The villa was built in 1904 on the instructions of a wealthy German merchant Hermann Ammende for his daughter?s wedding reception. The architectural features are stunning with striking wooden staircases, hand-painted ceilings and walls, majestic chandeliers, hunting trophies and noble stoves decorated with glazed tiles made in the Bohm factory in Riga. The hotel has three superb sitting rooms for enjoying a cup of Brazilian coffee or for just relaxing. There is a Red Salon with wooden parquet floors, red walls with mille-fleurs paintings and antique furnishings. The Green Salon has magnificent ceiling paintings and unique wooden antique furniture. In the Billiard Salon there is also a pool table and a small bar area.

The Blue Hall houses the dining room with its dark green tile stove, striking chandeliers and hand-painted Art Nouveau ceilings. Ammende Villa?s restaurant offers the art of refined cuisine. Menus feature local fresh food products and a wide selection of seafood. Dinner or lunch can also be taken on the outdoor terrace overlooking the stunning parkland garden and fountain. A fabulous breakfast with an excellent selection is served in the Blue Hall every morning.
