Approaching Oranmore take the 2nd exit on the roundabout. (Dual Carriageway).At next Roundabout take the 2nd exit (N6). At the Martin roundabout take 1st exit, At the Skerrit Roundabout take 2nd exit.Continue straight through the next set of traffic lights.After approximately 400 meters you will pass the G Hotel on your right just before the Ffrench roundabout.Move to the left lane and take the 1st exit on the roundabout.Continue for approximately 200 meters. The road divides just before the traffic lights, move to the right lane and continue through the traffic lights and up the hill. Continue straight passing the Greyhound track on the right. Amber Lodge BandB approx. 400 meters past the Greyhound track on the left.

Well worth a visit!I was most impressed with the service, which was friendly, courteous and professional. The room was comfortable, with tea/coffee and biscuits provided in-room. The en-suite bathroom was small but adequate. I really liked the fact that this particular B&B provided for all of my needs, from hairdryer and ironing board thru to hot-tub and wi-fi internet connection. I would have no hesitation in recommending this venue to friends and family alike.

Clean but expensive rooms off the beaten path. If your on foot I do not recommend this B&B We we not impressed. This was like taking a vacation to your Grandmother's house. The walls are paper thin, the rooms cramped, that bath rooms a joke, breakfast is only served until 10am and the "hot tub" is only available upon request!! The only thing this place had goging for it was the DVD Player that was built into the TV. My advice, go down the street to the Eyre Square Hotel, it's a better experience and value for your money.

amber lodge reviewsorry did not like amber lodge. we were on top floor and it was quite a climb up with suitcase etc. after busy day. the only good thing was it was easy access to city and free car parking. The water dripped all night long ( not from our room but from somewhere!) beds v comfortable and tea and coff available with biscuits which was good. and good lighting in bedroom but bathroom left a lot to be desired with v small space to actually use a towel to dry oneself! also no room to leave any toiletries down. (no good for a female)

Very nice staff, efficient and friendly. Wifi, as well as computer and free printing services which was very helpful. Generous delicious breakfast and comfortable beds. Convenient to bus station. Definitely recommend.

The Amber Lodge was a lovely place to stay and we loved our room, Room 1, which was furnished to a very high spec, something we were very happily surprised at. The only thing tht let it down - and it may seem minor - was tht the shower head obviously needs replacing and didn't work very wekk at all, the water spurted out around the sides and it was awkward getting wet! Other than that, the place was great and I would definately stay there again. Free internet access too, which is always an bonus!

The room was in an annexe and was little, shabby, cold and poorly furnished, the entrance through a narrow passageway where the drain pipes disgorge dirty water. Possibly the other rooms inside the house were better. The only advantage was that there was a (very little) bathroom en suite.

The only disappointment was the breakfast - I chose to stay in a B and B rather than a hotel because I was looking forward to a good quality Irish Breakfast but we got a buffet style - had I known I am afraid that I would have picked a hotel and gone out to breakfast. Sorry it is my only complaint, but breakfast is why I stay in a B and B and I feel it is an important part of the service.

We booked Amber Lodge at the last hour -- i.e. 9 a.m. for a check-in later that day, so I'm not surprised that the best rate we could find in Galway that day was 75 Euro. Still, it was a good place to be -- not too far from the center of town, breakfast was included, and a hot one at that! (i.e. toast, eggs -- not just cold cereal and pastries). Oh -- and free wi-fi included, which was very handy for us.

however we wold have prefered to stay in the house rather than in the chalet we found our chalet to be very small not much room for storage, bathroom the same more suitable for the younger guests. amber lodge is ideally situated easy to get to from n17 and a 5 minute walk to galway city centre. run by chris and his partner sorry i don't have her name, found chris to be most helpfull.

A really nice place - very close to Eyre Square, literally 5 mins walk, which is the start of the vibrant part of the city. Comfortable and clean, and friendly people running this B&B. Free wireless and parking, would stay again, a good find!

Had problems initally with cleanleness of toilet but problem was sorted out straingt away, also with temperature of rooms which was soon rectified. At end of stay took dicount of f due to problems without beeing asked for any which I felt was good.Breakfast was very good
