It looked like they had recently "tried" to make some repairs to the room, new tile in the bathroom, new paint, etc. None of which was done very well. I think my 4 year old could have done a better job. The towels were thin and itchy. Not worth the money.

Bugs dead in the room. I did not feel that this hotel was worth the price.

It's a great place to stay if you are going to be out of the hotel all day; somewhere to sleep. We had no problems.

We stayed at the hotel on 10/28/08 and will never stay at an americas best value again. We had booked another of the same chain closer to our destination, but when we pulled into the parking lot,we stopped, locked the car, and went in and cancelled. It was FILTHY! So we called and booked at the one in New Braunfels thinking it would be fine. WRONG. The bathroom was old ,not clean, afraid to take a shower.. We only needed the room to sleep one night as we were visiting relation. I should have forfeited the money and found a different place. WORST I HAVE EVER BEEN IN !!!

We needed some extras for the room, like extra blankets and pillows, the desk clerk was quick to provide these. We had to return to the desk as they forgot to give us the key to the kitchette - no big deal! Hotel staff was friendly, room was comfortable and we were able to park near the room and stairs. No bugs anywhere. Pool was small but we were there for Schlitterbahn, and staying at this hotel saved us money and allowed us to spend the extra money at Schlitterbahn and in Gruene! My thanks to the hotel and its staff!

I was very unhappy with this hotel. The floor was warped and yoiu felt like you were going to fall through it. There was no clock, hair dryer or anything in the room. I will not stay here ever again. As far as I am concerned I should get my money back.

Bed was comfortable, sheets clean. AC never got cold and room smelled like mildew. Hotel was a little tricky to get into, could only get in going one direction unless you cut through convenience store parking lot. Room smelled as if it had been flooded and carpet padding never removed or cleaned.

The hotel room is large so you can easily accommodate four people. The rates are cheap comparatively to other hotels in the area, and they are not terrible. For college students taking a vacation it was great.

The room was not worth the price! WE paid 138.00 total in advance because it was a "good buy"! There were lots of roaches in the room. This was not a good buy at all.

The America's Best Value that we stayed in was a poor kept hotel for the price we paid. The ceiling had duck tape...the tv was not visable..and there were crickets everywhere...in our room. The only good thing was the check-in.. it was quick...but we paid to much money for a very unkepted...hotel...it's not nice having to see duck tape on the wall...and the locks on the doors....well that'a another story...the room we rented in San Antonio the night after...was less money ....same size room , very well kepted and no duck tape on the ceiling....I hope that next time...we will have a better experience...

Absolutely nothing. It should be torn down. Everything was gross and inconvenient. This hotel is not the place you want to stay. First there was an awful smell of sewage in the lobby upon check in. There was no hair dryer or iron / ironing board in the room and the ones provided by the hotel were disgusting. Second, this hotel does not even have an entrance. It uses the one from the hotel next to it. Which the entrance is at the corner of a major road and IH-35. The pool looks like a big bath tub and it is in the middle of the parking lot. There was also no plug in the sink/restroom area so that a blow dryer could be plugged in. The room just felt dirty and the service was terrible.

We have never checked into a motel/hotel and checked out right after turning the lights on in the room. To begin with, the building had lights along the doorways of all the rooms but none were on. We could hardly see to put the key card into the slot to open the door to the room. After fumbling in the dark hallway, finally getting the door open and turning on the lights in the room, we could hardly believe the smell and the filth of the room. As proof that the smelly carpet had not even been vacuumed, laid the evidence- - a used plastic fork and styrofoam dish were laying in the middle of the floor. Housekeeping would have had to pick those up, vacuum and then set them back down again if vacuuming had actually been done. As if we needed to know, my wife pushed on the bed and it hardly gave way at all- - may as well sleep on the cement outside. We turned right around, without disturbing or cleaning up the room, to go back to the office to check out!

America's Best Value Inn in New Braunfels was anything BUT a best value. The room was supposed to have an in room kitchenette...there wasn't even a fridge or microwave in the room. There were dead bugs scattered throughout the room. The remote control to the television did not work. We checked in and immediately left to a family reunion only to return to all of these issues about 11 p.m. It was too late to bother calling the front desk to correct these problems. I will NEVER stay at this hotel again and will advise my family and friends about our visit.

The fact it had a bed. No A/C, terrible customer service, rude employees. They confirmed on phone that a king bed is available. I asked if I could switch that to two doubles and they said that would not be a problem. Upon arriving, it appears this conversation never happened and there were no doubles available. The clerk was very rude and unaccommodating. I called as someone else to see if any doubles were available and there were two on hand. When I confronted the employee with this new bit of information he said if I wanted two doubles I needed to pay more dollars. I took my room in disgust and will never return.

We booked directly with the motel and not through online travel website because we were staying for 9 nights and I was afraid of being locked into a motel for that length of time just in case we were not happy. When we got to the motel it was 10:30 at night, it was a dump, plus it was a week-end with no vacancy in the whole city. The night clerk was rude and wanted to charge my credit card for the entire 9 nights right away. I told him I was not sure how many nights we wanted to stay and he wanted a definite number of nights. I asked if we could get a refund if he charged for more nights than we actually stayed and he said "No". I asked if I could look at the room and he said I could , but he wanted to hold on to my credit card while I looked at the room. My husband stayed in the office with the clerk and my card whild I took one of the older children with me. We were stuck for 2 nights until a vacancy at another hotel. I did not allow food to be consumed in the room it was so dirty! There were holes in the carpet. The security lock on the door between the rooms was a flimsy chain!! There was a beer bottle cap on the counter in the kitchen section as well as a partially consumed bottle of water in the refrigerator. The refrigerator was very old and run down and I would not allowit to be used for anything. It belonged in a junk pile--like some of the cars that parked in the parking lot around us!!

Price and location. Too plain, bedding not very soft. Remote for TV did not work. Very basic and cheap.

My 10 yr old son and I drove in the lot and both said OH NO. People hanging aroung the rooms outside during the day. We got as far and checking in- they would not let me cancel trservation- getting the local yellow pages out and luckily, a room at a MUCH BETTER hotel was available.

There is absolutely nothing I liked about this hotel. Made my allergies flare up, difficult to get to, dirty inside and outside. I would not recommend this hotel for anyone. I think there must be a lot of mold damage because my daughter and I could not breathe while we stayed there. We booked two nights and only stayed one. Checked out early and paid regular price for a room in San Antonio. The location seems really convenient when looked at on a map. The place was disgusting. It was dirty inside and out. I asked for a double and they said they did not have any. The hotel was at less than half capacity.

Maid service. Lobby smelled like sewage. This hotel obviously catered only to those playing in the river and did not try to keep up the room so that it was a comfortable place to relax. Prices were too high for the accommodations. The lobby smelled like sewage, so there was no way to take advantage of the free breakfast.

Absolutely nothing. Everything about the facility was less than sub-standard. The hotel was disgusting and uninhabitable.
