Ambassade Hotel Amsterdam consists of ten 17th-century “merchants” houses and stands on the imposing Herengracht in the heart of Amsterdam. A unique position in one of the most beautiful parts of the city; quiet , yet within walking distance of all major attractions. The houses have been carefully restored to maintain their authentic character and all 59 rooms and suites have been furnished and decorated in Louis XVI style , combined with modern art. A traditional and extensive Dutch breakfast is served in the recently renovated breakfast room in the main building with views over the Herengracht. Apart from two lounges , the hotel disposes of an internet-office , a beautiful meeting-hall in 17th century style and a library with a collection of 2000 books , all signed by the authors during their stay at Ambassade Hotel Amsterdam. Over the last few years the hotel acquired a remarkable collection of paintings of which many by artists from the well-known Cobra-group.
