When I checkekd in it was late. Very poorly lighted people just sitting out in a car in the front of the hotel at the front door. Room was infested with bugs and the ceiling was covered in mildew. It looked like it was about to fall in. I continued to get up to check that our car was still int he lot. I brought my granddaughter with me and I was afraid for her feet to touch the ground. Never Again!!!!!!!!

AC worked. Bathtub had a hole.

Front desk night shift was nice and informative. The room needs maintenance. The security chain on the door was broken. The bed was lumpy and the bedspread was old and nappy. They didn't have enough towels. The tub finish was peeling and worn out. My morning shower was non-existent. When I turned the cold water on, the pipes rattled loudly. I had to turn it on full blast to get the rattling to stop. The shower was a trickle, but leaked all around the seal with pretty good pressure, everywhere but on me. So I stood in the tub, used a cup to get water to rinse the soap off. The breakfast was OK. it was typical continental: cereal, donuts, milk, OJ, and coffee. Had to ask to replenish coffee, milk and OJ. The signs pointing the way to the ice machines were inaccurate. The ice machines were hard to find, in dark niches with no lighting. scary.

Check - in went pretty good. There was only one guy doing everything so the phones werent being answered but we werent expecting any calls. He was very calm and still friendly and helpful even with all he had going on (I was impressed since I have done his job before and know first hand that it is not a easy one). We got everything we had requested - downstairs/no-smoking etc. The only bad thing was we booked especially with internet connect since we planned to spend quite a bit of time on the internet taking care of business and the first two days as soon as you would log on it would immediately throw you back office. The manager finally put in a appearance on the third day and went a bought hardware to get the internet working again. The pool was green and/or closed the whole time we stayed. The room did have a microwave and fridge that work very well. The housekeeping staff and front staff were very good at giving you towels and stuff like that and were friendly. The hot water would surge VERY hot and then cold - not much fun - and the lighting was such that you had to have the lights in the bathroom and vanity on at the same time or off at the same time. The bed was the worst part of the stay - could skip the pool and manage the water by stepping back and readjusting throughout bath but the bed was like sleeping on stone HARD is putting it mildly and the bedding was very old and in bad shape. Overall it could use some much needed travel website. But the a/c unit did a very good job of keeping room cool.

This bed is worse than sleeping on the floor!

Courtesy and helpfulness of staff. The smell of the rooms, all smelled of stale smoke.

The room was dirty. Tiles in the bath tub were coming off and part of the ceiling was falling in. The light in the bathroom and one of the lamps was burned out. There were people running around above our room and outside our door.

I have stayed in better places. We did not have a remote to the TV and the pool was closed for cleaning the whole time we were there. They kept saying that it was for maintenance. but try to explain that to two children that wanted to swim. The lack of remote was just ridiculous. Thank goodness that we have children to change the channels for us. They like doing that at that age.

No shower head in the shower. No rack to hang clothes on. Dirty.

The room was terrible. The bed broke the moment that I sat in. The room looked as it hadn't been cleaned. The room had not been vacuum in days. I could see the dust on everything. The TV was a broken down mess with no remote in the room.

We paid a fortune for this horrible experience. The room smelled like smoke, the bathroom light did not work, so you could not have any privacy because you could not close the door... or you would be in the dark. We asked for a room away from the road and she said we were not close to the road. We were actually in the closest room to the road. The pull-out bed had to be wrestled out. It was aweful. The room was so dirty that we did not walk around without shoes or flip-flops. Our room did not even have air conditioning. Oh yeah... don't forget about the train that came by in the middle of the night. We did not have enough towels or pillows. We asked for the light to be fixed, but they did not fix it. The light in the stairwell was out as well. I fell on the way down the stairs at night. The staff was rude and unhelpful. By the way, "continental breakfast" means a bowl of cereal. If this is the last hotel in town... sleep in your car.

