This was, by far, the WORST hotel experience I have ever had. I made my reservation for 2 nights. My original flight to Portland (which would have landed me at 1am on the first night of my reservation) was cancelled for mechanical reasons and my rebooked flight wasn't to arrive until 9pm on the next night. With this in mind, I called the hotel to inform them of the change in plans and to ask them to please hold the room since I *was* coming. The lady I spoke with (very friendly and accomodating) said that it was fine and my room would be saved for me. Seemed reasonable to me since, after all, I'd paid in advance. So it was a complete shock when I arrived that next night to find that the room had been given away!! There I was with my heavy bags that I'd lugged up the driveway and stairs, only to be told that, "I'm sorry. I know you called earlier and that someone told you that your room would be saved...but she should have checked first. If rooms are not claimed by 9pm, they are released as available. Now we are completely full. However, the Howard Johnsons down the street still has rooms available." (Far from sorry, the lady behind the desk didn't look at all concerned about the position she'd left me in.) Needless to say, I was very ticked. After all, I'd called in advance. On top of that, I'd indicated on my Orbitz reservation that I'd be a late arrival. So did this mean that even if I *had* arrived on my scheduled flight, landing in Portland at 1am and arriving at the hotel at 2am or so, that my room might have already been given away then, too?!? After all, it was after 9pm.... When I asked, the lady behind the desk didn't answer. Not that there was any need, since I now *had* my answer. So there I was, reservationless because America's Best Value had turned out to have America's Worst Service. At that point, I was so disgusted that I turned around and left. You can bet that I'll stick with the larger and more reputable chains from now on. At least with other ch

We found the staff to be exceptionally helpful, friendly and accommodating. Plain and outdated. Despite my initial uneasy feeling and not so positive impression of the hotel appearance, the staff made our experience positive.

It is an older hotel. I wanted a cheap hotel close to the airport and I got what I wanted. It was very basic but worth the value. We had early flights so missed breakfast. It was clean; the staff was nice; and had adequate parking.

we weren't there very much, we went to the Zoo, OMSI, The Children's Museme and Saturday Market. There aren't alot of food options near by. So with us not being there too much it's was aggravating when the front desk called to tell us the people below were complaining about noise. We have a 3 year old and an 8 year old with ADHD. Our kids were calmer then when at home. I liked the stove/oven that was in the room for long term stays. Also had to wait 15 min after check in for our room to be ready.

It was clean. Maids not trained at all - no washcloths day 3, not coffee day 4, etc. Hit and Miss. Goodplace to stay if your business is around the airport area.

Easy to find off of highway, free underground parking. Had aunt with me who was in a walker and there were steps from the parking area and in front of the hotel. Room was clean and large, but there were ashtrays in the room and it is supposedly non smoking. The neighborhood appeared to be very undesirable. Free continental breakfast, but dining room had few tables, stacks of old office furniture and very dirty carpeting. Did not eat there. Staff was pleasant and helpful.

It's difficult to find decent, low priced motels in the Portland area, this one met our needs and provided good security too. The suite was large, clean and had all the amenities, the free continental breakfast was the best we've had. I recommend the Best Value experience for budget travel.

Friendly staff. No pool or hot tub. Very impressed with this hotel. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean.

My biggest complaint was the heating/cooling unit. I had a two room "suite" with only one unit in one room and no way for the second room to be cooled or heated. On top of that, it was very noisy and woke me constantly. The room decor was very dated, but fairly spacious and mostly clean (except for some ants). The immediate neighborhood was okay and convenient to the airport, but the neighborhood quickly deteriorated a few blocks away. Parking was free. Continental breakfast was a joke (toast and coffee).

The location is perfect within walking distance to everything in Cannon Beach. There are lots of good eating spots and we hit them all. The ocean is only a few blocks away, but you could not see it from our room. The Hotel needs to be updated to command the price it is getting.

