We took this hotel to be in Gainesville for our son's graduation. Hotels were limited and we chose this one. We should have paid twice the price and gotten a decent place to stay. Problems: there was flooding under the bed which we only discovered the second day. There was a smell of urine - the worst! As we checked out, another customer told of bed bugs and a leaky toilet. Don't go there, ever!!!!

This hotel is very run down, ugly, and apparently has people that permanently live there! The walls are super-thin... I woke up at 6am to the sound of a couple having an extended conversation next door... it was like they were in my room with me and they weren't even screaming!! I'm not usually one to write a review and don't need bells and whistles but this was overpriced and nasty.

Nothing, it was deplorable. I disliked just about everything. The hotel was deplorable. The room had towels that were so old and thin. The beds didn't have blankets on them. The comforters had cigarette burns on them. The room was filthy, dusty, the curtains were filthy. The shower did not drain. There was no alarm clock. The TV remote did not work. The room had apparently been flooded at one point because the bottom of the bathroom door was rotting. I will never stay at this hotel/motel chain again.

Hotel was not in a good area even though close to the University. Very dirty, unfriendly desk clerk, doors on rooms felt unsafe and unsecure.....I was a 25 year old traveling to Gainsville to take Finals for my Masters Program. Don't stay here.....I felt threatened and very unsafe. The Front Desk clerk was uncooperative, unfriendly and not helpful. I left immediately and checked into another hotel.

The neighbourhood is shady and the room hygeine is bare minimum. If you're a student or travelling alone, and are on a tight budget, then this might be a good option. Otherwise, forget about it.

Convenient to Shands Hospital. This hotel was easily accessed from either north or south approach. Only about 2.5 miles from Shands Hospital. The rooms were clean, the housekeeping was fast and efficient. The front desk staff was courteous and friendly. Overall, a pleasant stay.

We stayed at the Americas Best Value Inn on a UF game weekend, so it was one of our only choices and was much overpriced. I came with my family, and the moment we pulled into the parking lot, I was nervous about staying here. We walked into our room, and it smelled horribly musty. Overall, everything seemed clean, but just not very quality. The staff was nice and helpful.

Our room was priced above average because it was a UF game weekend. When we arrived the room smelled so badly of mildew that we had to go out and buy a can of Lysol to spray it down. The room itself was dingy with minimal amenities. Towels were thin and worn and the bedding was no better. Could not use the dresser drawers because of some sticky liquid that someone had spilled in them. The room and bed were not made the next day. Just another load of threadbare towels were delivered. We only stayed because there were no other vacancies in Gainesville that weekend. Would not recommend this place to anyone looking for decent, clean accomodations. Would not go back to this property.

Americas Best Value Inn was a nice, comfortable place to stay. I really liked the location. It was close to UF and Downtown. It was very quiet even though there were people on either side of my room. I felt safe staying here also. I also liked that there was a refridgerator and microwave in my room (very convenient). I would recommend others to stay here as long as they are not expecting a grand resort.

It is in a convenient area and the front desk staff was nice and helpful. It is in a bad part of town and I was a little scared to leave my room. The hotel staff was helpful and nice but the rooms are a bit run down. There is a pool so it might be nice for families with kids, but it's not in a very safe area.

we stayed here for a weekend seminar at the university. the hotel was close to the university which made it very nice. it was surprisingly clean given the age of the hotel. while there was a refrigerator and microwave in the room, there was NO COFFEE maker IN THE ROOM. while they did have coffee available in the lobby, the lobby DID NOT OPEN UNTIL at least 7 a.m. the rooms are very small but the staff was nice.

Contrary to their namesake, America's Best Value Inn, Gainesville, was not a good value by any stretch of the imagination-- the facilities were dreary and umkempt. Initially, I requested a smoking room because it would be available sooner. The smoking room, however, was filled with a pungent odor akin to a highway reconstruction crew with a hint of tar. The innkeeper on duty, however, was quick to switch my room after I brought the stench to her attention. The bathrooms, although cleaned daily, had a caked on grime that populated the lion's share of bathroom tiles and grout. After brushing my teeth in that bathroom my mouth felt somehow dirtier. Even so, the entire staff was very pleasant, if not down-right accomodating to anything I needed.

Staff was very warm and welcoming, parking spaces were right outside of my room. There were a lot of box springs and mattresses in the hallways. Clean, no frills, friendly personnel, close to UF.

The rooms are clean. Easy access to parking. Located very close to U of F. No cigarette smell in the room. The grounds were neat and clean. I liked the fact that the sink was in the bathroom, and not in the sleeping area. If you're looking for fancy frills, this place is not for you. But, if you need a nice place to stay that doesn't cost a lot of money, yoou've found it here.

Americas Best Value Inn Gainesville was completely adequate. I liked that they provided a refrigerator, table and chairs and had cable television and a pool. Interaction with staff was excellent, efficient and helpful. They also were located right next to a really great Thai Restaurant and I could keep the leftovers in my fridge. My room had not been renovated in recently so it had felt a little grungy.

Best hotel I have stayed at in Gainesville. Wireless internet was an additional charge. I have stayed at 4 different hotels in Gainesville. I wouldn't call any of them luxury. This hotel, although a little seedy, was still the best I have stayed at in the area, and this includes the pricier Holiday Inn.
