The goal of the AmericInn of Prairie du Chien is to be the standard by which all other lodging is compared. The franchise awards and guest satisfaction scores indicate that is being achieved. The guest is greeted with a check in snack and followed by warm cookies and milk from 7 to 9. Free DVD's and players and complimentary popcorn are available at the front desk. An indoor heated pool and whirlpool spa are a welcome place to relax. An exercise room is provided. A business center is available in the lobby. Serta Plush top mattresses are used throughout as well as six rooms equipped with the Sleep Number beds by Select Comfort. The hotel boasts of one of the best breakfasts in the business. The king rooms have leather recliners and all rooms have 32" LCD televisions. January 1, 2008 the hotel will become a completely non-smoking hotel.

The hotel even offered free nachos, milk, cookies and popcorn every night! The breakfast was fantastic and the room was very comfortable and clean.

The massage chair and free breakfast were nice. The room was pretty nice overall. The pool area was unsafe with unsupervised children. Staff need better training on how to handle incidents. Beware of the pool area if you have small children. The staff allowed kids to be in pool area unsupervised. Our daughter was jumped on by one of the unsupervised kids. The staff did not handle things professionally and did not follow up with us on the incident.

Have stayed at this hotel several times previously. Is very clean and well kept; beds are very comfortable. Free breakfast leaves something to be desired; waffles taste like cardboard and rubber and eggs are not much better. Fitness Center is a joke; tiny room with two pieces of equipment. But it is very quiet, clean and comfortable and the location is perfect for us when we visit family in nearby Iowa. A bit pricey compared to their competition in Prairie du Chien.