Do not recommend this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, but the surrounding area and parking garage felt unsafe. We were in a nonsmoking room, but the mattress smelled of cigarette smoke.

The motel was in a good location for getting back and forth to the airport and the stall was excellent in arranging for this. The motel was good in everyway but it did not have air conditioning and with the windows open there was a great deal of noise and it made it almost impossible to sleep.

It took too long to check me in because the manager would not help. The suite was a good deal with two bedrooms, but why bother giving me a kitchen if you dont give me any dishes, pots and pans, silverware or coffeepot? am I supposed to pack those things? also the parking is not adequate. Nevertheless, the staff was friendly and it is close to the airport, which is what I wanted.

Having a hotel shuttle and a suite like room was nice. Most of the hotel staff was rude and the location was in a sketchy area.

We stayed twice, one week apart from each other. The first night wasn't bad. We had a room on the first floor which was convenient. The room was clean, and the floor was quiet. The next Saturday seemed to be the complete opposite of all that. We checked in and were given a room on the second floor. There is no elevator there, so we had to lug our heavy luggage up the narrow stair cases to the room. We got to the room and see that the door is wide open and the room was still dirty. We go back down stairs and they give us another room on the first floor. We get to the room, and thankfully it was "clean". Come to find out that one bedroom was infested with ants which had spread to the bathroom, and the bed in the other room smelled like rancid sour cream. There were no other rooms available, so we were stuck with that one. We had a wonderful view of the nasty green pool which looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. The motel also offered a "huge" complimentary breakfast. We went to check it out, and all that was there was a loaf of bread sitting on a table with utensils, and a few containers of cereal. No one could have paid me to eat there. The motel wasn't in the greatest area either. I believe this motel was very overpriced for it's quality, and I recommend only staying there as a very last resort.

This hotel worked great for us because we were traveling with babies and my grandmother. The 3 bed room, ended up being 2 queen beds in the main room with a kitchen area(fridge/small freezer, stove top and oven, and a sink), and a bedroom with a queen bed. The continental breakfast was waffles, cereal, and juice so not a full meal but okay for if you just wanted something quick. This neighborhood is not for those expecting somewhere nice. It's a little run down, I'm from Portland so it didn't bother me. It felt safe in the hotel. The parking is a little bit of a pain as others mentioned. It is primarily underground. But for the value if traveling with a group I would recommend this hotel. We had 3 adults, 2 children, and 2 babies and had plenty of space.

The price. Kitchens without any dishes, cups, silverware or pots & pans. The price is right. The room was okay. Don't expect to eat from the kitchen because there are no dishes, cups, silverware or pots & pans. You must drive to another part of town to eat. Otherwise, the price is right.

This place is a second-rate DUMP. First of all, the people behind the desk do not know what they're doing; it took us 15 minutes to check out, while the staff member mumbled to herself about the computer system, etc. etc. etc. We didn't care; WE NEEDED TO CATCH A PLANE!! Secondly, even though this is a park-sleep-fly location, don't even THINK about leaving your car here for any period of time. Not only did the staffers leave our car unlocked (they actually jimmied it open so they could move it, and then left it UNLOCKED while we were gone), but they failed to secure the items in the car once the car was unlocked, and of course those items were stolen. Everything would have been OK if they had just ASSUMED RESPONSIBILITY for their mistake, but they were very cavalier about it and actually blamed US for their lack of attention!! The staff seems perpetually confused about what they're doing, There are MANY other places to stay in this area, all close to the airport with a shuttle and long-term car parking. Spend a little more and go somewhere else. It's not worth it to pay a little less and get this kind of crappy, unprofessional service. Why risk ruining your trip? Stay away from this dump!!!!!

American Best Values Inn is a good chain. After our first experience, we used it another place as well as using it upon our return. We also really appreciated their shuttle.

Proximity to airport. Not much parking space. Nice well-appointed rooms, not far from airport.
