Excellent location for visiting the French Quarter. However, it can be noisy all night long due to its location. Our room was great. High ceilings, old style furnishings, a neat place. I wish they could have been a little more flexible with the checkout time.

Close to attractions in the French Quarter. Lied about having parking. It's OK for French Quarter hotel on a budget. There is no insulation - you hear everything. Drapes are lightweight so you have light coming in through the curtains and the spaces around the door. They advertise parking, but that's if the sister hotel 5 blocks away has any spaces left; if not, you are on your own. It's historic and the staff is pleasant.

The Andrew Jackson is in a great location. The hotel has a very nice courtyard, and the staff was very nice. Only drawback is that the room was a little small, but that is probably expected from an older hotel.

If you are looking for a great little hotel in the heart of the quarter, look no further than the Andrew Jackson! It's in a great central location, quiet and charming, yet close enough to all the fun. No pool, but a three-block walk will take you to their sister hotel the St. Pierre where they were more than happy to have us come swim and sit (and drink!) by the pool. Staff is super friendly - at both hotels - no matter what time of night or early morning we came strolling in there was always a friendly face to greet us. My husband and I try to get down there every year, this year we took my sister and a friend - we all arrived in NOLA at about 10:30 am and the hotel had our rooms ready for us that soon before normal check in time. This place is so worth a try, we will definetly be back!

We arrived in the French Quarter and was quite happy at the looks of our hotel. It was not one of those big generac ones that could be in any city. This was old New Orleans. The lobby isn't much but we were given a 2nd floor room opening up to the front upper verandah. How lovely it was to sit up there, sipping wine, and watching the world go by below. When we wanted to go anywhere it was an easy walk to all. The disadvantage to an old hotel was that we had no way to change any of the settings on the AC but the hotel was most accomodating. Across the street was a wonderful restaurant, Cafe Amelie, where we could eat in a beautiful open courtyard full of flowers and fountains. We would definitely return.

The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The location was wonderful. The hotel staff was not very knowledgeable about restaurants in the area.

it was cold in the room the first night but we got use to it after that. then we got comfortable. the room was a little too smaller than what most rooms are but the front desk people were so nice it kinda made up for it.

I made my reservation through the travel website for April 11th - 14th 2007 (have since canceled and changed hotel.) At that time of the reservation there was no where to request a room with 2 dbl beds. The next morning I called the hotel myself to see if they could help me with this. The man at the front desk was so rude and told me that there would be an extra charge of 75.00 per night. I didn't want a bigger room or a special view just 2 beds instead of 1. He said that's just the way it was because I booked on line just to get a cheaper room, basicly calling me cheap. I tried to explain I needed a package deal with airfare and hotel and that's the reason I did it that way. Needles to say I called the travel agency and they were GREAT! They worked with me to change hotels and waved the fee. My husband & I were married in New Orleans 14yrs. ago & go back every year. Believe me we will never stay here.

Very close to Bourbon but away from the action. Staff very helpful and kind. No fridge, but used sink as a cooler. Spent most time out exploring, but bring cooler if you plan on stocking up on food/beverage. GREAT place to stay for college students in town who are somewhat responsible. Was told one (Saturday) night to keep it down outside because of other guests trying to sleep but overall the staff was very courteous and respectful. Breakfast from 6?-10 or 11 served coffee/OJ and donuts until gone. Was able to get free parking offered, not too far of a walk between there and the hotel (5 blocks?) but great bonus to have in New Orleans. Supposedly one of the most haunted hotels in French Quarter but was not aware of any paranormal activity during my stay. Room with 2 beds was big enough for 3 male and 2 female college-age adults. Had a blast in New Orleans and was really impressed by the way we were treated by hotel staff.

I'm not sure how the Andrew Jackson gets 3 star hotel status. The room (room 102) looked as though it had not been renovated in decades. The bathtub needed caulking badly, the bed linens looked ancient, as did all of the furniture (including the TV) and the carpet. The lamp by our bed was broken, and there was no way to control the air conditioning temperature. The location is good, but that's it. I would not recommend this place and I will definitely NOT stay there again.

Our stay was wonderful. The hotel is very nice, clean, high ceilings. The air conditioner worked well which was great cause it was over 100 degrees plus there is a ceiling fan. The court yard is very nice to sit in during the evening. There is no pool but sitting around the fountain int he courtyard is nice. Antiques in the rooms, I dont think that this hotel would be very good for children under 10-12 years. Very easy to get to Bourbon st and the cathedral. We parked our car for the whole stay and walked everywhere we needed and wanted to go. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The bathroom is small but has great water pressure and shower heads. We got in town early and the staff checked us in without a problem. The parking area is small so if you want the free parking you cannot have a full size truck or van/large vehicle. The staff directed us to parking by the river that has security and it was */day which isnt bad for the area. We will stay here on our next trip!

Historic (old) structure with a romantic setting. Room was small and no internet connection. Great location on royal street behind Jackson Square and one block of Bourbon St. Older structure with historic value, friendly staff and beautiful entry/reception area. Romantic feels to it, but lacks the modern amenities. Great for a weekend, but not a business traveler.

I am a student and went to New Orleans for Spring Break. I was a bit nervous because of all the bad press N.O. had gotten. I felt very safe here and was never afraid in the hotel, my room, or walking to and from the hotel. You can easily walk to Bourbon Street and all around the Quarter. The parking sucks, but if you are planning on spending a great deal of time in the Quarter then it won't matter, just park and leave it at Jackson Square. I loved this hotel for its traditional french architecture, accessibilty to Bourbon St, and the courtyard was perfect New Orleans style.

Location & Friendly Desk Clerk. Beautiful courtyard. Parking was three blocks away. Ice machine broken. Bathtub stopper broken. No water pressure. No extra amenities. Overall, the location was wonderful. Very quiet when returned to hotel for rest. The front desk was very friendly. We put a "Do not disturb" sign on our door for the morning and the maid woke us up by calling us on the phone to verify we did not want to be disturbed and not to clean the room yet... Parking was not so convenient. And, if we wanted a pool, we'd have to walk three blocks to the sister hotel to use theirs. I booked this hotel based on it being a three star, but it was barely a two star. I think I would have had more amenities at the two star hotels nearby.

We LOVED staying at the Andrew Jackson. Stayed there on a spring break trip with my daughter. They greeted us by FIRST NAMES when we walked in the lobby - that was nice! The staff was so personable. Rooms are huge; eclectic mix of furniture, bed was wonderful. It's an old building, but tons of charm! We will definitely stay there again.

"Very similar to European hotels -- small, but charming. An extremely comfortable bed, clean room, excellent service and convenient, quiet location. The only negatives are insufficient lot parking and a somewhat cramped room. No lingering hurricane damage, for those who are concerned. "

"Quaint(small). Historical(old). It's that but a great place to stay. Friendly staff on the front desk make you feel welcome. The locaton is good Each room has mismatched furniture and no two are alike but that's OK. It's my ""home"" when in New Orleans. "

I recently returned from my first visit to New Orleans in serveral years. I found the Andrew Jackson Hotel a breath of fresh air with a charm not found in many hotels. The decor unique and the staff made you feel at home.

"I have stayed at better hotels, but my significant other wanted to stay at a hotel that is deemed ""haunted."" It was ok, quaint little courtyard, full size bed, clean room, nice towels, good strong shower spray, the only bad thing was the ice maker was broken."
