This hotel if much better in my opinion then any of the highrises in Aruba. I love the layout of the rooms. The studios are kind of small which is why I get a one bedroom suite when I go. Still though, the studio has a great bathroom/shower and fridge/stove. The one bedrooms have a separate living area with a pull out bed in the couch and a full kitchen. The beach is the best in Aruba and it's not crowded as the other places. Great place to take ya boyfriend/girlfriend. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I only had one complaint this time and that was the wireless connection kept going down. They do however, have three computers always working right outside the office for guests to use. GREAT PLACE! Spend less money and get more service and a better part of beach

Horrible!! Can I please preface this by saying that I am not one of those people who is difficult to please?! But I booked a 1 bedroom suite with Amsterdam Manor back in December. I arrived last Wednesday 3/26 to have them tell me that they were overbooked, I mean can they not count how many rooms they have in comparison to how many guests they book? The woman at the desk told me that a wedding party that was there decided that they wanted to stay longer so myself and 3 other guests lost their rooms. They told me that they booked me a room at La Cabana next door. I said okay, is it still a 1 bedroom suite with an ocean view and king size bed like I booked here. I was told no that it was in the back of the building and not a suite. This did not make me happy at all because I had booked, paid for, and gotten confirmation from XXX in the reservations department that my reservation was confirmed. After expressing my displeasure with them for about 45 minutes and requesting to speak to a manager (none were available) they said they could put me at the Manchebo. When I got to the Manchebo I was put into a ?garden view? room with 2 double beds. I then told XXX the situation and they were great! And put me into a ocean view room with a king size bed. Please read my review of the Manchebo, they were awesome.

Ever wanted to escape to a deserted island that has all of the amenities imaginable? This is the place to go. Located between downtown and the high-rise district, this hotel and beach (20 ft from our room) remain a quiet sanctuary. Plenty of room to spread out and relax. The staff really goes the extra mile to make your stay special by obtaining reservations for the best resturants and water activities. This one bedroom with kitchen room was perfect (and nearly twice the size of our Boston apartment)other than the bed being too firm for our taste. A little am yoga was required to get my back into working order again (yoga 20 ft from the beach- tough life, huh?) I highly reccommend this hotel for couples of all ages and stages. Spring Breakers may prefer a more lively area closer to downtown or the high-rises.

We'd generally recommend it. The Passions Restaurant, right on the beautiful Eagle Beach, is a great experience. The service is very friendly. Only negatives: (1) the studio rooms are smaller than they appear on their website; and (2) most of all, the rancid nearby smell, which appears to derive from the sewage system.

I just stayed for 2 weeks on Aruba at the Amsterdam Manor and it looks amazing. They have renovated the entire property and the new rooms look beautiful. I heard before about the smell issue, but as I was told that problem has been solved back in May and there have not been any complaints since. I would advice this hotel to everyone who is looking for some peace and quiet, great beach dining and fantastic service!

My husband and I stayed at Amsterdam Manor for our honeymoon in early September. We chose Aruba because we wanted a caribbean trip, but definitely wanted to stay out of hurricanes. We thought the room was wonderful. We booked the superior studio, which comes with a big bathroom, fully-stocked kitchen (the only thing it didn't have was an oven), a king bed, ocean view, and a little patio with an outdoor table and chairs. We loved waking up each morning and seeing the water right outside our room. We had a tough time finding good restaurants. We bought the Frommer's guide to Aruba, and their recommendations didnt' seem to match our experience. We didn't like Le Dome, rated 2 stars by frommers. We thought it was too expensive and not that great. We also didn't like Salt and Pepper. The tapas were horrendous - everything tasted overly processed, like it just came out of the freezer. Yuk. Anyone going to Aruba should go to Jamaica Me Crazy and Cubas Cooking, both are in the downtown area. They had great food and great people. Try the Mojitos at Cubas Cooking - also CC has live music each night, but we only went for lunch, so I can't tell you if the live music is good. I would highly recommend having dinner on the beach at Amsterdam Manor. You don't have to be a guest to have dinner. I believe they only serve dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. We ate there both nights and had a great time. The food won't knock your socks off, but it's nice to eat on the shore with tiki torches and a bottle of vino.
