Tournament, the staff when we arrived were very friendly, and were able to accomadate us in a single room with two beds smoking.. We checked out the room it was dirty there were dead roaches on the floor, the toilet was loose..it smelled like a bar the carpet was filthy stains everywhere was overprized..bought lysol, and roach killer.would i stay there again! Someone should call the Health Dept. in Carlsbad and report them this is a health issue! NEVER!

A filthy room. The room was horrific. They said that was why they were remodeling. Remodeling had nothing to do with the filthy. If the room was clean, thanI might not have felt that it was horribly overpriced. But even if it was clean, was overpriced for all the remodeling going on. I couldn't tell they had done anything except rope off and plant stuff. Plant after its cleaned.

This place was horrible. It was a scary, gross, old motel. Worst of all our door did not even work and we could just walk in the room.

This was the worst experience ever. The air conditioning did not work for the entire hotel! When asked about this the management merely offered a fan for each of our rooms. On a day when the temperature outside reached 100 degrees this was unacceptable! There is no way I should have been made to pay for two rooms with no air conditioning, b ut that was exactly what the management expected me to do, telling me I could check out if I did not like it. This was a completely unprofessional way to do business and something should be done!

Staff was friendly. Too much outside noise. I would not recommend this place for anyone who wants to sleep at night. Also, the place is on a central heat/cool system - so you can't control your own room's temperature.

This is a budget hotel with budget accommodations. The rooms are small, a bit outdated and dingy and the service is minimal. With that in mind, it isn't the worst place I have ever stayed. It was relatively clean, the staff was friendly, and over all it is a good place for any college road trippers to stay. In fact, gauging from the beer bottle caps around the place, it looks as if most of the guests were enjoying themselves immensely! If you are used to more name brand hotels and a higher level of cleanliness than your average frat boy, this place isn't for you. However, if your idea of luxury is a mini-fridge, a microwave, a bed, and a toilet that works, you'll be in heaven. Oh, and you get breakfast!

This hotel was very affordable, and comfortable for a quick stay with the kids. It would have less value for a longer stay as the pool, is very small and adjacent to the parking lot. It is close to the highways, and the rooms were very comfortable\quiet for the price. The check in staff asked too many questions (e.g. how many children, what are their ages, etc.)at check-in which made me a bit uncomfortable. Continental breakfast was average.

Location to Caverns. Room looked thrown together and was not a non-smoking room. There is a bar attached to the hotel that is loud until 1am and the rooms smell bad. We had a recliner that was so old and bent.

First room lasted 10 minutes when we discovered the shower faucet knob fell off a stripped valve and curtain pulls were inoperative. Second room was better but window over door was broken allowing plenty of fresh air. In addition, the toilet valve ran all the time so we had to manually shut off the water so we could sleep.

The room had roaches. The air Conditioner was noisy, and the toilet run all the time.

We were very disappointed in this motel! The first room we were issued had no microwave, so the clerk offered to move us to another room, which was supposed to be a non-smoking room but reeked of stale smoke! The room we finally ended up in had a microwave, but it didn't work! The beds weren't the queen- or king-size that I had asked for, either, and on top of everything else, the WIFI was on the fritz! This establishment is in dire need of renovation, too! Paint was peeling off the doors and walls, and the mattresses were quite old, worn, and uncomfortable. Also, only one of the four lights in the main part of the room worked! On a positive note, the pool was good, and there is a lounge/restaurant on the premises. The location is also pretty good and convenient. The desk clerk mentioned earlier was a nice young college student who tried her best to make everything right for us, but she was the only staff member on duty at the time and could only do just so much. Anyone considering a trip to Carlsbad would do well to avoid this motel!

We had just come from a very nice 4-star resort in Santa Fe...this place was rated 3-star...1.5 or 2 is more realistic. We've stayed in worse dumps, but would not return here or recommend it to friends.

Room was large, not well maintained though. Heater/AC made noise all night. Heater did not warm sufficiently. Refrigerator made noise as well. Hotel kind of run down but would stay there again.
