Located by the beach, which is nice. We didn't try the nearest restaurants but dined downtown, which isn't a bad drive. The rooms seem to have been remodeled recently- new furniture and what not. Comfortable beds, good service and decent breakfast. It was clean and the pool and grounds were always being checked. Close to grocery stores and places to pick up necessities. Close to rental shops for bikes and beach stuff. Other people complain about thin walls, but I've experienced much worse. Overall we really enjoyed it and would stay there again. It was a little pricey, but I don't know if it was because of the holiday or not.

I have been coming to the Amelia Hotel every three-four weeks for months now. I am always greeted by name, smiling faces, who will do just about anything to make me happy. Clean, fresh smelling rooms, great breakfast, friendly staff, great location. I highly recommend this hotwl to even the most seasoned travelers.

6/2/08 We loved this little hotel on the beach at Amelia Island. This is not a giant resort but a a clean, friendly, comfortable hideaway from which to explore the island. Staff was totally cool and knew everything about the island. Fabulously comfortable beds and luxurious linens, Giant HDTV, fridge, microwave. Good breakfast w/ fresh organes. Beach rentals across the street. Sliders restaurant with excellent food and Jimmy Buffet atmosphere over looking ocean. Everything new and nice. You can't go wrong with this one. Try the electric cars....

The pool was very small. The location was great. Not on the beach but right across the street. This hotel had alot of families in there, I was looking for a romantic get away, this was not that. Even the restaurant across the street was geared for families the whole weekend. I would book this during the week off season for a romantic get away. Service was good, breakfast was a typical hot/cold continental. But was gone by 9:00 am. So there is no sleeping in here! Hotel is small so all during the day you are walking around the cleaning staff. The desk staff was friendly depending on when you got there. Checking in they were very happy to see you, when you left they could care less.

The staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. The curtains had mold on them. The Amelia hotel is right across the street from the beach and the staff are so friendly. They arranged for us to check in to our room early. The beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. Also, the aveda batch products cannot be beat.

What a great find! This hotel is right across the street from the beach, very modern, delightful staff, exceptionally clean; a tremendous value for the money! Thanks to my online travel website!

The Amelia Hotel and Suites is right across the street from the beach and several restaurants. The hotel staff were very nice and accommodating. Breakfast was pretty decent - they offered several hot items too! The rooms were very nice, comfortable and clean. The front desk also has board games to use during your stay. We'd definitely stay here again!!!

The hotel was very nice, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Waking up to a lovely breakfast was just icing on the cake. The hotel was located just across the street from the beach and within a short drive to downtown historic Fernandina Beach. We found many wonderful eating establishments within walking distance or a short car ride. And best of all, I got all of this at a great price!

The rooms were spacious and the beds were great! The hotel was above ad beyond our expectation!! We went just to spend a day at the beach it was a great location to just walk over. The hotel had a great breakfast, and the beds were extremely comfortable, we didn't want to go to our next hotel because we knew our beds wouldn’t be nearly as comfortable!

My children and I stayed there on 1/2--1/5/09. The hotel is very nice. The beach is right across the street. We did not swim because the water was cold and rough. There were several dead jelly fish on the beach. The area is very good for walking or biking. We walked into town from the hotel. The taxi drivers are very pleasant and helpful, they gave us a little history of the island and places to see. Hotel room was clean and nicely decorated. The hotel staff were pleasant. Complimentary breakfast is more than complimentary, it is more like a hot breakfast. The town people are pecular.

We stayed here for an attempt at a romantic getaway. The ocenfront view overlooked power cables and construction sites. The hotel was undergoing long term renovations and made no attempt at hiding the work. Although we had a room with a jacuzzi tub, in order to get hot water to the room we had to run the water for 20+ minutes and then there was insufficient water to fill the tub. The shower was mediocre. Our suite was a single room with a balcony overlooking nothing. Overall, this place in no different than your average interstate hotel.

O.K. Let's get the negatives out of the way. Low water pressure in the showers, and double beds(prefer queen). That's it! Nothing else negative to speak of. This hotel has just had a major remodeling and it shows. Great rooms (we stayed on the second floor overlooking the pool), very clean hotel inside and out,great/friendly staff, and although the beds were smaller than I prefer, they were VERY comfortable! It is right across the street from the beach or you can drive about 2-3 miles south or 1-2 miles north for other parking areas for the beach. Fort Clinch State Park is a couple miles north of the motel and is a great place for hiking or just driving thru and also has a fishing pier, beach access, fort, playground, and much more. There are great restaurants all over the island from Wendy's and Dairy Queen up to Barbara Jeans, Sliders, and even the Crab Trap in beautiful downtown Fernandina Beach (my wife's fave which happens to be owned by Amelia Hotel). We have been to Amelia Island about 6 times now and have stayed at "another motel" but have now found the hotel we will be staying at the next 6 times! If you are looking for a great family beach vacation without all the partying and noise, Amelia Island is the place to come and Amelia Hotel at the Beach is THE place to stay!!

Location, Beach access. Not as nice as expected. Counter service was excellent and friendly. I expected more ambiance. This was not much more than a slightly upgraded Howard Johnson. It was clean, no coffee cups, but there was a single cup coffee maker. Other than location, I would not stay here again.

It should be noted that this hotel is not on the beach - it is accross the street from the bar and grill that is on the beach. We were disappointed that not all the rooms faced the ocean. Nonetheless, it is a very clean and quite hotel, right across the street from the beach. The staff was very helpful, and the full breakfast (eggs, sausage/bacon, rolls, etc.) was a pleasant surprise.

This is the second time I have stayed here in the past 2 months, and I canh't say enough good things. Very reasonably priced, and the front desk really goes out of their way to accomodate their guests. My daughter and I bought a game that required batteries, and we purchased the wrong size. The evening front desk personnel not only gave us batteries, but a screwdriver to install them with. The beds are clean, comfortable and spacious.

Acceptable breakfast. Did not have a covered drop-off, entrance difficult to identify. Okay for just overnight stay.
