This is the worst hotel (out of 4) I have stayed at in Williamsburg. I only stayed 1 night and got out as early as possible the next morning to escape the heat of the room. I had 3 teenage girls with me and they really enjoyed the fact that this hotel had a game room and swimming pool but the game room was very hot and the pool was crowded. I wasted an hour upon arrival trying to get into our room, going back and forth to the office to ask for another room and waiting for a maintenance man who never showed up, all on a very hot and humid afternoon. The room key/card wouldn't work even after being reswiped by the front desk twice. The maintenance man was suppose to "rekey" the room but never showed up. By the time we were finally given a new room, we were soaked with sweat and mad as heck. The staff was rude and unwilling to go out of their way to help me. The second room was a smoking room and the front desk clerk said she would send an ozonator to the room to get the smoke smell out. She asked that we take our bags in and then stay out of the room for a few hours while this ran. We returned to the room 5 hours later and could tell the equipment was never brought in. The second room was obviously smelly but it was also dark with all the lights on. This door had to be kicked or shoved as it would stick right above the handle. It was extremely loud to open or shove closed. The bathroom was very cramped, even for a hotel room. One of the glass windows/partitions between the game room and pool was shattered and held together with duct tape. The hotel didn't supply pool towels and we were only given 3 bath towels in the room. The last straw was the air conditioner that never produced any cool air. It simply recirculated the warm air from the room. It was cooler outside. Since we returned late, as suggested by staff, it was too late to get this fixed or go find another hotel with a vacancy. I would never recommend this hotel as you can pay about $10 more per night and stay at much better hotels within the same few blocks. Also worth mentioning, the first room was in one of the other buildings, namely building C, which is located directly behind McDonalds but seperated by a brick wall and trash dumpsters. The smell was horrendous standing there waiting for our room to be opened. That building was also an easy target for an ambush as it was very dark, it was secluded with trees on the one end where our room was to be and had enclosed stairwells that made me shudder at the thought of bringing the girls back after dark. We had to pass an open and completely dark maintenance room to get to the room originally assigned to us. The door was half open and there was trash all over the floor that we could see. That open room also made me very nervous. I have never before felt unsafe when visiting Williamsburg until this trip. I was not offered any discounts or other compensation for any of their shortcomings and was treated as though I was bothering them each time I spoke to any staff member for any reason, even to ask where to find the coffee in the morning. I got the feeling that they get a lot of complaints and don't want to speak to their "Guests" for this reason. I wish I had read an honest review of this hotel before I booked this stay and hope mine will prevent anyone else from having to endure this hotel.

Close to the historical area. Not clean, there's no indoor pool, smelly. This hotel couldn't be a 2 star hotel. It should be a 1 star economy hotel. One of the staffs was kind, but that was all. We asked non smoking room, but I could smell the smoking. Bathroom was small.

We stayed overnight on 4/17/09. This is a very clean motel that has lots of very nice restaurants around. We ordered pizza and it was delivered very quickly and was delicious. The motel staff were very courteous and the breakfast bar is outstanding -- the waffles are great! All in all, the rooms are neat and clean, and our stay was wonderful. We will return and recommend this motel to others -- especially for the price we paid.

We booked this hotel at the last minute and had never stayed in a hotel that allowed dogs. The room was neat and clean and the continental breakfast was a nice surprise. They just need to tell guests that it ends at 9:30 am. Linda at the front desk was so helpful and friendly!

This hotel is great, especially for the price. Everyhting was clean and the employees were friendly. The only thing I didn't care for was the tip envelope the maid had left in the room, I found that a little tacky. But, we will definitely stay here again because the room was clean, the beds were comfy and they allow dogs!

Having stayed in many La Quinta motels with happy results, I was disappointed in this motel. We stayed here twice in the past month. The first time, we stayed two nights. On the second afternoon, we arrived back at our room to find that the beds were unmade, the coffeepot still had the morning's (cold) coffee in it, and no replacement soap, shampoo, cups, or coffee was provided. There were clean towels and the trash can had been emptied, however, so we knew that the housekeeper had been there. We thought perhaps this was a bad day, and since we liked the comfortable beds and the location so well, we stayed again when we returned to Williamsburg a couple of weeks later. Unfortunately, it appears that the motel's policy is NOT to make up your bed! Again, on our return to our return the second day, our beds were unmade, there was cold coffee in the pot from the morning's coffee-making, and no replacement soap, shampoo, coffee, or cups had been provided. There was also a big hair ball in the sink.We wrote a note to the housekeeper regarding our displeasure, and on the third afternoon we found our beds made, replacement coffee, soap, etc.AND - I overheard the desk clerk talking to a pool repairman about the problem with the chlorine level in their pool (too much chlorine.) When I asked her about the problem, she hesitated discussing it, then admitted that there was a problem. She could not say when the pool would be fixed. There were people swimming in the pool at that time, and they had not been told about the problem.

It had a decent location. The room smelled like a retirement home. This hotel was OK for the price. The beds were fairly comfortable, they accommodate pets, and the staff was pleasant. The rooms had an odd odor and the carpet had a big burn hole in it where someone dropped the iron. It was cheap and something that one can live with.

My family and I stayed here from Monday April 6-9th. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. Breakfast was great which saved us about $20.00 a day on food. There is so much to do around the area from shopping, restaurants and Putt Putt . There is also a Big Kmart just steps away. I would stay here again.

We stayed here because they allow pets. It had a good location but, bad service (lines were allways busy ) pillows were rock hard and the bath room was very small.

The staff was excellent! Good breakfast. The room was very dated. Especially the furniture, fixtures, and bathroom. It would be a very nice 1 star hotel! Great staff! Good breakfast.

Between the time that I made the reservation and the time that I stayed -- the La Quinta changed to America's Best Value. Everything about the motel still said La Quinta, even the employee name tags and the information packages in the room (Look on the Bright Side). Staff was pleasant, room was clean & comfortable, location is convenient to Colonial Williamsburg, without the high prices. I just wish I could have gotten my LQ rewards points

Nice stay, lg room (tho beds were hard) very clean, nice breakfast, (tho (clerk) would not rinse out coffee milk packages that were sticky until asked 2 x) It was 81 degrees and pool was not open yet tho, consider opening it for April vacation.

Beautiful clean room. From the outside it looks like a dump but it was a beautiful updated room. I highly recommend it!

No breafast of any kind. This is not a bad hotel just an older hotel reworked. One light bulb needed to be replaced, but that department didn't respond in the evening, shower rod was falling down.

Coffee. Charged for use of in room safe I didn't want. I have stayed twice. I called ahead and told desk clerk last time my room was dirty. They are consistant, my room was no cleaner than the first time. To make this a good, inexpensive stay all that is needed is some pride in ownership.

The price was comfortable and affordable. Maybe the spread wasn't shampooed, I was itching. The hotel inside and outside was clean. I like the price and the privacy. As I prepared for bed, and just on the bed, I beagn to itch until I pulled the cover spread. Breakfast was good. You probably should look into getting a microwave that works without the assistance of the dine in attendant. I love use LaQuinta again and thru priceline.