The hotel was digusting. First room was missing chain lock - we knew the police were there earlier that night (found out at check-in) and we insisted on being moved to a different room. A/C blew under the curtain so the window wasn't covered and the air didn't cool the room. Second room had holes in bathroom wall and ceiling, black mildew in tub area, and roaches in the toilet area in the middle of the night! We spent the one night and did not use the continental breakfast offered - due to room condition, we decided to pass. My husband saw the breakfast area and said we made a wise choice in going out for breakfast! We did not feel at all safe in this hotel. We had our 9 year old daughter there with us to pick up her brother from camp in the town. We checked in late (around 10:30 p.m.) otherwise, we would never have stayed here but felt trapped at that point. We did not get much rest - after seeing the roaches in the middle of the night, a mom cannot rest easy. As we left early the next morning, we observed a trail of blood drops on the sidewalk. I informed Travel online they should not book this hotel for anyone else and put them through our experience. Hindsight - we would never have stayed in this hotel!

The price was high for a good hotel but this place was a pigs sty. The price was inflated for the Texas Tech vs Texas A&M football game but the quality was poor. Our room was never cleaned and we never got clean towels and the bath room and vanity were worn out. This was our first and last stay at an Americas Best Value Motel.

Had a refrigerator and microwave. My whole experience was a nightmare. I was placed in a room that should have been considered condemned. Air did not work at all, bathtub peeling with mold, a white phone was almost black with dirt and grime, bed cover had holes and rips. Was moved to another room that was recently remodeled. This room was better than the first, but carpet was filthy, no alarm clock, no hair dryer, no coffee maker, sheets were torn, roaches in the bathtub, and TV only got one local channel (Waco channel). Toilet ran all night, craftsmanship of remodeling job was horrible.

This old Motel has really gone down. The Bathroom bath tub was so bad we could not use it. There was ants in the bathroom. Everything was wore out.

The info on Travel website stated the rooms were being renovated with completion scheduled for April 2008. Well they must have skipped our room. The bathtub was peeling, the microwave didn't work, the refridgerator had a cigarette burn mark on it. We went swimming at night and there was something flowing around in the bottom of the pool that felt like fabric or something. I wouldn't stay here again. The staff were very pleasant though.

The motel staff were friendly, but the room was not somewhere we would stay again. The room was non-smoking but had a wet carpet and smoke odor. The television didn't have a remote and the panel to change the channel had an exposed circuit board and wires. The worst part was the bed. Half the bed was firm and the other half felt like you were laying on springs. If you layed on the firm side it was angled to the middle of the bed so two people had to sleep smashed together. That is not an exaggeration. In general it looks like the property is in need of maintenance, except for the pool. The small pool looked well kept, but we didn't use it. The bathroom was pretty clean except for a little mold in the corner of the tub, and the AC was very cold. Breakfast was cereal, OJ and muffins, and there was a Mexican restaurant in the parking lot. The motel was in close proxmity to Texas A&M University, but there were several that were closer for a little more. That's what we decided to do.

Nothing. They over charged us. We had no toilet paper in the room when we checked in. This stranded my wife in the bathroom. We only had two bath towels the first night and one bath towel the second night. The air conditioner did not work properly. We had to keep calling the front desk and getting things brought up to our room such as toilet paper and towels. The pillows on the bed were not normal sleeping pillows. They were flat and could have been seen as throw pillows from a couch. We had a very hard time sleeping with these flat pillows.

Do not book a reservation here. Until the hotel clears the men loitering in the parking lot, this is not a safe place to stay. I couldn't even access the room because of the people hanging out on the balcony walkway, smoking, drinking, and conversing with other men in the parking lot sitting on their trucks. It was like a bad bar parking lot.
Date of Stay:
August, 2008
I was appalled by the bathroom. Tiles in the bathtub were bulged and bugs were crawling all around the tiles. Water was leaking in the bath tub and was as the sink. Bath tub was disgusting, no way were we going to take a bath. Bugs in a room should be reported to the Better Business Bureau.
