Room was very nice. No elevator. This would be a fine place if you are on the first floor if you have any luggage at all. No elevator is a problem.

We spent a single night in the AmericInn during a regional hockey tournament. We were apprehensive about noise given the the number of people staying there, and especially children running around, but were pleased with the relative quiet once we were in our room. The building is clean and the lobby area is very nice. Plenty of places to sit and relax or read a book if you like. The room was clean, too, and the beds were quite comfortable. The room comes with cable TV and high speed internet. The TV was a little small, but acceptable to us. Other features include a decent-sized bathroom, hair dryer, coffee pot, and ironing board with iron. Continental breakfast is part of the deal, and it is ample. Cereals, donuts & pastries, yogurt & fresh fruit, and you can make your own waffles, which seems to be pretty common everywhere we go these days. We found the staff to be competent and helpful, although not the most outgoing we've encountered. There is no restaurant in the hotel. Fortunately, there's a McDonald's right next door if you're into fast food, and the best restaurant in town, University Station (try the ribs!), is just across the highway and north a little. Overall, this was a good stay and we're likely to book there again. This is probably the nicest of the three or four hotels in Crookston, and likely the priciest. If a good night's sleep is what you're counting on, though, it will probably be worth the extra money.
