guess we were paying the high price for location and not for service.

It's in the Historic District. Walking Distance to down town. Had to pay to parkat the Inn. The Inn was beautiful. I enjoying staying in the Historic District. The only complaint is having to pay for parkingat the Inn.

We took a chance and stayed at the Andrew Pinkney recently and would be more than happy to visit again. Our room was situated in the main building, was a nice size and the location was fabulous. The inn is located a block away from the market which is central to a large amount of restaurants and things to see/do. The staff was very friendly, helpful but not intrusive...coffee and cookies in the lobby were a nice touch. The towels in each room are plush and soft unlike many hotels in which you feel the mass of industrial laundry detergent. Breakfast on the terrace was simple yet enough to start the day. The Andrew Pinkney was a highlight to our vacation in Charleston.

Great location, good size room. Curtain next to toilet didn't smell too fresh. Only a short walk to all the sights in historic Charleston, friendly staff at check-in. Room had a sofa and fridge with a nice flat screen TV. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again. Parking was extra, but that is normal in that area.

No microwave or fridge, badly insulated rooms, can hear EVERYTHING! Couldn't sleep! Seedy part of town, didnt feel safe to go out at night, overpriced, breakfast below par, view was nice off balcony, but you had to dodge the pidgeon's droppings. Won't stay here again.

Fantastic location. Walk to famous attractions, shops, and restaurants. Close to carriage tour station. Rooftop terrace where breakfast is served has view of the cruise ship harbor. Beds were exceptionally comfortable. We had to leave at 5:15 am to catch our plane, and even then, the lobby had fresh hot coffee in disposable travel cups available for us. Efficient and effective air conditioning with individual room controls. We appreciated the small business center with on-line service which we used to print boarding passes for our return flight.

Perfect location in downtown Charleston, friendly staff, beautfiul facility. Internet did not work, some minor repairs took a long time to be done. Our stay at the Andrew Pinckney Inn was a very enjoyable one. We found the staff friendly and helpful and the hotel beautiful and well-located. There are not many hotels in Charleston better placed to enjoying the city's vibrant night life. The internet access at the hotel was terrible (at one point it took more than 15 minutes to load a search engine site), and even after I mentioned this to staff they proposed a resolution but never carried through with it. Overall, I would definitely recommend a stay at the Inn, but with caution that business travelers and those who need constant internet access may be left in the dark.

I did not see any mention of the 12 per night parking fee until time to pay it.Cookies and coffee in lobby and restaurant menu guide.

Charming. The first night in this hotel was awful. Three people were crowded in a very small room with one bed. Second night moved to a larger room with two beds so it was awesome.

"This hotel is in a perfect location, close to the market and within walking distance to the Battery, never needed a car. Were fortunate to be upgraded to a townhouse. Very quiet and nicely decorated. Only problem was a noisy air conditioner. Complementary breakfast was very limited, but coffee was great and roof top view an added bonus. Would enjoy another stay here."

Perfect place to stay in Charleston. The beds were comfortable, it was quiet at night, and the hotel was beautiful. The indoor fountain on the second floor was nice (although a bit loud until we fixed it). Breakfast on the balcony was a plus. Within walking distance of many Charleston attractions: Market Street, shopping, & good restaurants. Take a carriage ride if you can during your visit--you'll learn some interesting facts about Charleston. LOVED this place, will stay here again soon!! Parking could be better, and included in the price. It costs 12 daily as of 10/2006, be prepared.

Our visit included 2 adults. The room was small but very, very romantic. However, there were larger rooms available for a larger group of people. We had just enough room for what we needed. The room was beautiful with antique like furniture, very clean, including the bath room. It included all the amentities that we needed. The location was awesome, within walking condition from the Market Place, stores for shopping, fast food, fine restaurants and the Medical University. The hotel staff was very friendly and so were the people at the restaurant and on the street. We experienced the best southern hospitality ever! The cost for the room was very inexpensive for a winter visit around the holidays. Within 1 week from our first visit, we found out that we need to return to Charleston for medical reasons. We have already booked the next visit at the same place. I would strongly recommend this place to others.

Good location within downtown Charleston. Lack of convenient parking. The hotel was structurally and aesthetically pleasing. I thought that the linens and showers could have been a bit more clean.

"We stayed at the Andrew Pinckney Inn during a long weekend in Charleston, and it was fabulous. The rooms were arranged well, and the bathroom was clean. We traveled with a 4 year old, so we had to go back to the hotel by 9pm so she could go to bed, and it would have been nice to have a slightly larger TV for my husband and me. But, the Inn was beautiful, clean, and just wonderful. We will be going back as soon as we can, and are recommending this Inn to all of our friends!"
