It's in Jasper. The room smelt and it was noisy. For the price, this was a very mediocre hotel, more like a cheap mid-west motel in its quality and feel.

We arrived in Jasper from Banff late one evening. We were accomodated in an average room, clean and comfortable. I was very sick with a bad flu. We were to catch the train at 3pm but later found that we it wasn't going to leave until 1am the next day. That said the Amethyst management gave us a room until 11pm that night, free of charge!! It was very kind of them but given I was so sick, very much appreciated. I give them 10 out of 10 for service and will not forget that act of kindness. Very recommended and will stay agin.

My family stayed in this hotel twice in the past year, including New Years Eve. We were impressed on the first visit which prompted us to stay there again. Although not a five star resort it is a comfortable hotel for the price range. The service at the restaurant was noteworthy. In addition, the non-smoking policy was one reason we enjoyed our stay.
