This was, by far, the best value for the area, especially in the middle of summer. The room was a little bit shabby but not bad. Light bulbs were burned out and Internet signal was weak. Those are the only complaints. But comparable rooms were 50% to 400% higher. This hotel does a good job.

My boyfriend and I visit Mackinaw city every Sept. for the truck show. We have stayed at this hotel every time we have gone up there. The rooms are large, although the bathroom could be bigger. We eat breakfast every morning at the hotel. It really helps out not to have to buy breakfast every morning. It is in a great location for the truck show parade. We can walk from the hotel to the parade it is wonderful. We will stay there every year. It is very convient and safe. Even with the busy weekend that we go up it is still quiet and peaceful.

The hotel is a bit further away from the "main street" of Mackinaw City, only about 3 blocks, however for the price and the amenities that are included, it is the best value of the whole area. Our room was very spacious and felt very comfortable. The heat lamp in the bathroom and the very large pool area were specific perks. In addition the free continental breakfast was also an added bonus. The only negative point was the slight smokey odor. However with how local the whole Mackinaw City area is, everything is within a 5 minute drive from the hotel and we found ourselves close to all of the main attractions including food, shopping, and the ferries to the island.

If you're just looking for a no frills room to sleep and shower in, this is it! Great price for a room with 3 beds in it. Good housekeeping staff. Great, friendly, helpful front desk workers.

A lot of fun. And plenty enough room for the family. The pool was great and the breakfast in the morning was ok.

the hotel was simply dirty!! chairs and sofa in the room were stained and the air from the air conditioner unit smell bad. my wife had to clean the refrigerator. people travelling with us had the same impression. should we be refunded for the bad experience? i think we should. thank you

We received an upgrade on our room. It was very clean. Loved the breakfast, so well taken care of. Mackinaw City is a great place to shop and eat. Nice walking around the town, even a laser show at night.

After reading the many reviews on this hotel it seems there are different qualities of rooms. Some have newer carpet and are clean others not so nice. Ours did not have newer carpet but the bothersome quality of the room was the musty smell, cobwebs, and mold on the shower curtain. Cobwebs and the mold could be cheaply and easily remedied. I hope the hotel will read these comments to reduce bad reviews. We chose the hotel because of its great price, free breakfast bar, and indoor pool. This all worked out pretty well. One more recommendation would be to improve the breakfast bars' nutritional value - also could be done inexpensively! All and all the room was large enough and it had everything we needed, we had great service such as the room being in order, fresh towels, soap, shampoo, and lotion every night we returned from sightseeing. The staff was friendly also!

When we arrived at the motel and checked in, our room was not what we thought we would be getting. Our second night was better and we upgraded our room and it was better.

We got our room for about $$ right in Mackinaw City, 5 minutes from the Ferry. It's a newer hotel with a very nice and sizable indoor pool and spa. There is a separate breakfast room & deck in the center of the parking lot. The breakfast was great. You could even make waffles. Even though the highway is very near (convenient) it was very quiet in our room and spacious and clean. The service was very professional and friendly. The TV was a good size and had lots of channels. We were so impressed with the place for the price that we wrote to the manager to let him/her know we would recommend their hotel to friends. We'd definitely stay there again. The only things that we would have liked a bit better would be a bit more space in the toilet/tub area. It's tight. Also, the pillows could have been a bit better. They weren't bad, just not as full as we are used to. The sink/vanity area makes up for the lack of space in the tub area. Also, it would be helpful for someone on staff to dry the tables and chairs on the breakfast deck when there is earlier dew or rain.

America's Best Value Inn, Mackinaw City, Michigan was a good place to stay. The extreme cold weather has taken its toll on the property. My family liked the breakfast, especially the hot waffles.

For the price this hotel can not be beat. This is my 3rd trip to the Mackinaw area in the last year. Two of the stays were at this Hotel. The room was clean, and well worth the money. I stayed at another hotel last time and paid 4 times more, and the room was not that much better. The air conditioner in our room kept icing up,though. Thank goodness it was cool in the evenings. This visit the breakfast was lacking, poor quality fruit, but otherwise was ok. The Pool is large and kept clean. Towels were fluffy and plentiful. Our room was also very quiet in the evening, which was very important to us. All attractions are close by, and if you don't plan on staying in your room all day, this is the place to stay. I will be back in the Fall for sure!

America's Best Value Inn was very family friendly! It is close to everything in the area. There is shuttle service to the boats that go to the island and the casino. The breakfast room is centrally located to all the rooms. The woman that over sees it is wonderful and very good at waffles. The inside pool and spa are very nice, lots of chairs and loungers. The room was very clean, the beds were a little on the hard side. The vanity area is seperate from the bathroom area. Parking is at the door for first floor rooms. All the rooms are non-smokeing but you can smoke outside comfortably. It was a very nice stay. The walk to downtown is rather long but there is plenty of parking where ever you go. The front desk is great at directions!

We enjoyed our stay at Americas Best Value. The bathroom needed some work, but the room was large (3 queen size beds) and the breakfast was nice. The room was also clean and I liked having a small refrigerator in the room. For the money, I would advocated this hotel to anyone.

The pool was fantastic, but they are a bit skinchy on pillows in the rooms and though they did have a coffee pot and coffee, they had no sugar or cream. Also, didn't much care for the mold on the bathroom ceiling, they could at least paint over it, pretty gross. Very close to Thunder Falls Water Park, which is why we were there.

When I first saw the price, I thought how could this place be nice for such a cheap price. Most of the other hotels in the area are charging much more. I took a chance and was very pleased. This place is not luxurious or ornate in any way, but it is clean, with standard amenities and a couple of extras. By that I mean they don't have to provide an ironing board, iron and refrigerator but they do. This place reminds me of one of those hotel/motels from the sixties with two levels where you enter all the rooms from the outside and there is no elevator, only walk-up stairways. Kinda nostalgic. The parking lot is well lit. I felt safe. There is also a cute dining area right in the center of the parking area where continental breakfast is available. The carpet and bedspreads in my room appeared to be new. The accommodations are well maintained, comfortable and nice for the price.

The price is right for America's Best Value Inn, Mackinaw City, Michigan. Mackinaw City is a great location and this motel is close to everything. The Room was clean and pleasant and the waffle/continental breakfast was very enjoyable--GREAT fruit! We will definately consider staying here whenever we return to the straits.

We got a "great deal" for a three queen bed room for $*00 a night. I knew that this was a smaller motel and knew that it would not be as glamorous as other hotels in the area. When I was checking in, I was told that the room I had reserved was not available. They said that they had a room on ground level with two queens instead. I said it was ok because my family needed a place to stay for the night. When we went in the room, it was not as clean as it should have been....spiders, cobwebs, etc. Also, the beds were very loud...there was a plastic cover on the mattress. The pool was not very clean...cloudy water and very cold. We were scheduled to stay for three days, but left after two because it was just awful! I was not able to get my money back either...they said they couldn't do it! PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU WANT TO ENJOY YOUR VACATION!!!!!

We stopped at this motel just to sleep prior to heading to our final 4 day destination on Mackinac Island. The hotel was a great price and was extremely clean and included breakfast. Lots of kids running around and a big pool but it wasn't open until we were already on our way out. Older hotel but would definitely recommend as it was a good value for us.
