Great hotel for traveling for Summerfest. The parking is free at the hotel and they will shuttle you a few blocks to Summerfest. They could bring you a little closer, but it was better than driving there. They will also pick you up.

Big room, nice TV, comfortable king sized bed. Not the most lively location.

I am originally from Milwaukee and had to come home for my buddy's wedding. I booked a room at this hotel, as I am a fan of the art deco style and the amenities seemed very nice. I was not disappointed. The food was one thing I will always remember. My wife and I ordered breakfast in bed every morning, and after the first day, we realized you only need to order one plate and then share it because the helpings were enormous! My mouth is watering thinking of all the excellent food we had. I don't think we ate out but maybe one time when we were staying there. The staff was very friendly and quickly solved any problem we had, and the location is great. I highly recommend this hotel and if I ever get back to WI I will stay here again or at a minimum, stop in for some food and drinks in their cozy bar.

I chose this hotel because of its proximity to Marquette and that it is a hotel that uses Aveda products. The room was spacious with a large tv and comfortable furniture. I paid around $110/night for a queen, but when I arrived I received a complementary upgrade to a king room. The hotel's bar and coffee shop were both great places to start and finish the day, the staff was very courteous and maintained the building well. The hotel is located a short drive from downtown and to the lake, but the value of hotel quality to price cannot be matched. I recommend anyone traveling to Milwaukee, especially to the Marquette campus or Miller Park to stay at the Ambassador.

Art decor remodel is beautiful. Room and amenities are 4 star. The location of this hotel is in a less than desirable neighborhood. Was not comfortable even parking my car there.

We flew out from California to check out Marquette U, which our daughter will be attending in the fall of '07. Only after reading up on the city of Milwaukee and choosing the hotel knowing the area, we decided if our daughter was going to go to college there, then we should stay in the closest hotel to the campus so we too could experience what our daughter would once she moved here. It was not a mistake. The room was spacious, comfortable, the service great, and the shuttle a great money saver. Do yourself a favor and stay here. It's owned by a Marquette alumni.

Our family stayed at the Hotel for a get acquainted with Milwaukee weeknd prior to heading the the Dells for the holidays. My children had never even seen snow, much less a White Christmas, so we chose Wisconsin to spend our Christmas Holidays. The Ambassaor made us feel right at home during our trip and was a great base camp for exploring Milwaukee. The rooms were spacious and well maintained, the food in the hotel restaurant was wonderful, but what we liked best were the staff who went out of their way to make us feel welcome. I would happily recommend the Ambassador to anyone traveling to Milwaukee for business or pleasure.

Free parking, free upgrade, nice room, friendly staff. Location is just OK, can't really walk anywhere cool.

We had high hopes after reading a review of this renovated Milwaukee landmark. In every aspect of our stay, it fell short of our expectations. First of all, our room was grimey and had a nasty odor. Second, given the neighborhood where this hotel is located, it is seriously in need of a security detail. Third, the service was slow, the employees were rude, and the food/drinks were sub-par. Enough art deco flair to choke a goat, however I would never stay there again.

The Ambassador Hotel was a fantastic place to stay. The service was incredible and the eggplant burrito was delicious. The artwork and color scheme gives the foyer a deco look. The atmosphere reminds me of an old Humphrey Bogart movie mixed with tantalizing music blend of Frank Sinatra and Jazz music.

Parking is very convenient. Loved the towels. The Caves lost while we were staying there. I am happy when this hotel comes up on priceline.com. When we visit Marquette it is extremely convenient and I love the ease of the parking lot.

This is a lovely older hotel that has been wonderfully restored. As many of the other reviewers have noted, the little touches in the rooms have all been well thought out. Our room was not as quiet as it might have been (after I asked for a quiet room when making reservation) as it was connected to another room where the occupant got a 5 am wake up call - and we could then hear the phone conversations he was having prior to 7 am. But otherwise, a lovely place & space!"

This Hotel is just, on the outskirts of marquette U.We made 1 mistake in booking a weekend the same weekend as halloween.Student apts across the street had parties until 3am but whattya gonna do. Pottw. Casino is 3 minutes away and viewable from the rooms.Parking was no issue. The Bathroom in our room was just ok. Seemed a bit outdated. The bed was fine nice sized TV.College bars are all over. 5 min.trip into downtown for some good food. Brewery is 10 minutes away. Will probably get something closer to the lake next time just to be able to walk into downtown.

Comfortable bed, quite room, very nice towels, flexible and free shuttle van. Sheets and bathroom floor could have been cleaner. Had some communication issues with shuttle pick up. Comfortable, quite, free shuttle service since hotel is not within good walking distance for sightseeing.

The Ambassador Milwaukee has an amazing staff. When I checked in the front desk imediately took care of my special requests, the room service staff was very friendly and quick, as were those in the restaraunt and lounge. I took advantage of the free shuttle and found them to be most accomaditing and helpful in locating places of interest to me. The hotel is beautifully appointed with large welcoming rooms and one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. This hotel really stands out when it comes to customer service!!! I look forward to my next visit.

Comfortable atmosphere. Took a while to figure out that each room has a master electric switch for lights. Very clean and comfortable hotel. Every member of the hotel staff that we had contact with was friendly and helpful. The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service that will drop off and pick up at local downtown attractions. This was a plus for our visit. Room service was prompt and very affordable.

The Ambassador Hotel had a very inviting atmosphere from the moment I arrived. The staff couldn't be more helpful. The art deco design was very interesting. The linens on the bed and the towels were all fluffy & clean as was the terry cloth robe which was provided. A free shuttle was provided to take you anywhere in town. The coffee shop had delicious food at very reasonable prices.
