This hotel is cozy and comfortable. There is free shuttle and breakfast. The staff is very helpful. I would definitely come here to stay again.

I would have to rate this the worse hotel/Inn I have ever stayed at. It wasn't worth anywhere near the price that I paid and the room has to have one of the worse rugs I've ever seen- one area was so bad that my feet were sticking to the floor (near the bed) and I didn't dare to take my shoes off until I got into bed. Transportation was poor at best, as the manager's husband also drives for the local church and could not drive me back. I took a cab back to the airport ($20) and chalked this up as one of the worse places I've ever stayed at.

If you're looking for an affordable stay in Anchorage, consider this place. It's a former chain hotel now operated by a very friendly family. It's clean and well tended to, but no frills. If you're not a fussy traveler, this place will meet your needs. They let me choose my room! The neighborhood is not great, but I never felt unsafe walking at night (male). You can get downtown by city bus or a 20-minute stroll. A little noisy if you open your window; otherwise fine. Very basic continental breakfast, and the owners will help you with anything if you ask. My room had no walls around bathroom, which was fine for me as a single traveler. Looks like most rooms were more traditional; might be good to contact them with your needs. Free wifi signal only works in some rooms.

Walking distance to downtown. Receptionist spent about 10 minutes to train another person while we were waiting. She did not care about us that much. No elevator. We had to climb three floors with our luggages. Poor floor plan.

When we arrived at 9:30 p.m. the reservation which was made a month in advance and followed up on even the day before arrival was messed up and we were told that we couldn't get the kitchenette suite which we had reserved. We had to call our booking agent at AARP and get that straightened out. We were sent to the third floor. No elevator, had to carry our luggage up ourselves because there is no help. The only person available was the clerk at the front desk. The room was a mess, the stove was dirty, the oven seemed as though it has never been cleaned, and there were footprints on the refrigerator door. We had to request toilet paper, the towels were dirty, and there were cigarette burnt holes in the sheets.

Downtown location amongst the pawn shops and shelters, a least there was constant police coverage....hotel was old and worn out, no amenities, exposed sprinkler pipes ran through the rooms, more like a hostel then a hotel

No AC. Bed was not level due to missing casters. Definitely would not return.

Great location in downtown Anchorage, right of the highway to the Soth & North. Not too clean, but ok & comfortable.

I didn't like anything about this hotel. This is a poorly maintained, run-down hotel and it gives Roadway a bad name. There were cigarette burns everywhere (the furniture, the sink, the carpet, etc.) and the shower curtain smelled heavily of cigarette smoke when wet. The refrigerator was in very poor repair, missing shelves and generally filthy inside. The top was dusty and there was baking soda spilled all over the inside. There were only two hangers in the closet and there was no hair dryer provided. The pillows were flat and the beds were made with inadequately sized flat sheets so you woke up in the morning wadded up in the bedclothes. There were no drinking glasses and the staff was so poorly trained they couldn't figure out how to turn off the message light on the phone. I consider myself lucky that my car wasn't vandalized as we came out one morning and found a broken whiskey bottle next to the car. The towels while clean and in good repair were too small to dry the average person adequately.

We were looking to spend as little as possible, so could not have huge expectations. Within this low budget, this was really good. Spotlessly clean, a good sized fridge for our picnic foods and really welcoming staff. The bathroom was great - only bad point - beds poor and pillows worse!

Very little, security and desk personnel. Almost everything. Place was dirty, in poor repair and very sleazy. Restaurant was very good.

When we arrived at the hotel everything looked runned down. The room was very old with no air conditoning or heat. Only a window that opens to a noisy street. There were stains on the carpets and floors. The TV in our room broke and the management had to replace the box. We asked for a wake up call at 8:00am and received one and 9:00am. Upon leaving the next morning we asked for a receipt and was given someone else's information. I was glad that we were only staying 1 night at this hotel. We spent $* dollars on this room and it was not worth $* bucks. Do you yourself a favor and spend a little more at another hotel.
