The Americinn (splashland) in Ashland is a very family friendly place. The pool is easily accessible and very warm. The lifeguards do their job and will reduce privileges for kids that are too rowdy and ruining the experience of others (pushing, shoving, racing, etc.). Paddle boats and smores are available free. The rooms are sound proof. Never heard a peep from the hallways or our neighbors. Great experience.

We were quite satisfied with the stay at Americinn. The rooms were quiet even though we had other families around us. Clean,good facilities. The only real downsides were the location of the food area, you got wet from users of the water slide. And the beds were tough to take after the 1st nite, which seems to be common with most hotels, as no one wants to buy good beds. Overall we would stay there again, we had a family of 5 and there was enough room. The room was pleasant to be in. The location was close enough to food and other facilities.

They had a fire pit outside, next to the lake so kids could make smores each evening. My kids loved that. Wonderful family hotel located next to Lake Superior.

The AmericInn of Ashland was one of the nicest hotel experiences we've ever had. Everything about it, from the location to the staff to the amenities was enjoyable. The view of Lake Superior was par excellent and the indoor waterpark was a lot of fun, even for an old-coot-in-the-making like me. Although our stay occurred during the summer, the area is a great place for a a getaway during any season of the year.

We did not utilize the waterpark facilities, but they looked very nice. One area of disappointment was the inability to get a late night meal in the area. We attended a concert in the Bayfield area and it was 11:00 by the time we got back to the motel. None of the area restaurants were open past 10:00. So be prepared if you need to go out to eat late in the evening.

This was adifferent part of the country and a hotle we were not familiar with. It was excellent in all ways but the staff, and the breakfast lady were especially impressive. She even got some sugar free syrup for my diabetic husband for the second day of our stay. We loved it!
