Splendid stay at Amber House, Paignton.Easy place to get to and near the beach. Very warm welcome which continued throughout our stay. Nothing we required was too much trouble. The room was better than described and everything was thought of. In fact the whole place had a high standard touch to it complimented by the friendly but professional attitude by the hotel owners Chris and Lloyd.

Amber House Is The Place to Stay in PaigntonAmber House was an excellent choice for my first stay in Devon, the accommodation was first class and Christine and Lloyd were wonderful. Amber House is within walking distance from Paignton train station and shopping centre, close to a good bus route which takes you to Torquay or Brixham. Leave the car at home, the buses run on time. Even your pets are welcome. Enjoy the beach which is a stone throw away and the steam train which takes you on a journey into the past. Thank you very much Amber House.

Great Guest HouseA great little guest house about 10 mins from the main town. Very friendly staff. Food very good (breakfast). The room we had was supposed to be the small one but was more than adequate with en suite shower and toilet. we have stayed ij much smaller for more money. Chris & LLoyd were very welcoming and gave us agood level of service. If your this way of the world I highly recommend

Top quality- clean, modern, comfortable ensuite room. Lloyd and Chris were very friendly, caring and helpful hosts. An excellent location, quiet but still within a few minute walk to the beach, harbour, town centre, pubs and shops.

A very pleasant experienceStayed for a couple of nights in mid-February. Very welcoming atmosphere, plentiful parking. Room very clean and pleasant. Satellite TV and DVD library a welcome surprise on those dull winter days. Booked one of the cheaper rooms, so was not expecting acres of space, however room felt a little cramped (though bathroom was a good size). If you bring a few electrical items (mobile chargers, laptops etc.) I found that there was a distinct shortage of outlets. These are minor niggles as the overall experience was very good. Breakfast plentiful and of a good standard (perhaps a little enthusiastic on the salt at times, but nothing to put anyone off). Wide selection of cereals, but juice choice restricted to OJ only. Lastly, location excellent for Paignton beach/pier and good road access to the rest of the riviera. On the whole an excellent place to stay.

Lovely. We were emailed within a few minutes of booking to inform us that the room we requested wouldn't be available for the first night (we did book past 10pm the night before we were staying), would we like to stay in an upgraded room at no extra cost instead? Tall Ships was a lovely airy room with sea view, ensuite WC,bath and shower and the Poirot (themed room including poirot DVDs) was a little smaller but never the less a lovely room, including an origional shower that was better than most new ones( - no scalding or freezing and good high pressure). The staff were very helpful throughout our stay ensuring that we were comfortable and providing useful information such as where to eat out/visit etc, making us very welcome. The breakfast was lovely and as a vegetarian a few options, which makes a change from other places I have stayed. The beds were comfortable and Amber house was extremely clean from top to bottom. There was also off road parking. The extra touches like good towel, a DVD collection and beach buckets and spades etc in the hallway for guests to borrow were the finer details that would make us want to revisit. We both felt that if nothing was too much to ask.I don't feel that the descriptions on laterooms were clear enough, I was concerned that ensuite may only be an ensuite WC but by ensuite it did mean entire bathroom. Also don't be put off that there are only a few ratings on here - Amber House is new to laterooms.

Rooms very good, bed the most comfortable yet for B & B's and Hotels. Best ever selection of sky channels and everything kept very clean. The owners very polite and helpful. The only downer was that we had to wait an hour on the last day for breakfast and it took over 20 mins for anyone to aproach us and ask if we wanted tea or coffee. Apart from that a very pleasant stay, would definately recommend.
