If you are looking for glitz and glam this is not your hotel. However, if decent amenities and comfort are your goal, look no further. A friend and I stayed here while visiting SF for a concert. Though we spent little time actually in our room, it was the perfect place to store our valuables and make ourselves presentable for the next days affairs.

Excellent location to ballpark, cool bar downstairs and very pleasantly surprised with the room!

Clean, convenient, economical. Not necessarily the best location if you are unwilling to walk to get public transit. Terrible food choices if you get hungry at 2 am. But otherwise a great value hotel with nice staff. We'd stay there again.

We stayed with 2 kids in one room. The room was pleasant and clean (of course, a bit crowded for 4 people). The staff was friendly. No complaints there. The provided breakfast is minimal - juice, coffee, and muffins. Parking was available for a reasonable fee at another hotel a block away. As with many places in SF, there is no air conditioning, which was not a problem, except that this means that you may need to leave your window open, which exposes you to the noise of people standing and talking late at night outside of nearby taverns.

Nice hotel, great location. Only pet peeves was that the parking was not very close to the hotel and the room I had did not have air conditioning, which forced me to leave the window open that faces a street.

Clean, recently refurbished. Parking was offsite. Clean and recently refurbished, and relatively quiet for SF. Good restaurant nearby, Rocco's.

Right in the Heart of Folsom Street, this hotel is an excellent stay for anyone traveling to San Francisco for Folsom Street Fair or Dore Alley. There are numerous gay bars within walking distance as well. The actual hotel was decent enough. There's no air conditioning, which isn't too much of a problem unless you get one of those freakish HOT days in SF. The only issue I had was the shower curtain was kind of covered in that weird orange gunk that you get from hard water. I'd definitely stay again!

Room was small but adequate. Front desk not manned 24X7 but desk people polite and helpful. Bathroom very small but clean and good shower. Bed was lumpy and blankets skimpy. Location was OK in Gentryfying SOMA area. A couple of good restaurants are nearby. Worst part was the Irish bar that shares bulding wih hotel. Very noisy. Juke box bass shook room every night until past 2:00AM. Perhaps third floor is quieter. Mine was directly above the bar.

Convenience to down town. Lobby nice. Room smelled of cigarettes; hotel staff was very unfriendly and not helpful as to where we could park; mold in bathroom. The pitch that it was recently remodeled attracted us. Although new carpet and paint, still poor patch jobs under coat of paint; mold around shower/bath; alarm clock didn't work; gentleman who checked us in was not the least helpful as to where we could park our car in the area or whether a roll away bed was available - but it was last minute request.

What can I say, but if you have children with you find another hotel. The area appeared very unsafe. Tons of transients roaming the nearby streets. Parking is 3 blocks away. After attempting to change hotels with the online travel agency, that was unsuccessful. The neighbor was banging on the walls because he stated the TV was too loud? Maybe the walls were too thin! The staff which consisted of one person was pleasant. This would be my first and last stay at America's Best Value Inn. If you are single and want to club, this is perfect. The club seen is right there on the main street. No driving necessary.

Friendly staff. Parking lot is a few blocks away. Remodeled: nice outside, but strong paint smell. My room wasn't clean. The parking facility was a few blocks away, and so at night I was a little scared to walk back. The staff was friendly.

The lady at the front desk was very nice. At the time of our stay, construction was going on on the street. Very noisy early in the am. Parking was not available so we had to walk around the block and pay for parking each nite. It was a liitle scary at nite. It was OK. I wouldn't stay again. Breakfast was just muffins and cofee. No juices for the kids.

Convenient location. This hotel was great for a quick weekend trip. It was within walking distance to AT&T park. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay here again. It was actually better than I expected.

Off the beaten path in a young hip and trendy area. Mold on shower curtain no central air. Very frendly staff.
