Very nice hotel, but the location for lone females is not recommended. I have lived in a similar area and understand that it's not a safe area.

Staff very helpful. Poor outside street lighting. Somewhat pricy for the location.

The staff was wonderful, very helpful and hospitable considering our lack of Italian language skills. Room was well kept although HVAC was not user friendly. Neighborhood noisy so open windows were out of the question. Very large number of 'ethnic' NW Asians hanging around. Women might not want to venture out alone at night. Metro is literally just steps away, train Terminee was about 2 blocks. Limited food service outside of bar and breakfast buffet which was very good even for American tastes. Eggs, bacon, cereral. fruit and yogourt along with pastries every day. Could be had as room service for aobut 4 euros per person and they were VERY punctual with delivery so I highly recommend it if you need to get out in timely manner. Room and bath not very large but that goes without saying for Italy and indeed Europe. I've stayed in 5-6 different hotels in Florence, Rome and Venice and this was the first that had more than one tv station in English. Actually had BBC, CNN and National Geographic and some American tv programs dubbed in Italian-ranged from Magnum P.I. to Miami C.S.I. and what seems to be the favorite, Walker, Texas Ranger.Overall I feel bad for the hotel since local seems to be on decline although all areas near train stations are not the best. In another neighborhood, I would stay there but not where it is. Too bad for staff as welll, they did alot to see that we were happy and helped us find things including transportation, attractions and restaurants. Just do go to the trattoria they recommended to us, Cecio's, it was ok, just not nearly the best I've had in Rome.

Spacious and clean room. Although near train station. Very badly located, deserted streets and scary to walk outside in evening. Mostly wholesaler's groceries and china town. Deserted streets and scary to walk outside in evening. Mostly wholesaler's groceries and china town area. Therefore I would not recommend the area. The hotel is very pleasant, clean and spacious.

Rooms were nice, spacious and clean and had a Jacuzzi tub. Convenient to the train station, but not the greatest area especially at night.

The personal was very helpful. As a women I could not go outside for a walk not a friendly neighborhood. The rooms are European small but with a big bathroom. The personal specially helpful. The area around the Hotel graffitied and many Hindu and African refugees as well as the stores around. The Lobby small but friendly and the dinning and bar very nice.

Great hotel & staff - neighborhood not good! Great hotel located close to Termini (Train station) but not a very desirable neighbourhood to walk around esp at night.

Rooms were clean and housekeeping services were good. Very unsafe neighborhood. I will definitely not stay again at this hotel. It was in a shady neighborhood. The hotel staff was not helpful regarding directions or other information about the city. The rooms were rather small but clean and well kept.

very good service and staff ... the room was great neighborhood was filthy, very loud.. music playing at 6:00am When in the hotel... you were very comfortable but walking out was a different world. I did not feel so comfortable walking down the street and the streets were very dirty. Trash was all over the place and smelled.

Very family-friendly, incredibly helpful staff, nice clean hotel We stayed at the Golden Tulip Ambra Palace in Rome in early June 2005. Wonderful hotel. Very clean, nicely decorated, and the staff was wonderful. Breakfast was delicious, with a large assortment of items on the buffet line. We traveled with our six year old son and had let the hotel know this in advance. As a result, they had an extra bed made up for him, a small "beanbag" chair in the shape of a frog (which he loved), some bedtime story books, etc. They really made us feel welcome and were extraordinarily family friendly. Breakfast was excellent, with a large assortment on the buffet line, all very good food. The staff was very helpful, including in giving restaurant recommendations.

Superb and helpful service. beautiful facility. wonderful breakfast. The facility, staff, and service were all top notch. The breakfast was outstanding, and the access to the internet was free and available. The location was in a seedy neighborhood. It was convenient to the Rome subway (only 1 block away) and to the train station, but not really in an Italian neighborhood, and the location was definitely the low rent district. I never felt unsafe, but had no desire to spend any time in the neighborhood.

Breakfast was included where many other hotels it wasn't, and its central location. The shower was very small, and my room was next to the lifts. This is well located hotel within walking distance to many of the attractions in Rome. The bonus was that breakfast was included in the room rates and there were hot food selections where other places had continental breakfast. Staff was helpful and friendly.

Great Breakfast, good service, sufficient friendly staff, free internet. Close to train station Only negative is the poor quality of the area, scary and loud at night. I would not recommend this hotel for any women traveling without a man. It is scary at night and loud if the windows are open. Other than that, hotel is spotless, great service, nice rooms, beautiful breakfast area with great food and service. The actual location close to the train station and metro is very convenient.
