My friend and I rented a room at America's Best Value Inn in Geneva, NY. This was neither America's Best nor a value. The room was dirty, when asked to chance to a cleaner room, we were told no ohter room was a value. We went and bought cleaner to clean and disinfect the bathroom and the rest of the room. The carpet had not been cleaned, the jacuzzi was just plan disgusting. This was not a great experience, especially coming to the room after a wedding and having had a great time. The stress and extra work to get the room cleaned was horrible. There is no value here. Even when we complained to the front desk and management they would do nothing. We could leave, but we were not going to be refunded nor were there other hotels with opening in the area.

Hotel was a very good value. It does not have good sound barrier as you will hear people in hall, outside and next door. I would stay again, good amenities, just not as quiet as I would like

Absolutely Nothing except the price. Pay more stay elsewhere. Everything except the price. Pay more stay elsewhere. We arrived somewhat late (after 9pm) and the front desk clerk greeted us with a what the hell do you want attitude. He gave us our room key and grunted goodnight. Upon arriving at our building, we thought we would be robbed walking in, it was dark, barely lit, and quite frankly kinda scary. As soon as we walked in the lobby, hate smell of smoke (in a nonsmoking building) hit us like a ton of bricks. The hallway smelled like a gym full of people. The room was hot, smelly, and the sheets were dirty, with hair in several places. There were 3 bugs in our room over 3 nights (3 species). Our keys didn't work 5 different times during the stay. The continental breakfast was nothing more than bagels and some warm juice.

The price was right but I guess you get what you pay for. We went with another couple and were actually supposed to be in 2 different buildings, not even near each other...requested to be in the same area and then had to wait for half hour while the room was cleaned so we could get in. There was a trickle of water in the bathroom sink, so it was rather difficult to wash your face or brush your teeth, then in the morning the shower alternated between cold and hot water....and finally just stayed cool. There was supposed to be a dryer, iron, ironing board in every room, but there was not...fortunately I brought my own dryer. Definitely would not stay again...it would well be worth it to pay a higher price for quality.

We enjoyed our stay here just fine. The staff was great to us and our small children. Free Breakfast was nice , fresh and good. Over all great stay and LOTS to see and do in the area. Saw some great waterfalls, and toured a winery. I would go back in a heartbeat. Beautiful area.

The room we were allocated first was not even made up, so we had to go back to the front desk for a change of room. No shampoo in the room just a soap. There was no clock and no coffee pot. The location was so close to lake and parks. All the fast food places are just a short walk.

Location. Building maintenance needs attention. This is a no frills no thrills place to sleep. Their breakfast leaves a lot to be desired.

We had to cancel our second night that we were to stay - they did not credit our account saying we needed to contact ORBITZ to cancel the night of May 24th (Sunday) and receive a credit on our charge. The room was very dirty - paint peeling off the walls & ceiling. Rust on tht lamps between the 2 beds - rust on the towel rack in the bathroom. Our blankets were dirty on the bed so we did not use them. Hair in the bathtub and toilet paper floating in the toilet. The room smelled awful. The carpeting was dirty. No towels or hot water when we arrived. I would not recomemd anyone staying in this motel. I left an expensive pair of sandals in the room when we left Sunday morning - we went back in the early evening to find them. The room had not been rented out - and the housekeeper had been in the rooom. They let my husband search the room. He did not find them and they said they were not turned in @ the desk. Now someone has my Finn Comfort Sandals I paid over $150.00 for and they were only a year old. Please contact me on this and also please process a credit for our stay - Sunday night we had to go to the Hampton Inn in Geneva - It was beautiful and clean. Thank you for your help. I would not list Americas Best Value Inn on your website. Wyoma Chambala

Staff wasvery nice, close to where I had work. Decor was ugly and curtain cord broken. It's convenient to the main roads into the Geneva area and to William Smith-Hobart College, Seneca Lake and other sites of interest, including Finger Lakes Wineries.

This hotel should not be on travel agency's website. It is dirty and overpriced. I cannot think of one positive thing. Our original room request was not honored and we were charged more for a lesser room. The shower curtain was black with dirt or mold. The bathroom was tiny with no counters and extremely old corroded fixtures. It was a tiny room with no closet, a loud old air conditioner in the wall, and scratched dirty walls and doors.

Very nice room, extremely comfortable bed, very good climate control. rooms just newly renovated in june 2008 with all new bedding and room furnitures.Unusually pleasant and efficient front desk personnel. close enough to the town that it's pretty convenient. Internet access with wireless. Overall, good valued stay at americas best value inn geneva.location is great lots of choice for breakfast and many country restaurants.I would stay again.

Americas Best Value Inn, Geneva, New York, formally the Chantileer, is very Close to Hobart College. It is old and a bit run down, the rooms are small, and the furnishing leave a bit to be desired. The rooms are clean, however being so old makes one wonder about mold etc.Rte 20 very close to rooms in front of Motel, and there is constant road noise. Fast food resturants are abundant closeby. Fine for a brief overnight, but I would not take my Mother there!

Close to HWS--there for a reunion Smelly, sketchy, door didn’t' lock and easy access for anyone to the rooms.

Stayed 2 nights, August 13 and 14. Room not too bad, but their "renovations" were definitely done as cheaply as possible. Bathroom fairly clean, but mold in shower area. Room was mostly clean, a couple of spiderwebs (and a spider) in corner. Curtains wouldn't close all the way so had to pin them shut for privacy. Bed was well used, about half the springs were broken. Pictures are deceiving on the web site. The beautiful inground pool that is shown no longer exists. It has been filled in with dirt. Rooms appear much nicer in the pictures than they actuallly are, but there are several different buildings so maybe some are better than others. There are no wineries within walking distance as stated-closest one about five miles. There are several fast food places/pharmacies/strip malls right in vicinity. Continental breakfast consisted of donuts/toast/cold cereal/coffee/juice. Seems to be a popular place with out of town work crews, about 15 trucks from a construction company building a new Lowes in the parking lot. Personally if I was staying by myself I'd stay again, but my wife has a different opinion ;-) Overall, if you are looking for a place to sleep that is not $+ a night, this will do it. If you're looking for more, look elsewhere.

I've stayed in hundreds of motels from budget priced to deluxe and never seen one as filthy as this. The shower in the bathroom was a black mess of mold and fungus. The carpet on the floor was sticky, the towels were stained. The toilet stuck running every time it was flushed.
