By big I mean quality and comfort. Who would think you could find both in the small town of Kewanee, Illinois. The AmericInn was a beacon on a cold snowy night. From the moment we checked in the staff worked dilligently to make sure we were confortable. It's not often you receive home baked cookies and a warm and cozy fireplace in the lobby. Large room with extras (microwave and refrigerator) at no additional cost was the topping on the cake. After spending time in the pool and hot tub, we retired to a quiete and peacful nights sleep. Look foward to returning again next year.

My stay here was filled with disappointments. My family hoped for a relaxing and fun stay, but soon after we checked in, the power was lost, minimal power was obtained via generator. We could not use the pool and feared the heat was next to go out. Hotel staff would not refund our money, instead they handed us a small, weak flashlight. Worrying about heat, I was forced to stay up through the night. When we were ready to shower and leave this horrid hotel, staff called to inform us that we could not shower or even flush the toilet due to water issues. As I checked out, I inquired about at least some compensation for all the problems. I was offered passes to the hotel pool, I live 2 sates away from the hotel, pool passes were just a smack in the face to us. I would encourage any travelors to bypass this stinker of a hotel.
